Stolen dead space lithographs

Jayonhavok

CAGiversary!
Hi there everyone.

I recently had 18 lithographs sent to Visceral Games to have signed by the Dead Space team. I was going to be putting them up for auction on eBay with all proceeds going to Save The Children: Emergency Reponse. They were delivered on July 13th and left on my front door. When I got home from school, they were gone. I talked to a few of my apartment neighbors, and they have had packages stolen from their doorsteps as well.

There were 18 lithographs total, but only 16 of them were able to be signed by the entire Dead Space team.

Signed by the Dead Space team:

Medical Deck
Titan Mines Main Camp
Unitologist Church Safe Room
Surfing the Transport
Necromorphs Gather
Tiedemann Cuts The Sprawl
All 10 Mini Lithographs

16 Total

Unsigned:

Aegis 7
Ishimura

If anyone sees the first 16 of these lithographs for sale covered in autographs anywhere on the internetz, please PLEASE let me know!

Thanks you guys.

I am currently trying to get another set signed and sent to a more secure address.

Sorry to hear about that man, Im always on eBay looking at collector's items like that, I'll make it a point to tell a few of my friends as well. Hard part will be to prove it though, assuming the person stealing is even smart enough to post on eBay. Unless you have the numbers from the series of that lithograph it'll be a very very very hard thing to prove.

Yeah not to go all retargus on this, but definitely not the right place to post this. I'm sorry about your losses and such but I highly doubt you'll see someone selling it online. The odds are someone in your building has them right now. You should call the police and report it as mentioned above

Why would a high school kid have so many sets of Dead Space lithographs and be donating the proceeds to charity? You waited an entire month to ask us to watch ebay for your stolen items? Sounds like you dwell under a bridge.

considering they were stolen almost a full month ago, i can't take this warning seriously. sorry but it doesn't make sense to me to wait that long before letting us and anyone else know. im pretty sure if the thief wanted to sell them, he/she would've done so as soon as possible- likely within the first week of the theft.

Yea. I hope this is not the case but he could have made this story up. Why tell us to watch eBay just for something that he apparently doesn't even have right now and wait a month to say this. They probibly weren't even stolen

I don't think he'd really make something like this up as there would be no benefit to doing so, but he did wait a little while before informing others here.
If I do see one though, how about I buy it, and donate the proceeds myself? Cut out the middle man you know
The "seller" is going to want to do it himself but the money won't even be donated I bet

lol, I know I was messing around. I doubt any one would be dumb enough to post this on ebay considering it'd be fairly easy to implicate them.

He wants people to be aware that they are online for people to buy. The sad story was made up just to give us a reason to buy it

I bet some idiots out there will buy it

I apologize for posting in the wrong area.

The reason I waited so long is because I didn't have a choice.

On twitter, if you search for @Makin_Mooves you'll find Corey Abrams from Visceral Games. He was the one who helped me and shipped them to me. If you check out his Twitter, you'll see he passed away a couple days after he shipped them to me. I wasn't able to have someone at Visceral send me the Tracking# until the beginning of this week, which stated it was delivered to my door.

I know it's late, but I'm doing what I can with the situation at hand. Thanks for your help.

Also, I honestly don't think the entire Dead Space team has ever signed a set of their lithographs before this... I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I haven't found them anywhere online yet.

I'm not in High School. I'm in college. Thanks tho!

Ahh, the asshole-packed community here at CAG strikes once again!

Pretty sad when Slickdeals at this point has a better community.

Only because OP had the unmitigated audacity to post this in the wrong forum! My God, somebody think of the children!

Hey, it's funny to give someone a hard time because they ask a silly question in the Deals forum, but when the guy's looking to recover stolen goods so he can donate the proceeds to Emergency Response? Maybe he deserves a break.

If they want to be jerks about this that's fine. Just wish they'd keep it to themselves. Odds are they'll never show up online. Just looking for help trying to find a thief.

Police report has been filed. Corey(Visceral) did not put insurance on the package that I'm aware of. Still talking to them about the situation and where we go from here. I'm in talks with Treehouse Brand Stores about having another set sent to Visceral.

Well, hope that piece of shit thief gets caught and returns your items. I had my mint collection of NES carts, boxes, and instruction books stolen. So I know it sucks.

If the litho's can be reprinted I would imagine that Visceral would be willing to resign them, especially with it all being for charity and the colleague organizing it passing away. Let us know what happens

Thank you; I hope so too. Highly unlikely, considering I didn't get this info until two days ago, but I had to try.

I will definitely create another thread when it's time for the charity auction!

Wow, this is awful. I hope the thief(s) gets reprimanded. Even sadder is the fact that one of the guys passed away. Damn, man, sorry this happened to you.

I hate to say it but.. it's unlikely that these will be recovered. Chances are the thief is an idiot (hence why he's a thief) and won't realize the value of the items, think they're worthless, and throw them out or pawn them off for a few bucks.

If I were you, I'd start knocking on some doors and ask if anyone's seen anything suspicious. Also, check with local pawn shops and other stores (like art stores, etc.) which might have interest in such items.

I agree, I have a feeling we won't be seeing them online either. Just felt like I needed to put it out there. I've got a list of pawn shops in the area and I'll be making the rounds this weekend. Thanks for the response!

Another set of lithographs have been sent to Visceral courtesy of the insanely generous people at Treehouse Stores. I'll hopefully have them in a couple of weeks and put them up on eBay through their Giving Works program.

Sorry to hear this, brother. Don't mind the jackasses, they've got nothing better to do - just desperately trying to make themselves feel good. A sad bunch.

I take it you're in an apartment complex? Or a dorm? Gotta speak to the manager if you haven't already. Any security cameras on the building entrance at all? Or can anyone access your front door?

If it's in a building, chances are it's someone inside. Good luck finding your things.

Yeah, it's an apartment complex. I filed a report with the complex as well as the police. I don't expect much from it, but the more I do, the better I feel. Thanks for the kind words. I hope one of the mods will be able to move this to the proper location.

If I were you, I'd put up a few flyers around the apartment complex offering a reward with no questions asked for their return...(with the reward secretly being the asshole thief getting arrested). You've got nothing to lose. And hopefully you have a better shipping arrangement for the second set...

The first crime committed in this story was not having the Ishimura print fully signed.

Petty thieves don't steal from doorsteps and then sell the items online, there's too many ways to trace it back to them. Craigslist would be the only outlet even remotely close, but that's still too easy to have traced back to them through a phone number.

These got trashed less than an hour after opening the package or kept as wallpaper to cover stash holes in a crack house.
