Now I have to decide on whether to go through with it or not. I think I'll see how this goes with affa and getting things fixed before I send Paypal or retract my bid.

i've yet to hear him respond -- well, that's not true. first he told me the guy bid $6, then later bid $11, which was obviously a lie. now he just posts and doesn't actually respond to any of the specific issues people have brought up.

Starmask - be a man and have integrity, or be a snake and hide in the grass. I don't really care, just make up your mind what you are and act accordingly.

EDITED TO ADD:
Issues I know of:
1) Threads of Fate should be mine for $10, post 299
2) Verloren should win Final Fantasy Origins-complete $9.00, post 301
3) karma is a bish is overcharged for dragonball - his winning bid was $11, not $12, post 318

probably other issues.
someone pointed out issues #1 and #2 above gave 'Amc5kidz' the highest overall bid at the very last second. I don't know what was at stake for the highest bid, but fixing this would also change the highest overall bidder.

Yup same here.

But to cheer everyone up, I will post the song that has been stuck in my head for the past five and a half hours, and I've been playing it on my computer ever since. I will now get it stuck in all of your heads MWAHAHAH

lol if you want this to be fixed, I would suggest fixing all bids so that they are correct. Then, say that if people want to go through with buying your items than they can, but if they want to retract their bids they also can do that. And say this is understandable sentences because most of your posts are written so poorly they are almost impossible to understand.

Seriously, do you even think before you type? I can't even make sense of this. You make my head hurt. The wind made you fuck up your copy pasting? Holy shit, is it a hurricane? Is your roof gone? Dude, get to safety, don't worry about us while a tropical storm is raping the land!
I traded with starmask before and I became very adept at understanding what he is trying to communicate by the third or forth PM. It is definitely an acquired skill and its almost second nature for me at this point in time. Jealous?

You have NO IDEA how jealous I am.

TEACH ME YOUR WAYS OH GREAT BACKSEATDOG. ;)

Is it kinda like knowing a second language? One that only one retarded person knows and one person that spent much time trying to decipher the insanity also knows because he is a risk seeker?

so if i fix this it will be ok
Look at how well that sentence was put together. Do that from now on? Thank you.
yes, with the 'mine' in #1 meaning me, Affa.

there MAY be other issues i'm unaware of as these are just the ones i came across in my own research. others may find new issues with their bids.

i do think everyone should double check, due to situations like #3 where the bid was put down incorrectly.

I'm sorry, but I am retracting my bid. This means Denzalo should win Final Fantasy Origins for $8.

Thanks

EDIT: It's good to see effort being made to fix this though.

why
why
Probably because he saw how dishonest you ran the lowball and how bids were padded. He, and every other participant, have the right to retract their bids.

affa
54.klonoa:door to phantonmile-disc only in a cd caseaffa 11
27.clock tower 3missing bookletaffa2
hreads of Fate $10

fix this

leftwing1018 is correct, this is why I am retracting my bid.

starmask - For the love of God, could you please type and speak correct English? I really want to keep my bids but you're making it harder and harder. Please please please. Use your head.

ok i am sorry i looked over the bids and u wasn't the highest bidder for two of the games so i said to take 22 from the order

Not to be mean or anything Starmask2k3, but I'd avoid running anymore lowballs.

You last lowball had the exact same problem (except the previous one had unexpected outside bidders).

Don't assume anything other than what is posted by the bidders. If you kept everything as they were, this would not have happened.

Good luck dude!

it was because my internet was so slow and thanks
I have no idea if I'm going to keep my bids or not, this whole mess is giving me a headache.
I'd try..

you can always search for the previous bids by using the thread search tool.

Of course, this only works if people had typed in the correct item names.

i am sorry about that

Starmask, are you deaf? I work at a deaf school and you kind of type out sentences like my deaf coworkers and the deaf kids there. I am not trying to make a joke, this is a totally serious question.

Also, will be paid sometime tomorrow. You have high feedback, and my invoice was correct. I'M GOING TO TRUST YOU EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS GOING ON IN THIS THREAD THAT MAKE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE.

Oh, I already received my invoice. I just don't feel right about it after all this goofiness.
it was because my internet was so slow and thanks
you know, i'm glad everything seems to finally be worked out and all, but... 'my internet was so slow' is not an excuse. we're not talking about connection speed getting you fragged in an fps, we're talking about pages of text that you can take your time to read and deal with. the internet could be sludge and it's ok, since once the page DOES load, you can take your time with it.

and if your internet IS causing serious issues, simply post something to the effect of 'hey guys, my internet connection is spotty, i'll sort everything out tomorrow' instead of randomly assigning bids.

but yea. 'my internet is slow' doesn't even begin to explain what went down here.

in other news, i've paid starmask despite nagging feelings to the contrary. crossing my fingers!

