L4D 2 is a lot easier than KF, especially if your teammates stick together, you just basically run and gun your way through the map. The community in L4D 2 is pretty toxic though.

I actually would vote KF. If he just likes killing shit then there's nothing more satisfying than doing so in KF. The enemies feel spongy to me in L4D. KF can require strategy, but if you set the difficult lower then it's not as much strategy and more blasting zombies. And you can solo it with no team.

It and FO3 used to always hit 75% off during sales, but I'm fairly sure that they stuck with 66% off during at least one of the last two big sales.
 
I'm voting for Nether.  Environment looks cool and I don't ever rock any PVP.  For $3 only 3 weeks after release I'm sure the gameplay is pretty weak but I like the art and Metro LL is stuttering on me.

It's a lot easier once you get the hang of it, but imo KF is easier to start off with since there's no route to get lost on or trapped in.

Oh...just want to reiterate that Spelunky is damn awesome and completely worth 3.74. Buy it and play it right away...you'll get hooked and then it won't matter when it's in a bundle.

Just be aware the game is brutal and takes no prisoners. You'll either get good or rage quit.

I did see one youtube review on the updated patch which said its 100x better. Maybe I'm the only one...

Yeah, I've played it a little. I like it. It's like a different/nicer looking version infestation. The enemies are more aggressive and will spawn around you so there's less of a stealth element which can be a little frustrating when you start out weaponless, but overall I think it's good. I assume better with a team.

 
Was tempted to grab Lost Planet 3 since the multiplayer in One was incredibly fun back in the day but 5 minutes of Youtube'ing shows it looks like a horrible Gears of War clone.

 
I'm surprised Lost Planet 2 isn't discounted.

Or maybe Capcom actually realized that it'd be a dick move to lower the price of a game that will die in a few months... (Looks like none of their GFWL games have any discount. Wow...)

I just tried Fable III and it wouldn't let me download the 'free' DLC in the game, plus the bothered to yank it from Steam entirely a while so some shit is going on. Microsoft is being vague and half assed.

Like most Egosoft X games - wait a long time before buying, if they ain't dirt-cheap.

They usually need tons of patches and overhauls, til they become any good or even great.

So, yeah - call me when it's 75% off or better.

I found out what was causing my Metro Last Light issues. After Google searching for a bit I read about the Physx options but couldn't find them in the video options, so after a bit I gave up. Just checked again now and saw that (for some reason) they're located in the game options. Turned it down to normal and now the gave is butter smooth with everything else back up.

Damn Physx that's some badly optimized shit, it feels like every game that I use it on has issues with it I'm not sure why Nvidia doesn't either fix it or scrap it.

Make sure that your physx is up to date. Last time I install Metro LL it replace my Physx with out of date version.

Is Titan Quest Gold worth $4? I actually did buy the Humble THQ Bundle, but I gave my copy to a friend for Christmas and then managed to talk myself into thinking I'd actually like to give it a shot about a year later.

It looks like it's been 25¢ cheaper on Bundle Stars, but I have no idea how often the BS store repeats sales... and while that is 25 Metro LL's, it's not like that matters since they're releasing the redux version soon. :razz:

Anyway, opinions?

PhysX worked pretty well on my end. I never have problems with bad performance unless it's the very old titles that uses the old software and needed tinkering to run off from the driver instead. What's your GPU model?

You could give the f2p War of the Roses a test run before buying. Combat is the same in that. Personally, I don't think it would translate well to a controller.

M&B is incredible. Not pretty to look at, and takes a while to figure out all the nuances of the overworld and party mechanics, but once (if) you get the hang of it, it's hard to stop playing. There's thousands of gameplay videos on the youtube, you'll know if it's something you would enjoy after a few minutes.

I dont think that supports controller, thats a pc nerd game which means mouse and keyboard only, I don't think that game would be fun to play on the couch, but Lost Planet 3 is and Spelunky.

In my (attempts at) defense, I didn't have a capable computer to run it at that time. Nor did I see myself joining the "master-race" of pc gaming. But it's fine, with Witcher 1 and 2 and then modding skyrim, I should be good for a while.
