This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

SeasonalCAG Surfing Steam At Work:

Just got Verizon Unlimited so can check this thread more often so might have to drop the seasonal thing.
I don't know about any ongoing or upcoming Steam sales, and since you're around pretty much all the time, maybe you should. Not fooling anyone with that anyway; you're a seasonal CAG like TrumpCat is a benevolent dictator...cat.

Has anybody tried EA Origin Access?  $30 for a year sounds pretty damn good if it works.  Good selection of stuff I'd want to play.

Is it a streaming thing like NVIDIA's service or do you just get access to the games and have to download/install them as if you owned them?

The second. Since you're going through the Origin launcher, it can restrict your access that way based on whether you're paid up or not. But you otherwise install them just like any other EA/Origin game.

I haven't played it on the PC so can't speak from personal experience but my son has gotten a lot of use out of his sub on the Xbox. Thirty bucks worth, anyway. I wasn't super-impressed with their initial catalog (mainly because I'd already bought/played the major non-sports titles) but I understand it's been growing since then. If it seems worth it to you, it likely is.

Great, thanks!

Might have to pick up the three Transformers games for $25. Never been that cheap on PC as far as I know. Third one is supposed to be Medicare but.....

Hey guys,
Please keep the humble thread "on" topic. I know it's a bundle to raise money for charities, but please don't discuss those charities or the purpose of the bundle. Games only. People need a safe space. Also there's some mod insta deleting anything in the thread at the moment because it got riported. Wouldn't want to see anymore red usernames.

I've had an Access sub for about a year. It has a bunch of games I don't play, plus I get a 10% discount on other stuff I don't buy. I highly recommend it!

I did get a sweet members only dog tag in BF1 though, so that's probably worth it.

I havent played the third but I played the first two and they are ok. nothing great, but worth 4.99 a piece if you like transformers.

So uh, earlier this week I bought a bunch of movies, and I also grabbed what I thought was a sealed box for Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm. I planned to list the game for sale, but then I noticed the bottom of the box was resealed. So I figured, eff it, I opened it, tried out the key on the site, and it says the key is for that game and I can activate it if I want.

The last time I tried activating a game key, it didn't ask me if I wanted to proceed. Is this a new thing? I don't even own SCII. It makes me want to try to get the other two parts of the game for cheap...

So that's how you get a Red name.

Challenge accepted.

Third has a lot of reviews saying it sucks for anywhere near $50, move along unless you can get it cheap. I had the first game on ps3. My kids are getting into Transformers so maybe I'll see how they can do on a PC

I did it for a month back around Sept-Oct. I wanted to do it because FIFA 17 was able to be played early + my month fell in the Battlefield 1 release window so I was able to try that too. I'm not a member anymore simply because I own a lot of the games that I want to play on there. That's what it really boils down to. If there is a good selection of stuff you don't have and you plan on actually playing it, then its definitely a good deal for $5 a month or $30 a year. $30 a year is a bargain really because of the perks. A permanent discount, ability to do trials/play new releases early. For a restricted single publisher platform (meaning only their games), its an interesting business model that deserves some lauding. You'd never see Steam do it sitewide simply because of the sheer amount of games and varying business agreements they'd have to draw up with all the publishers.

GTA5 is a steal at $20.

Bought it on V-Day 2016 from Direct2Drive when it was on sale for $40 and 50% off coupon stacked on top to make it $20.

Also, HR: The Rev is underrated as hell. No, it ain't got the best story + character development - but if you do like open-world Far Cry 3+4 style of gameplay that instead takes place in urban environments (in a dystopian version of Philly) w/ a few twists on the genre (i.e. use on-the-fly gun parts that you can makeshift on-the-fly into other guns during gameplay), can't go wrong w/ that deal.

2 games that I really need to get back to, at some point - but I'm busy w/ Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is fantastic BTW.

$20 would be alright for a price if I could use steam bucks.

I couldn't be the only one who saw Transformers Devastation and was like... hmm.. I'll nibble. Click on it and realize I somehow own it. Is that the one we got on a crazy box sale like 2 years ago or something?

You know, I wonder if I can use zGold in the Latin American store. I get cheaper prices on some things... but it's not worth spending $30 to give it a shot I guess.

Did anyone already mention voting has started in the Sega Make War Not Love thing?

I bet I win again. I'm the best at winning votes. Everyone knows it.

You should be able to check without buying it Try to check out, choose it as an option, then it should prompt you to sign in to your ZGold account and buy top offs if you haven't been topped off yet. Top top top .

It's been talked up during some previous sales, plus it was at that $10 price a few times late in 2016.

I played Devastation on PS3 as a Gamefly rental and I didn't like it at all. The art style is okay, but it leads to some lazy, uninteresting backgrounds. Combat is just button smashing with combos. It wasn't really fun to me and I got to a point where I was stuck at a boss and wasn't entertained enough to try to figure out how to beat him so I quit.

Got motorsport manager. It's pretty good the little I've played(a single race). How the campaign/career is more involved though.

It's basically Legend of Korra / Metal Gear Rising, but with Transformers. How could anyone not like that?

It is really repetitive. Button, button, button, combo button, a few thousand times. I just beat it a month or two ago. On MGR, the sword/ analog stick mechanic made a big difference. IMO.

Finally got my Hybrid Cooler for my 1080 Founder's Edition installed today...was a PITA but it works.

Temps went from 82 degrees to 43 degrees in R6 and it's silent.

(Though there is a buzzing coming from it, apparently a common flaw with their hybrid coolers even in their already assembled cards)

Same thing happened to me, it said I owned none of the unlocks even though I owned all but 2. Had to feed some to my cousin's chiropractor's german shepherd's bot farm.

Last night I dreamed I was on some sort of casino-themed cruise ship and a bunch of you were there. I don't typically remember my dreams in vivid detail and the tendrils of this particular dream are loosening with every passing minute. Nonetheless, I still had a dream, a bunch of you were in it, and let's just say that I'll be talking to my therapist about this one for a long time.

Last night, we played some Secret Ponchos.  Very few of our characters had ponchos, but I don't know if that means the ones with ponchos won for having them or lost for failing to keep them secret.  Anyway, I played some Native American huntress in wolf garb whose special ability was to pounce on someone, knock them over and then stab them.  It only did about 20% damage and was a slow attack to set up so naturally it was the only move I used all night.  I killed almost no one but annoyed everyone which is about a thousand times better.  Everyone else tried to kill me which, when you think about it, was sort of a dick move seeing as how I was a girl in a wolf hat who posed minimal threat.

Tonight we're scheduling Scourge: Outbreak.  It's a game where you shoot people!  Do you like shooting people?  Well, normally you can't do it legally except under very specific circumstances but, in Scourge: Outbreak, you can shoot all the people you want! Fun!
