DRM free downloads. You're essentially getting the GOG installers.

What do you mean by US only GC? GG has a .com site which is open to US and you can pay with any CC or Paypal.

These are not GOG keys, they are direct DLs from GG. I forget what people have said about the DLs, I think some people said some are the same as the GOG version and others are different.

 
About 4 years ago I bought a gaming laptop because I needed something to take with me on the road as I traveled a lot for work. I ended up choosing an ASUS ROG laptop and its pretty much been bulletproof. It has run day and night for the last couple of years and it does a great job with games like Skyrim. The screen is only 1366x768, so that does have a lot to do with its long-term viability as a gaming machine, but my point is that it can be done! And that ASUS ROG is a good choice... though they may run a tad over a grand these days. 

I've always built my own desktop machines (we have several in the house) and I'll definitely do it again soon because the laptop is getting a little long in the tooth, but it suited my needs of portability at the time. 

 
I went complete #FAKECAG and bought an Alienware m14x about two years ago and I've absolutely loved it.  Nice and portable for road trips and I can game in the living room while watching TV with the family, since my desktop PC is relegated to a back room.

It doesn't max everything out, but the graphics are good enough.  Love being able to game from hotels or sometimes I bring it to work.

 
I have an older model of the Lenovo mentioned above, I think mine has a 750m card in it.  It can play every game I've tried on it with high settings.  Of course I mainly play older games since I get them for cheap.  I've played Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV, Bioshock Infinite, and a bunch of other games all on highest settings.  As fun as it is to say, "get a desktop", I already have a desktop.  I don't need another desktop.  I need a powerful, portable computer.  Look around and wait a bit for a deal and you will be able to find something that will play games on high settings for $1000.

My only computer right now is an Asus ROG and its been great. I've had it for over 2 years and it still works fine, I have no complaints with it. It did cost me a little over a grand though.

When I try to use Visa gift cards on international sites, the sale is declined, since the card can only be used in the US. I believe it depends where the payment processor is located. I have not been able to use gift cards in the past on Bundlestars, Indie Gala, or GamersGate. I had the same issue until recently with GMG.

Edit - Also have not been able to use gift cards on GOG.

...or just make a new PayPal account specifically for it if you really want to hide your addiction from your wife, but Hallmark specials tell me this kind of behavior leads to ruined marriages.

Just so you guys know, for businesses (like GG) you can use a debit or credit card to make a purchase using paypal without ever having to log into an account or anything. Just choose paypal as your payment method, click on Use Debit or Credit, enter your card info, and pay like any other CC operator.

I tell myself it's not drugs or sex addiction. So if this is the worst thing I'm doing, she has nothing to worry about.

And she is vaguely aware I'm buying things - I just don't need for her to know the specifics.

I like the alt Paypal account idea, but I suspect that having such an account could lead down the road to ruin as you suggest.

Pretty irrelevant now, but it occurs to me that the primary reason I didn't go to [wherever] to buy keys with Paypal is because I was looking to use my bulging Steam wallet. Buying keys via some other site may have technically been "cheaper" but it would have been cash out of my pocket which would defeat the whole point of having the GabeN Funbux. Better to drop $25 worth of Funbux than to spend $18 out of my checking account -- at least until the local pizza place takes Steam monies.

Our hauls are surprisingly similar. Makes sense seeing as we both spent an insane amount, and mostly dealt with shady Russians this sale. Waggles was my partner in crime, good stuff.

Well, apparently the TF2 key market would have bombed if it went lower because people buy hundreds to trade for keys.

That plus the hacker situation is why the community begged Valve not to drop it any lower.

For me it's because I bought a Focus Home Weekly key from someone for 1 TF2 key. The key cost $1 when the bundle launched and came with a myriad of games I didn't have yet (aside from Divinity 2), so it was an incredible bargain to only have to pay an extra 90 cents for it. GoT was one of the games, so I started looking at the cheap DLC, which inspired Spodes to do the same. Maybe people saw it in our activity logs and decided to join?

 
I'm really sad there was never a solid deal on Ticket to Ride plus DLC.  I picked it up myself in the Humble Android Bundle 7 a couple months ago and told my father about it.  He was too late to pick it up and it expired.  Hopefully it will show up in a bundle again soon. He used to play the Xbox version all the time and was even ranked pretty high (I think top 10 or top 5 at one point), but now that version seems to have completely died out.

I really limit my purchases, and I've only bought a few things, but sure enough, my wife will still ask me about that dollar I spent...

She's just paying me back though, I'm the cheapass and she enjoys pointing out any purchases I make. She'll refer to it as a "spending spree".
