Just a note b/c there are some confusing statements made 6 or 7 posts up from this one, but the AoE 2 HD price mistake has NOT been fixed as of just now.  It's still listed at $2.50 on Amazon and it still gives base game + expansion.

I've been around since shortly before the 2011 Summer Sale and I think this is my least favorite big sale promotion so far. It does nothing to get people playing their games, the chance of winning anything of significance is nearly nill and the the only game DLC you can get out of it are F2P crap.

I suppose last Winter's sale was pretty much the same, but it didn't feel as fake and ridiculous as this whole color team thing.

Because whoever was supposed to monitor the algorithms that adjust the "count" went to sleep. I swear the counters were static on the first day of the sale and you had to refresh the page for a new total. Also, why is it the total climbing never adjust it's overall speed for any team? your telling me that there are just as many people buying/crafting right now mid-flash sale at 3 AM as there were when it first changed over? or any other time throughout the day? I'm pretty sure "stealing" points from another team just means that someone supposedly used their team change token, taking there points with them, yet out of my 130 friend the total for who's on what team remains the same (23 for lowest team, 26 for highest, others in between) Due to the severe rarity of the tokens themselves, it's painfully apparent that the number of team change overs is pure fantasy. This is depressingly sad. I guess Valve's tactics aren't really producing the sales they thought, or they wouldn't have to resort to this obvious fraud and dickery to inflate them. They do realize that if they played every team closer it would have the desired effect they are seeking, don't they? Damn con artist have gotten so lazy.

There's actually a bunch of people on reddit organizing which days for each team to craft their cards and such. Not sure how much of an effect that would have but so far it's going according to schedule. If it keeps up we'll see pink win tomorrow, blue on monday, and then repeat the cycle for the next 5 days.

 
It's not actually the humongous 200k lead that's weird to me.   Who knows what it'll be after another 10 hours though.

It's the fact that the other four have been in a dead heat with the same points levels for the nearly the whole day.

The stealing points thing is from a token item similar to the change team ones. The static counters could just be an update Valve is doing. The buy order stuff was all static at first and the numbers were completely off but now it seems to be working.

As for the points being fudged, seems likely. I don't think there's that many people interested in this to keep crafting all the time. And the whole "four teams have been tied for the entire day" thing.

Yup. That's the part that seems fake. Four teams within 2,000 of each other....when we're dealing with numbers currently approaching 220,000.

Its possible that maybe Valve just "automatically" sorts new Summer Sale team entrants to specific teams so that each color wins a similar number of times. Handicapping the results, like golf, to reach a degree of parity....I could be okay with that, as it'd suck to be put on a team that never wins anything. ....But how does one explain the four teams being tied all day? That's ridiculous. That makes me feel like none of what we do matters.

 
Went ahead and crafted a badge being on fixed team team green, figure the cards should still be worth just enough to not make it much of a loss, if any and mine as well take a few cent shot at getting free games even if the odds are awful. 

Which means another team will end up winning it now  :razz:.
