Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun... fuck, that's better than the headliners! I'm glad I unpaused a few days ago. I was going to skip but with 5 months left I figured I should get through my already paid for bundles ASAP.
It seriously is. Tons of great reviews, high meta score, never been cheaper than ~$27. Shocking to see it not a headliner. Its been on my wishlist for a while.

The actual player reviews are coming in for AC:O and Wolfenstein 2, which reinforce (to me at least) the idea of not buying day 1. Most of the AC:O complaints revolve around the double DRM which is causing their CPUs to go under more load than need be while their GPU is only being utilized 40% for instance. Various complaints about technical issues, which in reality, should be fixed with patches minus the double DRM issue. I also read that one person stated that they saw fire resistance stat without any drops for such - either person was unlucky or those items will come out with a DLC.

Wolfenstein 2 complaints did touch on optimization for some, but most complained about the brevity i.e. 7 hours to 18 hours for others (arguement about cost vs hours of enjoyment) and the AI i.e. stealth and the behavior of the enemy.

I can understand why some people are frustrated on how Wolfenstein 2 for instance got so many 9 and 10 scores from review sites.

Overall, again at least for me, wait until most bugs patched, better optimized and the DLCs released to have better cohesion, and get at a better price.
The ACO Patch for tech fixes is out, came out yesterday I believe. The Double DRM....well...yea that sucks, but maybe those with issues should get a better PC/CPU har har

Still wanting to get ACO (need to trade this Des2 key)

Also, its a liner shooter... On-rails is something else entirely and its not a description you ever want your game described as. :) (If you remember all the old arcade games with the rifle/pistol and you moved a bit, stopped, killed a few things, and then moved on again without taking control of your character's movements... That's as on-rail shooter.)
But I like House of the Dead.

<strong>StarCraft 2 is going Free to Play on Nov. 14th.

SC2: Wings of Liberty campaign becomes free for everyone period.
Those who already own WoL, you'll get Heart of the Swarm expansion for free.
Are they going to be adding monetized skins or something? This decision confuses me.

Meh, one and the same to me for modern purposes. Not going to bother nerd-debating subjective gaming terms.
lol writing off a specific definition to fit your argument's narrative doesn't work.

"On rails shooter" has a specific definition. There's nothing subjective about it. Id also disagree with INMATE that being called "on rails" isn't inherently bad, there are good games in that specific style, they're just rare and most of the best ones are older (Star Fox, Panzer Dragoon, etc.)

Huh.  Official Vanilla servers coming in the future for WoW, new expansion is going to be very faction-based.  The name is Battle for Azeroth, the opening cinematic has Horde/Alliance fighting and was very visually impressive.  Blizz keeps upping their cinematic quality.  Hanzo and Alexstrasza coming to Heroes of the Storm.  New hero for Overwatch named Moira, actually looked pretty interesting.  Also a new map coming for Overwatch that is a Blizzard theme park with stuff like a snack bar called Snaxxaramas, a Tristram church, a rollercoaster and some other stuff.

I'm pretty sure that's already been done. Blizzard's been selling decals, voice sets, and leaders through battle.net for years. Maybe they've finally monetized StarCraft II to the point where they're making more money from microtransactions than from game sales.

I always get drawn in with each new expansion only to play for a month or two and realize I don't have the time for endgame and quit.  They aren't going to lure me in again!

Well, they might

Good enough. Although I've heard it used more openly, I'll defer to those worried about the purity of definition. Without definition, language becomes anarchy and I'd hate to see that happen before I get to enjoy my weekend.

My "narrative" was merely that the length doesn't seem exceptionally off the usual mark for this style of game. TNO's main plot was maybe a 11-12hr game at a casual pace including ridiculous padding like "I dropped the world's only screwdriver down the toilet, go retrieve it from the sewers". So if TNC is ~10 hrs (splitting the difference between 7-13hrs) then it doesn't seem very noteworthy.

Trailer for the new expansion, the Blizz channel has all of the videos.  The Overwatch ones and the other WoW one were well done as well.

