Stolen BB gift card, what to do?

It was in my dad's wallet, and the whole thing was stolen. I don't have the receipt for the purchase of gc because it was given to me by the credit card company as a reward. Can I use the receipt from the last item I purchased using this gc to get the replacement from BB?

Not sure what BB's policy is, but if you lose a Target giftcard, you can get it replaced. You just need to have a copy of the receipt with the full number. Then call Customer service and they'll have you mail them a copy of the receipt. Then they send you the replacement.

Hmm...For a second I thought you were going to ask us if you could find out who stole it by flagging the gift card with Best Buy's cooperation. Like it saying stolen on the computer screen when the person uses it.

yea, they treat GC's as cash at bestbuy. My mom got me a $75 dollar gift card at bestbuy 2 years back for christmas, and she tore off what she thought was the part you didn't want, come to find out I got a shiny globe with the card missing under the tree. (imagine the looks i got when i went to explain what happened to management)

i wish more stores would have a policy similar to target's, because all the card is, is physical property with the card's id, which is than pulled up in the system, and they deduct from that account. so if you have the number you should be able to have them transfer it to a new number/gift card, incase it was stolen

Aren't you a bit more concerned about the cash, credit cards, ID and such? I'm not sure if you can get your money back with blockbuster. Good luck.

If that reciept you have does have the gift card #, you MIGHT stand a chance of getting something done. If you can get the original reciept, card used to buy the GC, the buyer, and some ID, that would be better.

In all likelihood tho', you're stuck. My condolences.

Ah crap, just checked the receipt of the headphone that I purchased with the gc. It only shows the last 4 digits. Ah well, it only had $23 left on it, and luckily I have the bigger amount card at home. I gave that card to my dad so he could occasionally drop by BB and check up on Bambi's price for me.

As for cash, $20. The CC's, I spent 2 hours calling the 12 CC companies to report them being stolen. Sucky thing is I have a refund due on one of the cards, now I don't know how they gonna refund me. Driver's license, that was a bitch. I spent 2 hours this afternoon at DMV with my dad to get the replacement. ing thief!
