Street Fighter: Eternal Challenge artbook 22.91 shipped (WALMART.COM)

Anyone know if there is any difference between the two versions on buy.com? Apparently Amazon.com lists two versions, too. They certainly appear to be the exact same thing...

Think they rereleased it with higher quality paper. If you think this one kicks, check out the Ultimate Edition. I stopped reading comics years ago, and seeing the occasional title at the stores, thought I was doing the right thing. Thought the new age art wasn't my style. But for whatever reason, I find the SF comic to be absolutely gorgeous.

Great book, though there are two print runs of it - one on shitty magazine quality paper, and one in nice thicker paper. I have the latter, though I'm not sure which one this is.

Either way, an interesting read for any SF fan.

A review on Amazon.com echoes that statement. So the one with better quality paper (a few reviews on Amazon noted that their version had POOR quality paper, which seems suprising) would be the later release, right? Amazon and Buy list one release as Jan 2005, and one as Nov/Oct (amazon/buy) 2006. That...is rather suprising.

It's the one with the high quality paper.
any chance you guys who have one are willing to scan a page or two so we know what we're getting into before we buy?
Trust me, you'll like it. It's got character bios for every character from Turbo, Alpha and 3s, as well as a TON of portraits for all the different characters. I thought I had seen every piece of official SF artwork until I got the book in earlier today. Absolutely awesome, trust me.

Yeah it's available at Comic Shops across the US, as long as they still have it in stock

However, ordering from Walmart you save 13 dollars off MSRP, pay only .97 cents in tax, and save at addition 2.50-3.50 from taxes. I mean if you can't wait the 5-7 days for it then I guess pick it up at a B&M location, but you won't find it for a better price at any B&M shop.

Since I don't know where a comic shop is he and I don't care to look, I guess Wal-Mart online is as good as I get.

Thanks!

Did you order from WM.com, jimfoley?

The amazon reviewer said
"However, there are two versions of this book. this version (published in January 2006) has thinner paper than the other. The other book has the same cover, same everything, BUT the quality of the pages being printed.

Bottomline: get the other book listed (which is published in October) over this one. "

WM says it's published in Jan 2005......Hmmmmm.....I might just fork up $20 bucks more for the Japanese version. The US cover is ugly. =/

I ordered from them, and it's definately the high quality one. Pages and think and have a nice, glossy feel.

When you say them, you mean Walmart or Amazon? If it's the link shown in Walmart I'm ready to order!

This is the ISBN of the one in stock so those of you with the good version can just tell us the ISBN:

ISBN# 193279624X
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3648911

They have another one listed but out of stock:
ISBN# 0973865245
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4663145

After reading reviews on Amazon, it looks like 0973865245 is the one with good paper. Unfortunately, this one isn't in stock at Walmart, but it is in stock at Amazon.

Since lots of people seem interested in this book I thought some of you would like to know that there is a limited hardcover edition of this book. There are 2 different covers available (500 each) one drawn by Ikeno and the other by Shinkiro both Capcom artists.

This was originally released at Comic-Con 2005 and UDON still had some at their booth in 2006. It is avaiable a www.clubudoncomics.com although they seem to be charging more than they do at the convention. You can occassionally find the book on ebay for less as well.

I have the Ikeno cover and the quality of the book is very good. Just a heads up if any SF fans are interested.
Just one question: anything good but cheap to buy from Buy.com to push the order past $30?
Just FYI, the better version (ISBN 0973865245) is on order at Buy.com and won't be eligible for the Google Checkout deal.