This expansion looks really nice.  Two new continents, one for each faction but the other faction's zones unlock for you at the new cap of 120, new "allied" races that you unlock through story progression and can then later play with (3 new races per faction) and they are adding more allied races later.   Hints at some major changes for old-world zones, possibly entire areas being taken by the other faction but that remains to be seen.

New Horde races at launch: Nightborne, Highmountain Tauren, Zandalari Trolls

New Alliance races at launch: Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves

There was a cute new fox race that I think was in one of the Horde zones, hopefully they are playable later.  The new continents are Zandalar and Kul Tiras.  Also we are finally going to take on some long-time but ignored threats like Queen Azshara, which is one I have been waiting for since BC.

The new zones looked very well done.  I have a feeling that for the first time since BC/WotLK I will still be subbed when this one comes out rather than wondering if I should sub for a month or two, which is what I did for Draenor.

Some nice quality of life changes include more zone scaling so you have more questing options.  You will not outlevel a zone while you are in it but you have the option of moving past it if you do not like it.  For example I think they said both Outland and Northland will scale from 60 to 80 and both Cataclysm and Pandaria zones will scale from 80 to 90.  Older zones might start at 20 but scale to 40 or from 40 to 60, etc.

Changing server rules with regards to PvP  and allowing all servers to flag or unflag in capital cities and there will be bonuses for questing while flagged so you don't have to be miserable on a PvP server with lopsided factions and there will be more reasons to flag in general, so they are trying to make world PvP more viable while still being totally optional across the game.

In all seriousness, what is this WoW Vanilla server commotion all about? I admit I've never played WoW so maybe it's one of those "you had to be there" moments in gaming. I do like the fact there are many avenues and genres in gaming for everyone to be entertained, but WoW just never pulled me in. Monthly subscription based games for content is something I've never been a fan of. I blame The Sims Online for my personal disdain.

Wow Vanilla. It took me 3 months to reach my first character to level 60. And literally, I used to play a lot by during that time. The game was very hardcore. We are talking about how it was in Sept 2006 v.1.12.1

What exactly are those eBay listings for “uplay accounts”? I see AC:Origins goes for $15-20 for a uplay account. I don’t mind to use that if it’s legit, but if it’s someone’s stolen account, I don’t want to deal with all that.

I can't say for sure, but sounds like somebody makes a new uplay account with AC Origins registered and give you the pwd and username so you can log in.

Avoid that like the 7 plagues

I paused my monthly because of the garbage headliners only to see the game at the top of my wishlist(shogun tactics) show up. Thanks humble.
If it follows most games, once it gets bundled once, it starts jumping on the bundle wagon. It'll be in a regular humble bundle w/i 6 months I bet.

I have my doubts a well regarded $40 game, indie or not, will get bundled again anytime soon. Either way, I intended on buying it winter sale regardless of price and immediately playing it, so waiting for a bundle isn't my first choice.

I posted it in my activity and I'll post it here, any regular with a spare key I'll hook up with $10 steam wallet via this newfangled wallet gifting.

Edit: I also have a steam gift of Zombie Army Trilogy if anybody wants to trade for that.

Just wait until things get much worse w/ Activision One-Click so you can purchase the weapon that just killed you, which you are seeing on the Killcam replay & when sitting there in Spectator Mode watching crap go down.

Runic stopped being Runic when Max and Eric Schaefer and Travis Baldree left.  HOB is proof of that.  No big loss.  I'm sure Eric, Max, and Travis left when some geniuses decided to get in bed with Perfect World.

That's what current Runic allowed to happen to Torchlight.

Also, World of Warcraft legacy servers are a go.  Who's starting the guild?!?!

Yes, but remember that Daedalic is the publisher and they allowed two of their VERY recent releases to appear in this bundle. I wouldn't be that surprised to see it rebundled.

Too bad, but I guess that's not too surprising, considering that Perfect World is all about the MMO space. No long-term cash stream in selling single-player games.

I wonder if they will ever remaster Warcraft 1-3. Starcraft Remastered was quite good!
Seriously, I'd just settle for Warcraft IV. Come on, Blizzard, if Microsoft can make Age of Empires IV after god-knows-how-long, y'all can spend a fraction of your small-nation's-GDP in profits to move the Warcraft series forward.
