President of ArenaNet, Mike O'Brien, leaves the company:
https://www.pcgamer.com/arenanet-president-leaves-studio-was-reportedly-working-on-new-guild-wars-game/

Notes:
- Mike O'Brien, President of ArenaNet for around 19 years, leaves the company
- He was supposedly working on laying the ground-work for another MMO, which could've been for Guild Wars 3.
- 8 developers are also leaving ArenaNet.
- Mike is going to form a small studio & work on smaller games w/ some of his friends.
Hmmmm....i wonder where those 8 devs are going... Anti-poaching clause? Unless the devs were canned....

Whether fired or leaving on their own, sounds they're all probably going w/ Mike to his new company.

Regardless, the President of ArenaNet is leaving...and that crew was supposedly at work on Guild Wars 3. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens w/ ArenaNet and their future direction, if they will do more GW2 expansions or go for a full blown GW3 now. Heck, who knows if the rest of ArenaNet will even use any of the foundations and ground-work that it sounds like the core 9-crew of GW3 were at work on.

Also going to be interesting to see what Mike and his next company will put out, sometime down the line.

Div2 Report:

2 keys last night
2 keys tonight

Up to 26 now. Weiler completed his. Waabulo is still being ofer'd because he hasn't joined us the past two nights.

Div2 Report:
I, myself, completed the raid for the first time ever... I had been in a few months ago but the group I was in ran out of juice on the last boss.

My buddy who likes raiding has a pretty full lost of people who are good at it so it wasn't too horrible.

I just despise how gamey it is... It feels like a video game raid and it just bothers me in a real world environment.

Isn't it time we impeach TrumpCat already? Maybe it's time for PenceCat to step in. Or better yet, PelosiCat. I don't want to cause a CheapAss civil war, but can we get 2/3 of the thread to vote for this?

GamesRadar - Bully 2 info: it did exist, was being worked on, and was cancelled (for now):
https://www.gamesradar.com/bully-2-existed-and-was-playable-but-it-never-got-off-the-ground-say-rockstar-sources/

Notes:
- Rockstar New England was working on Bully 2.
- Bully 2 was worked on for 18 months, after Red Dead Redemption 1 was released.
- It was being worked on, on and off, from 2010 (after RDR1) to the end of 2013.
- Bully 2 just...never got off the ground.
- Bully 2's momentum was "fizzled out" and the team was also deployed at times to assist in other teams & projects.

How many people did you run with? The full 8? I keep telling Syntax we should run it. At least try it, but he keeps saying we need the full eight. I want to try it with the four that usually play.

You have unrealistic expectations. From what I hear it's now a fashion show. Get on the runway and tell everyone that you're to sexy for your hat!!!

The full eight. At this point I would agree with him. We kicked (they really I just did what I was told) a number of players at the last part as you really need to communicate and have bodies to get everything done. (at the minimum you will ALWAYS have to have at least four.. You need that many to get past the first boss and to trigger parts of the last encounter.)

They did add a discover mode for the raid, with lowered difficulty and loot, if you just want to experience it...

I finished up Operencia: The Stolen Sun this weekend with about 24 hours in it.  It has a part where it starts to drag, mainly due to the stuff you fight (drains energy, making fights a slog) but then picks back up a bit and stayed mostly enjoyable throughout.  If you were to try it, I'd say to play through to the end of the first "level" (a sunken castle) and see how you feel about it.  If you like it, you'll probably continue to like it.  If not, it's not getting any better.  Don't let the Dragon's Dogma-esque intro sway your opinion; it's probably the worst part of the game from a voice acting & dialogue standpoint and makes you learn the controls with a pre-made group before you make your own character.

