The daily deal will be one game.  Half Life 3 at 75% off to make up for the rest of the sale.  The clues were there all along.  If you take the first letter of your first game in your wishlist and the first letter of the last game in your wishlist, you'll get HL.  Then if you add up all the winning percentages for each community vote and divide it by how much gabenbux your have in you steam wallet, you'll get a total of 3.  HL3................

While that would be a good deal for HL3 at 75% off and an instant-buy...

That doesn't make up for...

1. Bethesda's crap discounts on All DLC's bought piece-by-piece for both Skyrim + Dishonored;

2. Humble Bundle not even matching the Shadowrun Returns deals (since HB Store gives both Steam keys + DRM-FREE)

3. Wolfenstein: TNO not hitting 75% off or better.

4. Left 4 Dead 3 pre-order not being 75% off.

5. X Rebirth not hitting $5 or less.

6. XCOM EU Complete not hitting $10 or less.

7. Grim Dawn not being 75% off or less.

I'm sure there's more - and I'll add more to the list, when I think of them.

But, that's plenty...for now...

There doesn't seem to be a wide variety of events (they ran into the same ones multiple times), although some do seem to be stat reliant in their outcome, which is nice. However, some events (particularly bad ones) seem to always have the same outcome (the lady in the alley for example). This leads to the scenario where you hit an event and say "Oh, I know what to do here for the best possible outcome."

It's very neat for a first playthough (preferably not solo), but after that I only really see it as a show piece for others who haven't played it yet.

That's kind of similar to Long Live the Queen. You can jot down the stat checks to see if you can get by certain events since they seem to always happen. I never noticed this type of thing in Princess Maker 2/3....course I was younger and don't remember much. I don't know about that other game (something of Dragon Pass)....I have it on GOG and will try it eventually. I think that's just one of the quirks of the choose your own adventure type games...some events/trials and such are always there regardless so those become predictable.

BTW random thought but my favorite choose your own adventure books were the Super Mario ones as a kid though I was always a fan of any sc-fi ones as well...yup I was an interesting one growing up. Spent so much time in the library at school and out of school the librarians knew my name and would tell me when new books I may like where in.

Never even heard of Grim Dawn or Killer is Dead.  Both look potentially amusing.  Neither is close to the discount I need for "Sure, why not buy this game I first heard of a minute ago".

Though KiD is a Deep Silver game that came out in May and is 33% off?  Guess I'll buy it in August at 75% off.  Or wait until October for GOTY edition at 80% off.

Kingdoms Rise will let me set what color the hair is under my helmet :whistle2:k

Grim Dawn is by Crate Entertainment - which includes a bunch of guys who used to work for Iron Lore.

Iron Lore developed one of the best Diablo 2-like ARPG's - Titan Quest: Gold Edition.

Killer is Dead is from Suda51 and Grasshopper.

Since we're at it, let's get into MysterD's Typical Console-to-PC port mode...

I would like to see Killer7, No More Heroes series + Lollipop Chainsaw get PC ports.

Grim Dawn supposedly used a Titan Quest engine too...eh it's wishlisted but I have too many Diablo like games that need playing...will keep an eye once it's out of EA.

Trying to decide if I want to buy the Baldur's Gate games.  I played them way back when they were originally released.  My memory for them is spotty, other than I loved and finished them.  For $5 I may need to buy BG1 and see if I actually play it.

I loved the old BG1 + BG2 games.

And PST, too - while I'm at it.

When The D&D Master Collection was $5 on GG, had to scoop it up - since it was DRM-FREE + and b/c I had enough Blue Coins to blow on it.

I'll eventually get BG1 EE + BG2 EE on Steam - just probably for the new content and so I don't gonna mod it up too much.

I must have missed the GG deal. But I've been eyeing the GOG sales also. I'm leaning towards the EE editions, but you can't beat prices on the original versions when bundled.

I'm surprised Grasshopper ported Killer is Dead to PC instead of Lollipop Chainsaw honestly. Lollipop was their best selling game ever, whereas Killer is Dead sold like crap on PS3 and I imagine the PC version isn't faring much better.

I wish their next game, Let it Die wasn't going to be a free to play game. :whistle2:(

 
Cheap Fox. Two things.

A: Shadowrun Returns takes place in "Seattle" not Seattle. They could have called Mississipapolis and it would change nothing about the game.

2. You asked a while ago but I forgot to reply. 7 Days to Die can be played pvp by switching on or off friendly fire in the options when setting up your game.
 
Anyone got any opinions of Muffin Knight? Looks fun but also looks like bundle fodder. I'm mobile right now so I can't check any details on enhanced steam

I'm still sour that I blew around 20 bucks for the collection from GOG before I realized it goes on sale for 5 relatively often at GG

also, given how much i'm digging rayman legends, i may just buy the rayman pack from GOG instead of waiting on a steam key for origins

Maybe they released Killer Is Dead to PC to test the waters, to see if they rake in a lot of money and decide if they should port Lollipop Chainsaw over to the PC.

Hard to beat bundle pricing, yeah.

AFAIK - the old editions are much more moddable than the new EE Editions.

Personally - I love BG games, so I'll probably wind-up w/ them EE Editions later...when they get that kind of cheap and bundled, as well. .

As long as you play all the Rayman games you get from GoG ASAP, I'd say you'd have done alright. :D

B/c if you backlog them and Steam has it on sale for a price you'd have paid for - well, that'd leave a sour taste in your mouth.

I know how I'd feel - since Rayman Origins supposedly is DRM-FREE on Steam.

There's where I'd want it.

Everyone did. You could get nine cards for voting and a tenth card for joining a team. So everyone had the chance to get all ten cards for free (via trading to remove duplicates). The other two votes were in case you missed a vote or two, you could still have a full set.

Yes. It's a full 3D platformer which is kind of a rare thing on Steam. I liked it and thought it was fun.

I played it from whatever bundle I got it from. It's decently fun (kind of an expanded highly influenced (rip-off) of Super Crate Box), looks pretty good, good amount of unlockable characters and their powers. I do have to say that the controls suck badly....I tried both the Xbox360 controller and the keyboard controllers and both were mapped OK but wow is the game floaty. I've died so many times because of the floaty jumping and moving. That's a huge no for me and likely the reason I don't really play it anymore. Just play the free Super Crate Box if you think you will enjoy this type of game.

I just received a Purple Token from crafting a sale badge. Only about a week too late. :oldman:

Would have been nice not to get so many dupe sale bg/emotes, too.

Should've been another 3 imo. Would have run them across the last day and provided the extra two in case you miss a vote.

 
Any last day recommendations out there of non-featured games for someone looking to clean out funbux?

Picked up ArcadeCraft, Post Master, and some hidden object games this morning. Need some more stuff to lock in for next week's bundle flood.
