Steam: Meridian4 50% off sale

wow

really hard to pass up.

I can see myself wanting 4 of them out of the pack... and have to justify just buying the rest for another 5.... but not sure if I'd really want them...

too bad one can't give the rest away somehow.

This is a Great Deal.
Too bad I already bought it during the Holiday Sale (minus Larva Mortus and Obulis).

I wish people who already purchased a pack could get an additional discount on anything they add to it later. (I've been paranoid about buying any packs; worried that they will add something right after I buy it)

oh, that's something to worry about.

yeah once you buy a pack, additions aren't included huh. yuck.

Played the shadowgrounds ones on GameTap, pretty good mindless fun I thought. may just have to get this.. STEAM!!!!!! (shouted in my best Kirk voice instead of Khan)... its my bane, so many good packs and deals.

Free sounds good. I'm more interested in Shadowgrounds, downloading the demo now. Crusader: No Remorse & No Regret were great games back in the PC days, I'll see if it gives me the same tingles as those. 3/4 isometrics has been sorely lacking ever since FPS came to town.

Shadowgrounds isn't isometric.

Also, Shadowgrounds has far more in common with Alien Breed, than Crusader.

Also ended up buying Gumboy Crazy Adventures from this sale and really like it. Really cool platformer for $2.50.

And after playing RIP a bit, it's quite fun as well. Really simple shooter along the lines of Crimsonland or Robotron, so if you like that style of game at all, excellent purchase for $2.50. I'm up to 94 games in my Steam game list, kinda disgusts me but I've been loving their sales.

It really would have been wise to pony up the extra buck and a half to get the Gumboy 2-pack, if you enjoy the game so much.

It's worth mentioning that I enjoyed Spacetrader. It is a simple space trading game that doesn't take itself too seriously. Buy low, sell high. No need to memorize prices all that much.

The schtick is that it is built off the free version of the Quake 3 engine. So you explore space ports in 3D, finding occasional hidden traders and collecting cargo that is just scattered around everywhere. Bounty hunter missions are plentiful and pit you against hoards of thugs and a boss thug with Quake 3 style blasting, only without the cooler weaponry, sadly.

For $5, it should be some good, stupid fun. Of course, the entire Meridian4 lineup seems to count as good, stupid fun.

Does the Shadowgrounds Demo ever end? I'm on level 3, been playing for almost an hour, and I think I've had enough of the game (definitely not very similar to Crusader).

Cool game, but my character feels too slow and gets surrounded/stuck by the enemies and NPCs too often. Two of the red humanoid enemies with their double-rockets are also very frustrating to deal with in narrow hallways.

I found shadowgrounds survivor to be the more enjoyable game, but both are much more fun in co-op
with the free larva mortus- true it is not steam, when you sign up for their twitter, they email you the code. You download the game off their website, enter the key and are good to go.

The game plays like a smash tv rpg with missions. Doesn't run widescreen, but the gameplay and leveling up quickly becomes addictive.
If I get the complete pack, I suppose the Gumboy add on isn't included?
Nope. Gumboy Tournament (which isn't an add-on, btw; it's a standalone game) wasn't published by Meridian 4 (it was self-published by the developer), so, that's why it's not in the Meridian 4 Complete Pack.

Ah well. I went with just the Shadowlands pack. Had to be honest with myself as to how much of the Merdian Four Pack I would actualyl sit down and play.

I picked up the Shadowlands pack. I played a demo of Survivor and liked it. For $2.50 extra, the 1st one was a great deal.

What are you top pics from these games?

I'm assuming so far that Shadowgrounds pack ($10), and Larva Mortus ($5) are definite purchases. But I want to know if it's justified to buy the complete pack or just a few of them. If those are the 2 best I'll just stick with those.

Like I said, Gumboy is pretty cool, and RIP is entertaining and cheap if you like that style of game, which you presumably do if you're getting Larva Mortus. If you're definitely buying Shadowgrounds and Larva Mortus it might be worth grabbing the complete pack.

Honestly, I probably SHOULD have bought the complete pack since I'm already $15 into this sale and I'm eyeballing Space Trader a bit, but oh well. Been enjoying short, simple, cheap games like this lately.

Obulis is a ton of fun, and Gumboy is pretty cool as well. Might as well pick up the rest of the pack for a couple more bucks.

To whoever asked about Gumboy Tournament, I wouldn't worry about it. It's primarily a multiplayer game....and no one plays it.

Not in the complete pack - but thankfully its included in the 50% off sale. Note that the "80-level single player campaign" is actually 20 levels with 4 game modes. Don't know if you'll find many online opponents (I'm just now buying it) but it does offer split-screen play (& LAN).

I've got everything but Larva Mortus and Obulis and am trying to decide whether to snatch them. I've played the Larva Mortus Demo, but any thoughts on Obulis?

Ugh, I'm a terrible CAG. After spending $15 picking up the Shadowgrounds pack, RIP, and Gumboy, I'm buying Obulis, Chains, and Tank Universal. $27.50 for less games than the complete pack.

Oh well. Nickel and dimed myself on this one.

Odd, I bought the complete pack last night before Chains was added but today when I started Steam it was listed and I've installed it. At first I wasn't even sure where it came from as there wasn't even a store page for it yet. Are you sure other previous purchasers aren't having this added to their pack for free as well?
Chains, the vector graphics, physics-driven puzzle game from 2DEngine.com and Meridian4, is now available on Steam. Players who've purchased the Meridian4 Complete Pack will receive Chains at no additional cost.
Looks like it's safe to buy early.

I bit the bullet... I have a hard time passing up the complete packs at 50% off... I'll grab the ID games one when it goes on sale again...