Other thoughts:

Pros:

-- Interesting lore

-- Good number of party members (after you meet them all)

-- Flexible builds with some creativity

-- Abilities felt fairly unique

-- Puzzles usually aren't stupid hard but will give you pause to think

-- Enjoyable combat (though not too complicated)

-- Attractive art

-- 20ish hours is just about perfect for wrapping up before wearing out its welcome

Cons:

-- Tons of items that offer few significant upgrades.  You'll slowly get more powerful but few "Oh wow" item moments

-- Dialogue and story can be cheesy

-- Each region only has a few creature types so fights can feel samey

-- The puzzles that aren't fairly easy are instead rather unintuitive and can be frustrating

-- Combat can be too easy; I think I only party wiped once (on the base difficulty) when ambushed towards the end

-- One or two major fights end up being kind of lame due to mechanics

My final advice is to consider playing a mage since it's your only route to big fireballs, ice storms, etc.  The NPC magic users aren't elemental-type blasters so if you want big blasty AOEs in your fights, you gotta bring it yourself whereas the game provides several stock melee brawlers and agile sniper/skirmishers for your group.

Folks ... many, many people are saying this new bundle from Fanatical has no fear. No fear whatsoever, believe me it just has no fear whatsoever. No fear people. It's fearless. Truly fearless. It's just remarkable how little fear this bundle has, let me tell you. It's a beautiful thing to have no fear. Beautiful.

Fearless Bundle

Take on the role of one of 14 martial arts stunt masters in close-quarter combat.

Shaolin vs Wutang

All for $3.49. Fanatical are showing no fear in selling these games so cheaply. A couple of these games are fearlessly in the bundle despite being bundled before. It shows tremendous courage to be in a position that so few people wants you to be in, believe me. I know this.

Actually want the Shaolin vs Wu Tang game (I already have the other fighter in the bundle which I believe isn't great but it was cheap some sale). The rest of the bundle looks not my style though.

doesn't really matter. not like the next cat will make this forum any better. people think the previous cat was good, but people only liked him because it was the first bl... POLITICS!!!

It may be the cynic in me (buried just a few microns below the surface), but they look like exactly the same game, and I found Kings of Kung Fu to be profoundly disappointing. I get that it's supposed to be cheesy, but it's also just not a very good game. It's like somebody remade Kareteka with digitized models and sound effects--it's Mortal Kombat II but not as good. Even at a $7-$10 price tag, that's not much value IMO.

Well, in that case, you could just buy the remake of Karateka. It's only four bucks! (Note: Not an official endorsement from me.)

Yeah. . . I wouldn't recommend that either, as one of the unfortunate souls who has also played that.

(So you're saying Jordan Mechner didn't send you some sweet jingling money to endorse his product?!?!)

32GB, pffft. Bring it on, EA! I got RAM for days, motherlickers. I got BIG sticks already, but I can't wait to buy bigger ones.

Anyone playing Shadowkeep?  How is it? Is it worth it?  I kinda want to get it but will probably wait until there is a nice sale on the full experience around Christmas.  Re-buying Forsaken plus getting Shadowkeep & season pass is $34.99 + $59.99 currently.

Thanks to Syntax giving me the heads up on the Div 2 hotfix I've reinstalled and am going hard for the whole set of apparel caches.   Been playing quite a bit and I'm 11 of 30 so far.  Six days to go.

Fantastic...don't wait

I really shouldn't buy games unless I absolutely know I am going to be playing them.   I picked up Division 2 pre-launch to get a discount and still haven't played because I decided I wanted to play through the story bits of the first one and I haven't done that either.  Also I bought Shadowkeep and honestly if I get around to it this year it will be shocking.  Sigh.  It would make about as much sense for me to just set my wallet on fire.

You're not alone. Same but with like 6 other games.

Same. I still get suckered into buying VNs cause I quite like them but so many are just average and I end up playing like 1-2 routes. I bought BL3 and still haven't played it much. I have a lot of other things going on in my life though so my gaming time is limited as it is. During this time I'm literally going to go through every game in my collection and say will I play this within say 3 years. If I do a i may not or I want to play something else it gets sold/donated/hidden on Steam library. I should just not let myself play games unless I will play them right then and there. Only one I've held true on is DQ11S on Switch. It's a fun pick up and play game.