Star, I'm glad you're at least putting in something resembling a good-faith effort to fix this, but I seriously think once it's over that you should think long and hard about whether the lowball format is for you. Trust me, I know it's difficult to run one, but dozens of people in the TF do it all the time without running into the myriad issues that you have both times you've had one. I'd say it's time to come to the realization that lowballs are a bit too overwhelming and that you should try and sell your games in other ways. Your feedback speaks to the fact that you're not trying to outright scam anyone, and I've traded with you myself and had no problems. That said, as dv8 has already said and I agree: This should be your last lowball on CAG unless you can figure out a way to run one without all these issues (which at this point I seriously doubt).

Dude, I think the most oblivious person in the world would be pretty clear on where you stand at this point.

Hey, is anyone unclear on rick1000's feelings on starmask? No?

We get it dude.

What's that? Rick hates his lowballs? :p

PS. my one item has been paid for. Please let me know when you send it. thanks.
Im backing him up Because ive had great transactions with him
So? As have I. That doesn't make me oblivious to what went on at the end of the lowball. I'm not sure whether you're actually saying that you don't think what Starmask did was at the very least not very well thought through.. or if you're just blindly supporting him in spite of the facts. Either way, you reinforcing what he did is in no shape or form helping him realize that it's completely his responsibility to resolve this situation if people are ever going to trust him as a seller again.

So I dont have to read the whole thread...can you summarize whats going on here? :)
So I guess its just star and me VS the WORLD (or just the cag community)
Why does it have to be anyone vs. anyone? Starmask made a mistake, and he definitely committed several serious lowball sins. NO ONE is disputing that, not even you as far as I can tell.

Whether he did it on purpose or by accident is utterly immaterial, all that matters is that it's his responsibility to fix it.

If you were truly his friend and "had his back" you would not be reinforcing his behavior and would instead be offering to help fix both his lowball and his image here. Relentlessly trolling his thread and posting moronic comments in the face of users with legitimate complaints about how starmask conducted his lowball is the exact opposite of what a good friend would do.

This is a serious question rick, would you "have the back" of an alcoholic friend by handing him another shot and going "dude, you're making some fantastic choices!"

wow bvharris im not reinforcing his actions im just in his defence about his slow internet casuesiing all this non sense
wow bvharris im not reinforcing his actions im just in his defence about his slow internet casuesiing all this non sense
Even a basic understanding of how the internet works would make you realize that's bullshit. A slow connection doesn't make you magically add $1 onto people's bids just because they made a post in the thread. Well, maybe a certain kind of slow connection.

Whether it's your intent or not you ARE reinforcing his actions by posting the way you are.

Your friend fucked up. It happens. Instead of tossing him a shovel to dig a deeper hole (or just saying "he fell in accidentally, he didn't see the hole!") why don't you actually help him get out of the hole?

Slow internet does not force him to up bidder's bids by a $1 if they bid below the current high bid for said item; no idea what prompted him to believe a bidder's bid was not what they posted.

Slow internet does not massacre the English language and grammar skills as I've seen from starmask2k3 throughout this whole thread.

That said, I'm thinking starmask2k3 struggles w/ the English language, if he would just come out and say it then perhaps people would be more willing(and patient) for him to correct this all; he does appear to be making an effort to do so after the fact. Got my invoice, payment will be sent soon and I'll be on my way. Thanks starmask2k3, hope you can salvage this. =]
I stand my ground here if you wanna retract your bid fine but complaining on this thread wont solve anything.
Oh, I didn't even bid in the lowball.

And complaining on this thread is the only thing that will solve anything, since Starmask needs to come clean on the crap he pulled and make it right.

I understand your belligerence, even though it's somewhat bizarre, I realize everyone comes around to things at different speeds. I'm willing to believe you're just trying to help your friend. Here's a thought experiment for you:

You have a friend who has had WAY too much to drink and is knocking over barstools, slurring his words, and dropping his wallet everywhere. Basically he has a "slow connection" with reality. Now he's trying to get into his car and drive home.

Which of the following actions would a "good buddy" take:

A) Toss his friend the keys and say "go get 'em tiger!";

B) Suggest that instead his friend go to another bar to get even more drunk before driving home;

C) Get behind the wheel himself even though the "good buddy" has had too much to drink as well;

D) Take away his friend's keys and call him a cab.

No need to post your answer in the thread, but once you work it out and then figure out how the metaphor applies to THIS situation, here's what you can do:

Go through the last few pages of the lowball (the auction itself, not the pages of complaints after from newbies all the way up to dv8 himself) and figure out who bid what on which items. Put a list together and PM it to starmask so he can sort this out. Then you'll definitely be his good buddy for sure, and will have actually done him a favor. Until then, you're just making it worse for him.

seeing how poor his English is he will never figure out the meaning of your metaphor, or even be able to read that entire post haha

So, the real question here is how long have Rick and Star been together? Because the only time I have ever seen someone stand up for someone so clearly in the wrong is when they're more than just buddies...they're butt buddies.

This thread is so much fun, I haven't laughed so much at anything on CAG in a long time.

Thank you.
