The answer is yes to both questions. The expansion adds lot, but there is also a lot to do in the base game alone. You could sink probably 100+ hours into the base game if you really wanted it. That said, the expansion adds a ton of new cities to deliver to, so it adds a lot of variety to the game.

If the game seems like something that you think you would like, then I would bite on the bundle with the expansion since it's much cheaper that way. It's a beautiful game and has hooked people who wouldn't usually be fans of sims. On the other hand, if you really are on the fence about or have no clue if you'll like it, the base game gives you plenty to do and is a good purchase by itself.

Unrelated, but does anyone have experience with Fortresscraft Evolved? It's yet another Minecraft clone, but looks pretty neat and is cheapish.

As I understand it, Watch Dogs sold like hotcakes at release (which was all of a month ago) so I'd be surprised to see better than 15-20% off on it. I wouldn't bat an eye to see it as a Daily Deal for a whopping 15% off just to get it on the board but without giving too much away.

It's a fun game but if you weren't willing to buy it at release, it probably won't be worth it to you at 15% off either and you should wait.

Agreed. South Park is only 33% and I imagine it sold worse than Watch Dogs and is an older release. From what I can tell, Ubi is quick to have deep sales on console versions of their games, but go at a snail's pace in regards to sales on the PC versions.

I played FC3 first and liked it much more than BD (which I never finished). BD felt like a one-note joke which went on too long (granted, it IS by design a one-note joke) and the color scheme was horrendous and kept me from even wanting to play it versus the tropical lushness of FC3. Also, Vaas.

Its a great game to just play and zone out to. There is a radio function to play music or internet radio though the game. I had a lot of fun saving up and buying my own truck. My only issue with the game is that I'm not the best at following traffic laws, so my speeding citations add up.

Can anyone give me any guidance on the XCOM sale? The game seems pretty cool, but I'm not sure what would be the best option. I'm weighing the complete edition with the DLC vs the pack with Enemy Unknown and The Bureau.

All of The Bureau DLC (got the base game from tremor)

Mafia 2 Betrayal of Jimmy DLC (1 DOTA 2 key from a trader)

Agarest Zero (Got for 2 TF2 keys + 1 ToD, total cost was $2.24 in Steam wallet after selling cards)

Might buy Urban Trials, even though it's a really crappy Trials Evo clone, since it has cards and it's pretty cheap.

Okay, people with more time and patience than money play Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, and DOTA on Steam for long periods of time to get in-game gemgaws that other people who play these games find valuable. These people then hoard these items for sale on the Steam market and use them as commodities to trade on non-Steam forums for games. Other people broker games for these items in order to sell them on the Steam market to make more Steam wallet or to resell them on non-Steam forums for real-world money in the currency of their choosing.

I think that about sums it up.

I'm a huge fan of the old XCOM games and the new one is great. Personally I'd grab the complete edition since Enemy Within adds a ton of new stuff like the genetics lab, mecs, enemies, and more. Some of it can make your team a bit over powered, but I still had fun with all the mods you can add to your troops. I imagine that once you get into it you'll want the extra stuff anyway and would kick yourself for not grabbing it.

Or if you're lazy like me, buy them on the Steam market with Steam wallet and trade them for games. The only thing you can't buy from the market is refined material.

Teams DO switch daily and each day resets the point count to keep it fair so that another team can win. That's at least how the FAQ reads.

Actually, hasn't purple been in the lead the entire time? There are tokens that allow you to switch teams, but I don't imagine someone would switch to anything other team than the one currently in the lead (unless you absolutley have to be on the same virtual team with the rest of your friends, you stalker). If the points you accrue also transfer to your new team, that would go along way toward explaining the massive jump purple has on the rest. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go ask wtf I'm doing with my life now that I've spent 6 minutes explaining a theory on a stupid virtual online marketing ploy that up until now I would have sworn I didn't give a fuck about.

I hope that's the case as it would be the most fair -- and make the most money for Valve, amirite? It's not as clearly stated as you seem to think though.

Everyone is randomly assigned to a team when they click the "Join a Team" button above or when they craft a badge. Your points count toward your team’s daily total.

Each day the team with the most points wins. 30 members of that team who contributed points that day will win 3 games off their Wishlist. Make sure to update your Wishlist.Anyone who contributed points to that win will get 2 bonus Summer Sale trading cards. Everyone else who contributed points that day will get 1 bonus card.

The points are totaled and a new day begins at 10am PDT.

It seems to state that the points reset, but I see nothing about teams being reset, unless you read into it a bit.

Nope, Pink was in the lead at one point. Purple didn't start off that way.

I had the same problem, I don't know where I need to look that state team colors change each day. I'm now more confused than 5m ago.

It's a popular game that appeals to the lowest common denominator and will sell a bajillion copies no matter what. And they know it.

You're lucky they are even giving a token 15% and that even was pretty much only to get themselves featured on the front page of the big sale.
