Well, Portal is listed as being part of SteamPlay, which is Valve's system where if you purchase on one platform, you own it on the other as well. While this is just speculation, obviously, seems reasonable to think that owning it on PC/Mac would then transfer to linux as well once available. Hey, it's free so you're not out anything by grabbing it now and hoping.
