This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

M...M...M...Multi-quote!
That reminds me way too much of C-c-c-combo breaker.

For Tremor, on Peanutlabs, go to free and sort by popular. Third one down should be +200 for a life insurance quote, and it only asks for a zip code.

There's also a +400 auto insurance one that asks for a lot more info, but easy enough to sign up a local McDonald's.
I can't find it. :whistle2:(

you can use this too

this is to respond to your ps3 peripheral.. please don't ban me
Does that work with short fingers?

Really? I could never get mine to. Granted, I can't remember the last time I tried.
Mine charges on PC too but I can't seem to get my DS4 (not sure about DS3) to charge via my iPod AC adapter. My Sony Gold wireless headset does.

DS4 refuses to charge unless it's been depleted by a certain amount, not sure what the amount is. Can be annoying.

I've been using an Xbone controller lately. Just need a micro-usb charging cable to connect to the PC and I'm good to go, though a wireless connection would be nice.

Still prefer the feel of a 360 controller honestly, it's a little cramped (though I guess I have big hands), but the triggers and bumpers are definitely better.

Wii U Pro controller is supposed to be good, can't wait to get my hands on one. And with the new adapter, I think you can use Gamecube controllers on your PC easier.

I want to and my buddy has the tools to do it, but I still need a 2nd one for my wife when we couch co-op.
You can't share a wand? ;)

Stay away from this cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IWLF9MS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I know it has great reviews, is long, and is a decently trusted brand but the one I got just keeps disconnecting the controller. It does the same with my PS4 controller as well, if just doesn't sit well in there at all and will randomly connect and disconnect and when connected you have to hold the controller really still so it doesn't disconnect. I also guess it's possible I just got a bad cable, who knows. Just my two cents.

Right, I cannot get my DS3 to charge off a dumb charger (phone/tablet brick), it seems to need a data connection... I charge it on my mac that runs 24/7.

I charge controllers on my DVR/PVR cable box. I don't know what the USB port on it was intended for, but it's there and in a convenient location.

Yeah, I just tried both of my OG DS3s and neither charge from anything other than my PS3 or PSTV, both of which are typically off. I used to have a charging stand for my PS3 and 360 controllers, but that's long broke. It's not really any trouble since I really don't use them, but it's the one annoying thing I always hated, not being able to charge them from a USB hub or the like.

I suspect the reason is that the older USB spec required devices to negotiate permission to draw more than 100 mA. I suspect the DS3 follows spec (many devices ignore this part of the spec).

Standard downstream port (SDP) This is the same port defined by the USB 2.0 spec and is the typical form found in desktop and laptop computers. The maximum load current is 2.5mA when suspended, 100mA when connected and not suspended, and 500mA (max) when configured for that current. A device can recognize a SDP with hardware by detecting that the USB data lines, D+ and D-, are separately grounded through 15kΩ, but it still needs to enumerate to be USB compliant. In USB 2.0, it is not strictly legal to draw power without enumerating, although much of present-day hardware does just that, and in violation of the spec.

Those ports are used to connect USB flash drives or hard drives for DVR functions.

Anyway Star Trek 25th Anniversary is also on Steam now. http://store.steampowered.com/app/359650/

Guess this means the rest of the games will show up there sooner or later.

So by that theory the DS4 is using an old spec as well? Lame, it just came out.
I wouldn't be surprised... it's still pretty prevalent...

It's not that it's outdated... but there are now newer kinds of ports defined in the spec...

Charging downstream port (CDP) BC1.1 defines this new, higher current USB port for PCs, laptops, and other hardware. Now the CDP can supply up to 1.5A, which is a departure from USB 2.0 because this current can be supplied before enumeration. A device plugged into a CDP can recognize it as such by means of a hardware handshake implemented by manipulating and monitoring the D+ and D- lines. (See USB Battery Charging Specification, section 3.2.3.) The hardware test takes place before turning the data lines over to the USB transceiver, thus allowing a CDP to be detected (and charging to begin) before enumeration.

Dedicated charging port (DCP) BC1.1 describes power sources like wall warts and auto adapters that do not enumerate so that charging can occur with no digital communication at all. DCPs can supply up to 1.5A and are identified by a short between D+ to D-. This allows the creation of DCP "wall warts" that feature a USB mini or micro receptacle instead of a permanently attached wire with a barrel or customized connector. Such adapters allow any USB cable (with the correct plugs) to be used for charging.

How do you have so much confidence in Groupees?

Have you been living under a rock?

Just get released from prison?

Suffered traumatic brain injury?

All of the above?
I have had no confidence in them since last time they changed Girls Girls Girls! Bundle's bonus from 5 to 4. :speaktothehand:

So I said nothing but posted a pic shown after my pre-purchase of Be Mine 19 and some emoticons. ;)

By the way, I came from space, and will not eat your brains seasonal lurker ghetto. :)

I know this is oddly specific, but does anyone have a spare Commander Cool 2 for trade? Been quite hard to find a copy even on Steamtrades, of all places. I guess I'll wait for the very likely non Greenlight bundle featuring it.

I don't know why I thought GoatZ was a free DLC just like the last one. At $4.99 it's going to be hard for me to pay more for the DLC than the I did for the game.My goat-shaped zombie-hunting adventure can wait.
I spoder'd Goat Sim from . . . spoder. So does this mean I get to spoder the DLC from him too? Or he gets to spoder the DLC from me? Or we both spoder it from Bruti? :whistle2:?

Oh, it totally means he gets to spoder the dlc from you. Don't you see that was his plan all along? And you fell for it too, you poor fool.

It's on my wishlist, but I'm not sure I want it that much.
It's fun for like....an hour?

EDIT: Never played the MMO part though

Oh & I purchased the Old Blood. Finished it today. Not bad. Not great, but I feel like I got my money's worth from it.

How I know this thread goes off-topic...a lot:

Me, earlier today: "Hmmm, I really need to find a gaming community to talk about games."

Though only took about 5 minutes to remember CAG is a community, based around gaming.

I bought Old Blood off Nuuvem so at least I saved something off of it.  If you liked NWO you'll like this since it's essentially more of the same.

Also Woolfe dropped me a $3 foil so now I'm back in the black :D/

I hate you Tremor users. I only get ads that ask me for my cell phone number so the surveys can auto-charge a fee after the trials.
I get those and ones that ask for a credit card. Oh, and ones that sound like the US ones, but have a lower coin count and never actually credit me those coins.

Drop time. The normal thread got toxic a long time ago so I'm just dumping them here. Gonna be honest - no idea how many of these actually work, so good luck!

I grabbed these two. Thank you! The rest were all lurked, even the Desura games, surprisingly.
