This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Thank you for posting the article about the Steam sale with the graphs and various monthly top ten sellers.  I actually found it a nice read and would like to access that type of information in the future as well.  No offensive to Steam, but most of us could curate a bundle at least one a month for humble, steam or others that would rock.  Most of us already have an eye for what should move to indie bundle i.e. Sir You are Being Hunted was being called to be bundled.  I know that Steam rakes in plenty of money due to Dota 2 and other games that they really have lost touch with trying to compete.  Is it any wonder why Origin, GOG, Uplay actually took form?  Maybe the curating rant should be more directed at humble as I really think that most of us could come up with great selling bundles.  

I am losing motivation for increasing my steam level as well.  I still idle for cards.  I like badges but really have no goal anymore in crafting or increasing levels.  It amazes me from time to time to see people 200+ level.  Alt accounts or just spending money from whatever source; hey everyone has a hobby.

Thank you for all the discussion about the state of steam sales and the CAG perspective.  I hope that we all have a great year, add to our backlog, and find some good game deals.

You're right - Cognition OST Vol 2 and Moebius OST have never been bundled as Steam keys. I thought the Moebius OST was included in that Groupees, but it's not in my purchase list. And, if I recall correctly, this is also the first time the entire Supreme League series has been bundled, I usually only see the first episode, and this including the soundtrack is pretty cool. I'd be up for splitting a bundle for the OSTs and Supreme League.

1. Make user reviews more useful (maybe gamify them or the rating of user reviews)

2. Hire more customer/developer relation staff (maybe spin off Steam from Valve to avoid the oddball hiring practices)

3. Less predictable / boring sales (in addition to seasonal events, try more genre-specific or curated sales)

4, Better curation (both official and an improved user-curation system)

5. Better developer tools (affiliate links, trackable discount codes, etc)

Why switch when you can just collect them all?

Uplay, Origin, GOG, Steam, Capsule, Playfire, G4WL, Battle.Net, Desura, BeamDog, Epic Game Launcher - crap, let's just keep 'em all coming! We need more services/clients! :)

And I'm sure Humble would love to bundle it. As would Groupees, Indiegala and Bundlestars. Not going to happen unless the publisher agrees.

It's actually pretty good if you've missed/overlooked/ignored/been otherwise unaware of the bundles that these Phoenix games have been in previously.

All three episodes of SLP have been in various Groupees (all minis, IIRC), and I'm actually missing # 3. You are correct about the second volume of the Cognition soundtrack not being previously bundled. I'm not sure about Moebius, but I would assume that's true as well.

Hm. I also appear to be missing Morningstar somehow, unless I've just been too lazy to redeem the key.

Bleh AC2 and friends... For a game called Assassin's creed, the assassination part is about as bland is it could be.

Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood is way better if you want to be a badass medieval assassin. If you make a mistake while killing, guards immediately spot you and the consequences are far worse. At least there's some tension in it.

I've heard Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood questline is even better, but I haven't played it myself.

Is it ok to be mediocre or bad? LOL I enjoy a lot of games, but i'm not that good at most of them. Anyway I sent a friend invite to you and Spoderman on Steam. My current friends list has exactly 5 people on it. My daughter x 2, my son and 2 friends. I'm an old geezer (in my 40's) who is finally, mostly, moving away from console games and embracing the PC master race. (Am I too old to be a bro?). :)

You're never too old to come to the bro side. All of us suck on KF. The night will go as follows:

We will suck. Alot.

Then DFG or Travathian will join and carry the team to almost winning for a round or two but we will still lose because all of us will die around wave 7 and they will be left alone to try to win.

Then they will tire of carrying us and will call it a night.

Then everyone else will call it a night.

I cant join the suckfest for kf2. I do want to kill sharks with the bros next week, anyone got one left from a 4 pack?

 
The Book of Unwritten Tales collection is a little over $3 on putingate.  Anyone have any experience with these games, they seem kinda bundle'ish but I don't currently own any of them.  Hard to resist putting more good looking point and click adventure games in my backlog.

How to make Steam better?

Make card drops tied to specific progress based achievements.  Sure, some people would just go back to SAM, but it would actually improve the chances people would play the game and possibly increase card prices slightly.
