Yeah, I got mine and activated it.  Should I be downloading it?  'Cause I ain't downloaded it.  Once I found out it was 24 hours I was like "eh, why bother?"

Same here. I signed up a couple of places. Got one key but might get another so if I have an extra for this blink and you miss it beta test  then someone can have it.

This site might still work although they say Oct 1st for the key and starting Oct 5th?
Ah. It's something called Closed Community Beta 1 that is running today. There will be an open beta later (still requiring a beta key.) Given that there will be more opportunity to try this, there's no rush to try it tonight.

In the last week, I've gotten three random friend invites: Some guy with a racist pseudo-Asian name, some guy who belongs to a "Deals" group whose icon is a hooked-nose Jew caricature and someone belonging to a 9/11 conspiracy group.

Has Steam been adding something to the drinking water?

Closed Beta:
This phase is limited to fewer players and is strictly under NDA, meaning screenshots, videos or any other type of info may NOT be shared. The purpose of this phase is to test various systems in the game and weed out any obvious issues, such as start-up failures with certain hardware or issues with the Loot System, levels or other game features.

I can't imagine anything more fun than us trying to link up during start-up failures and hardware issues. Maybe it'll play "Paradise City" on an indefinite loop.

Apparently the Closed Beta is different from the Closed Community Beta. Closed Community Beta used to be called Open Beta, but apparently that created confusion among those expecting an open beta.

Well since Bruticus thinks Ark is all that and a bag of chips I'd say we should do an Ark server but I guess most of ya'll are too damned cheap to buy it without a 99% off sale.

I'm afraid if I buy it, they might one day offer a lower discount and then I'd cry. I need ARK to maintain shitty discounts to preserve my frail psyche.

Probably won't be lower until 1-2 months after it actually releases sometime mid next year. It really is fun though. I remember playing 3 weeks straight, religiously, losing sleep, forgetting to eat, playing hours upon hours. It wasn't deep addiction; I stopped cold turkey. The game was just that good. I knew full well I'd look like a monkey's back side going to work but I did not care. This game is beast and it gets updated like every other day.

Has anyone tried the newer Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing games?  Spode, Sev, and I tried the first game a while ago and it was a meh co-op experience.  Just wondering if any of the sequels or upcoming remasters might be worth trying.

Sure, but I have Beasts of Prey and they're pretty much the same thing :whistle2:

DavidN is finally getting around to sending Steam keys for Crystal Towers 2 XL. He just sent mine earlier today. Might want to check on Desura if you messaged him for a key.

ASDAD dev says he'll send out keys tomorrow when the game goes live.

I bought Van Helsing 3 to get the new remastered edition, so I'll be willing to try it out again.

Also, Bobby is having a pizza party and he told me everyone here is invited

By "everyone here", you mean my family and you if you bring a good Steam key per pizza slice you take. :bouncy:

More Early Access Never to be Finished sandbox games? No thanks~

I would never go to a booby pizza party, I don't want to get pregnant.

Brodate:

The bros fisted some insects last night in Earth Defense Force.  Gilby showed up for a while, but then the urge to fist some rats hit him and he want to play Vermincilli.

There's a survival mode for up to 6 players, but it kind of sucks tbh.  The devs limited it to only one class and also limited weapon selection so it limits the fun. Not sure why they did that or if maybe you can unlock stuff as you play the campaign.  The campaign is up to three players and that's where the game shines.  More classes, more weapons, upgrades and new weapons along the way.  Really fun.  We got through mission 1 before my old bones needed rest. I've played through this one and the first EDF on Xbox with my real life bro and it was a blast so if you have a group of friends I highly recommend it.

Tonight we have Haunted Hell's Reach so all you pitiful Indiagala Groupies can play it if you got the Monday bundle last week.

I rented an Ark server, you can message me on Steam for details and settings of the server. Anyone is welcome to join but it's password protected to prevent random asshats from joining. It's a PvPvE server but there's only two tribes on the server now and one of them is brand new. We're under a truce to not touch new tribes until they indicate they're ready to rumble. We want to give the noobs time to get comfortable with game, establish a base and tame some dinos. And yes, the truce is honored with an iron fist, there's no point in griefing people that can't fight back fairly, especially considering they'll just leave the server and never return.

GameInformer -> Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's Pre-Order Tiered plans revamped b/c of harsh feedback from fans.

When Square Enix announced the release date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, it also revealed a tiered pre-order scheme. The more pre-orders the game received, the more rewards players would unlock. Today, the “Augment Your Pre-Order” plan is no more.

The publisher says that the negative feedback on the program led to the decision. “We’ve spent a lot of time reading through all of your comments, working to understand how we can try to make things right for you,” the publisher writes. “After much thought and reflection, we decided to close down the program and make all incentive content available to anyone who pre-orders Deus Ex: Makind Divided or purchases a Day 1 edition of the game.”

This means that players will no longer have to choose which pre-order bonus they receive at different tiers.
Everyone will get:
•Intruder (stealth), Enforcer (aggressive), and classic packs
•Skins
•Extra mission
•Comic Book
•Soundtrack

The release date is now fixed at February 23, and Square Enix no longer has plans to distribute it four days early based on pre-order numbers. The publisher says that the changes should be applied automatically to your order with no action required on your part.

If I join and bring all my Mexican friends do you promise not to build a wall around my settlement?

If you only knew what kind of bizarre ethnic mix already existed on the server, you'd know that Mexicans would be an improvement. It doesn't get much worse then Canadians and Polish.

Did I miss the party? I missed it, didn't I. Next time, a little notice would be appreciated. And Italian sausage and onion would be great. Thanks!

Make sure you try to use a glitched shoprunner account that should have already cancelled and then argue with Dominos so you can try to get an extra discount.
That sounds kind of console peasanty. I am dissapoint.

I've never signed up for one of those trials. Maybe now is the time. My first choice would be Cici's but the nearest one is 30 miles away and ain't nobody got time for dat. Little Caesar's is also a choice. Not sure Atlanta is really the place for good local pizza spots. There's a chik fil a pizza place that serves a chik fil a pizza. They have a buffet. Maybe I will try them.

A big announcement?  Oh, I hope it's more Humble Bundle action figures.

Maybe a Humble Bundle dollhouse/command center for me to play with them in.  And the Humble Bundle Super Star Fighter Action Jet...
