Steam: King's Bounty Series 75% off
I'll second that notion. That original Genesis game was the best, spent so many hours on that awesomeness.

I think there's a PC version of the original that you can download from somewhere, don't remember where though.
That's pretty much what King's Bounty: The Legend is, but quite a few steps beyond a simple graphical update. Since what you're asking for doesn't exist, you get something better for less than 12 bucks. I suggest you buy it.

Whoo! I was interested in this during Steam's winter sale, and saw some videos on Youtube about it and became interested enough to buy it...and got back in time for the deals to change.

Thanks OP. :D
Anyone managed to snag the music from the first title?

http://www.kings-bounty.com/eng/legend/misc.php

Links don't work anymore....

I would like to grab those files too.
Looks like they moved everything into a /legend/ subfolder on the russian site when AP came out, and those off-site english links weren't updated -- just add the /legend/ in front of each link manually. So http://www.kingsbounty.ru/music/Warlord Horns.mp3 should be http://www.kingsbounty.ru/legend/music/Warlord Horns.mp3

there's also working links on the russian site, but they link to slightly differently named files and there's also 4 more of them. So you'll probably need to download both sets and figure out what overlaps with what.

Wow, great sluthing, you get a cookie :D

Anyways the only file that isn't in the larger russian site is this file:

http://www.kingsbounty.ru/legend/music/Necromancer Eclipse.mp3

Suggest getting all of them from the russian link, and then click my link above to get a "complete" album, then head on over to AP to grab all of those. They are the same on both sites for AP.

snatched them all

Looks like the older mp3s from the first one has some MP3 tags on them while the new ones from AP don't.

22 files in total. Should fill a CD.
man i'd pay $100 for the original Kings Bounty with just updated graphics.
Heh, I'd totally pay $100 for Planescape: Torment or Fallout 1 with updated graphics. Fallout 1 is still a blast to play, ten years later.

I enjoyed my time with KB: The Legend, though according to one review, AP is less... crazy. The crazy was a good thing! The silly humor, or absurdity of divorcing a zombie wife for a frog princess (with better stat boosts!) was part of the charm and made up for the otherwise non-existent story. AP is somewhat tempting, but I might have had enough KB with the original.

played AP demo and it wasn't bad. I like those tactics type games although it's been awhile since I've played one like that - unless you count Dragon Age Journeys lol. $5 isn't bad for the first game if it's the same stuff. I'll consider it, but I bought a ton of RPGs over the holidays...

Thanks OP, I got AP during the holiday sale, but it's nice to have both games on Steam (even though I have a disc copy of the original)

And don't forget to check the 'music' subfolder of the install directory for the Ogg files.
do note that a gold edition of KB:AP is supposed to be released later with additional content, but in it's current state it is already a great game! value for $!
The only Gold Edition I could find reference to was the Legend+AP pack.
For those hungry for additional content now, check out this (beta) mod from the devs.

I really enjoyed the original King's Bounty and liked how each boss (which I believe there was 25) had their own personality and army setup. There was nothing like quickly finding the 3 maps to be able to get a horde of dragons to beat the first few bosses. I bought KB Legends recently and have been enjoying it but miss that personality a bit. I bought the Gold version for Amored Princess and to have it on Steam.

Rats, if I had known, I would've gotten the Gold pack for $11.25 instead of just AP for $9.99. Great deal...

Ordered these on 01/07/10 all under Used Condition. Lost Odyssey arrived on 01/09/10 and the rest arrived today on 01/13/10. All games included their retail case and manual.

 1. :ps2: Shadow of the Colossus [Greatest Hits] $7.56 [Discounted to $1]
 2. :360: Ninety-Nine Nights $11.38
 3. :360: Ace Combat 6 $13.74
 4. :360: Lost Odyssey $14.23
 5. :360: Saints Row 2 $11.37
 6. :360: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts $9.39 [Discounted to $1]
+$8 Shipping, +$4.61 Sales Tax, -$5 Discount = $60.32

:ps2: Shadow of the Colossus [GH] -Case has dents in it in the front and back. Disc has minor blemishes and minor scratches.
:360: Ninety-Nine Nights - Case has minor blemishes, almost looks new if it weren't for the smudges. Disc looks brand new.
:360: Ace Combat 6 - Case looks new until you wave it in the light, then minor scratches pop up [it also has both English and French on the case]. Disc has scratches and blemishes on it, nothing too major.
:360: Lost Odyssey - The ugliest one by far. The case is typical one you see in GameStop stores; stickers, dents, some tears, large scratches and blemishes.
The design to hold all 4 discs is stupid [3 discs go onto the holder and one is placed in an envelope] but I can't blame GoHastings for that. All the discs have long, narrow scratches like someone was sketching and there are blemishes everywhere.
:360: Saints Row 2 - Case has scratches and a sticker. Disc has a lot of small, tiny scratches that can only been seen in the light.
:360: Banjo-Kazooie - Arrived brand new even though it was ordered used. Wrapped in plastic and the Xbox 360 seal was still on the case opening.

I think it was a worthy buy, with Lost Odyssey being the black sheep. At least it works... so far.
