Not sure if you know this but Forge was like $1.75 not even a month ago... I mean best of luck - I just don't see that happening on any forum. I really try not to post on mis-prices but this one would literally have you just sitting on the post forever.

Hey, guys. If you haven't spotted it already, there's another annoying regional sale going on right now. The Polish Origin store has Sleeping Dogs (digital limited edition) for a little over four bucks. A lot of people have been using Firefox + noscript to log in (using their own accounts) and buy it with Paypal. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. Note: It's a Steamworks game, so you get a Steam key, and it's not region locked. You can also still load it into Origin, but I suspect the two are tied, so don't expect to be getting two copies. :) Also, it's apparently only letting people buy it once per account, so no multiple quantities.

I, on the other hand, haven't been having the same luck, with my payment failing for some reason, so if anyone's already got this game and is able to buy from the Polish Origin store, I'd really appreciate the assist.

(Also worth mentioning, it's even cheaper in the Russian store (about 3.30 or so), but that version is region locked. Still, if region locks don't matter to you, or you're in the RU region, you can save an extra buck.)

Edit: If you're using noscript, apparently you need to unblock Digital River.

Thanks a lot CthulhuSaves. I can confirm that Firefox and NoScript work absolutely fine and the key activates fine in Steam (it is the Limited Edition too and I'm in the UK).

I wish I could buy another copy but now that I know it works, if you want to send me your Origin details (if you trust me enough) then I'll be happy to try and repurchase and login under you user details instead of mine and try it again, although I think the PayPal payment MIGHT be an issue (not too sure but I'll use my PayPal and see what happens).

Let me know either way via PM and cheers for the info. Appreciate it :)

UPDATE:

After trying dozens of times with either Polish Origin/Paypal errors and almost giving up at one point, I finally managed to get CthulhuSaves a Steam key. Had to resort to a fresh install of a Virtual machine and to create another Origin alias and use another family member's PayPal account just for it to go through properly (didn't know which bit was causing the issue) but it worked. Enjoy it mate :)

Don't mess with Origin guys. They use one of the most horrible payment services ever know; Digital River and that can screw you accounts and flag them as "at risk" and you may not be able to buy anything from their store again with the retard "Payment Authorisation Failed" error

I really like this deal as well and purchased it after getting the news somewhere else.

But I don't think these retailer deals should be posted in this thread unless it's a group buy effort. One thing I really appreciate is the relative lack of off-topic chatter when compared to other threads. Instead, I would post it in the general Steam deals thread (a link is on the FP), an Origin thread (if there is one, I never bothered to look), or start your own thread in the appropriate forum section.
