People always get their panties in a bunch over all that Sims DLC and look I'm not going to say EA is a saint here, but I think the way Steam handles addons by lumping them all as "DLC" whether they are a full blown expansion or virtual hat doesn't really convey what you're getting. Also people aren't considering that Sims 3 came out in 2009 and those expansions came out 6 months or more apart over the span of years.

Sims has been that way since the very beginning too. Even Sims 1 had expansions. That's just what they do. They create addons that add new content and gameplay styles and release those every so often because otherwise a sandbox game with no clear campaign or goals can get old after a while.

I'm not saying they don't milk the hell out of it in other ways, the Sims store crap where they sell a chair or a hairdo per piece is totally milking that and yes you should all go to moreawesomethanyou.com or tpb or whatever and get that crap there. But the expansion packs I think are actually worth it if you are into the game and you don't have to buy them all at once. In fact that weren't meant to be bought all at once. You buy the base and then see if there are any other packs that interest you and maybe get one or two now, or maybe just play the base for a while and when you get tired of it get an expansion later.

People shit a brick over Railworks too but that's also a case where you just buy the base and then get what interests you and maybe get some other stuff later if you feel like it.

I think gamers have been trained to feel like we need every single piece of DLC ever or it's just not the complete experience, and certainly publishers are in large part responsible for that, but not every game is set up that way.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but are you still eligible to win the games even if you don't craft? I changed my password without knowing that it would lock me out of everything for 5 days so I can't do much of anything at the moment besides get some cards from games I already own.

You have to contribute points to your team so you have to craft at least once or you don't qualify.

On the bright side, you literally have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than winning those games so you're not going to win anyway.

The only problem I have with the Sims is the same problem I have with Dynasty Warriors.

They purposely don't include features so that they can put them on sale as expansions later.

Maybe they do require a shit ton of work and it isn't financially feasible to release it "complete" but it still sits ill with me that the expansions are the same shit every time.

That said, I picked up Sims 3 with University because I really liked University in Sims 2.

I can't quite tell if Valve has a hand in the odd way that different teams so far seem to take a huge lead each day compared to previous days. I could see them just heavily skewing the team assignments each day to give them a huge advantage.

The silver lining is that at least there are more people churning out game badges, so there will be more booster packs being sent out.

I'm far from being a fighting game expert, and I'm not exactly a purist either. I'm just used to a certain kind of gameplay, and Injustice plays very differently, so I'm going to complain. I like simplistic engines - it's just that Injustice feels way too simple. (I know it's not. It just feels that way.)

I'm in no way saying it sucks - it just felt like I won't enjoy it as much as I'd like to.

I am digging the story, though. It's much better than the crap DC puts out these days...

Purist was probably the wrong word. I just meant that if you've spent most of your time with Capcom/SNK, it will definitely feel different. One thing I really enjoy about it is getting to those trigger spots to whip shit in the background at your opponent or kicking them into the second level of the stage. It's definitely not my favorite in terms of actual fighting mechanics, but, as you already concurred, the story is pretty friggin cool.

Exactly. And I'm only gonna clear out my wishlist if my team (Green) is gonna win. This is the first day it might, and it might be the last day Green wins. It only took me an hour to make said wishlist in the first place, if I have all the games written down, it should take 15 - 30 minutes tops to readd everything.

You could make a good case that The Sims started the trend with the expansions they've put out over the years that only consist of various prefab models and different skins. At the current 66% off, it's still $146 for all of those things I could make myself if I had a suitable editor. Or Steam Workshop.

One of the most popular tags for Sims 3 is "Microtransactions." I'd just Playfire that shit.

It was clearly mentioned early on that it was the top 3 games... but only on the "Free Games" tab under the "The Rewards" section of the FAQ page. They've since updated the "How It Works" section to reflect this.

The joining a team wording under "How It Works" is still open to interpretation either way, since it doesn't mention that teams are fixed for the duration of the sale (unless you use one of those items.)

Except they're not microtransactions. Well the ones Steam sells aren't. There are in game microtransactions but that's not what we're talking about.

You damned kids think everything is a DLC. In my day we had expansions and they had a bunch of stuff not just one damned hat and they came in a box and sometimes with a map too. *shakes cane*

But they are also running a play games for achievments get Greenmangaming credit ongoing rolling promotion type thing (which curiously doesn't require running their crappy client; I would think they would want to promote it *shrug*).

Oh and don't use SAM and if you do don't tell anyone here because they'll report you. And if they don't like you they might just report you anyway even if you don't use it. Also Idiotekque thinks people who use SAM are evil pirates who will make poor destitute Greenmangaming go out of business.

And if you don't know what SAM is Google is your friend.

I don't know what it is, but I never seem to boot-up strategy games or anything of the sort.

I've played and liked Black & White 1; B&W2 - all unfinished. 

I did like some Sins of a Solar Empire.

I have tons of strategy games - so, is there one strategy game y'all think could turn the tide and really get me into actually playing the games I have in this genre?

I own most of the Civ games; Homeworld 1 + 2; Starcraft 1 & Expansion; Starcraft 2: WOL; WC3 + expansion; plenty of Total War games; and tons more.

 
Is Cold, Cold Heart the story DLC for Arkham Origins? Only one that didn't get 75% off which also makes it more expensive than the season pass...

Darkfall:  It's an MMO... Be wary.. it's lots of PVP and botting and the developer isn't exactly trustworthy.
