To everyone in this thread: Capcom has already announced this is the only disc release for this title ever.
Capcom also promised the uncensored footage would be restored in the Resident Evil: Director's Cut on PS1. That didn't work out exactly the way they said it would. It's hard to believe that when they've got a 20 year history of releasing updates to their fighters.

At the very least waiting will net you this game at half off or more. As someone else mentioned, they could also release a Greatest Hits version with the DLC included.
To everyone in this thread: Capcom has already announced this is the only disc release for this title ever. All updates will be done via DLC.
If you are waiting for a second disc release you are wasting your time, which is exactly why Capcom announced this.

Also, this:

Oh well, haters gonna hate.
Nope, I just read the interview and Ono never said they wouldn't do disc updates

Here's the quote
http://gematsu.com/2011/11/interview-yoshinori-ono-on-street-fighter-x-tekken-fighting-games

If we decide to create a new version of the game, we will go with the Street Fighter IV series route, by providing online update patches for the game. So I would say that you don’t really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition [laugh].

I've heard before that DLC just doesn't sell very well in Japan so why keep the update DLC only?

If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition

Ah, there it is. AE was released as DLC and a disk
So the people who want to wait can keep waiting if they want to. Ono never said the update would be DLC only.

and just for fun

Glad to see some of you are waiting. I'm still not 100% sure on this. $44.99 is a good deal, but after feeling screwed after buying vanilla SF4 and vanilla MvC3, I think I'm going to wait as well.
I don't think Ill get this. I'm sure Ill love Tekken X Street Fighter more than Street Fighter X Tekken.
I'll probably end up getting both. And this is probably why they won't. E doing an Ultimate edition since it would eat into the sales of ths other game. Probably something Namco required when they agreed to make theses games.
Thanks OP!!!
Was waiting for a deal on this after they announced Bad Box Art Megaman and Pac Man.
The 5 exclusive characters really sealed the deal for me.
OMG! SICKKKKK!!!!! Thanks for mentioning Pacman!!!!!! :applause::D

Damn! I am, soooo, gonna get this game! Thank goodness for Capcom because I CAN'T STAND Tekken when whoever else programs it with those horrible boxer-looking moves. Ugh!

I had to go straight to YouTube to check up on this Pacman. I will wait a bit, though. :)
Namco hasn't even started making TKxSF, though.
Tekken vs SF may not be close to being complete but I'm sure they've been working on it along with Tekken Tag. It's just that they didn't want the two games competing with each other so that's why there hasn't been much of anything in the way of Namco promoting the game.
Mega Man & PAC-Man are exclusive to the Vita version.
Metal Gear Rising is an Xbox 360 exclusive.
I don't think Ill get this. I'm sure Ill love Tekken X Street Fighter more than Street Fighter X Tekken.
Pretty much this. After what happened with SFIV/MvC3, Tekken X Street Fighter is the only version I'll consider getting. Didn't really play SSFIV much, anyway.
Almost ordered this until I saw all the preorder gem packs. I will just wait and hope the se goes on sale.
Same here.

capcom gem system is oozing with cheap dlc tactics. with xbox and ps3 regulating content, i can't believe they let that slide.

Why would they care? Isn't that just more profit for them?

Thanks for the information! I have pre-ordered the SE from Amazon.
However, $45 for SF X T is a great deal! So now, I've also pre-ordered from NewEgg. If Amazon's SE price doesn't drop down to $60 between now and March, I'll probably cancel it. I truly wonder if all of the SF X T Amazon special edition GEM content and swag worthy of an extra $25?

One of my two pre-orders will definitely be cancelled!
C'mon Amazon, make my day!!

Regulating content, you mean by MS making sure it's not free. That's all they care about, they'll allow any shit DLC on Live same as Sony will.

Ace Combat 6 has 59 pieces of DLC on the Xbox Marketplace. Rumble Roses Double X has 90.

I'm just glad to hear it from someone who clearly has an impartial opinion of Capcom.
Do these deals usually hit the B&M stores. Have some best buy cards id love to use
Best Buy doesn't typically pricematch Newegg sales.

Deal is dead now, anyway I'm in the same boat. I honestly do not want to wait an indefinite amount of months for a price drop, saving a few bucks to miss out on the spare free time i'll be able to play during march and april isn't worth it. Anyway its been rumored that the dlc gem packs will come in packs of 9 and cost 3 bucks a pop. The SE version comes with 4 packs and an extra one if you preorder bringing it to 5, so thats 15 bucks of gems not counting on the fact that the gems will be available to SE owners on day one while everyone else will have to wait for them to be released later on. Honestly, the SE is only worth getting if your a huge fighting game fan, want to play competitively, or you just like collecting because casuals should just get it at $45 or wait for cheaper, extra gems will not change their gameplay dramatically. Notice I don't mention the other SE swag such as the 5 inch coin bank and the prequel comic, mostly because the bank isn't an amazing thing and the comic is pretty art but crappy story at most its a 5 dollar thing if that. Anyway I've been hanging on the hope amazon throws in a 10 dollar credit for SFxT SE that would seal the deal for me.

no problem, if you need any more advice about capcom games, just refer to this list:

1. Don't buy

but honestly, i loved capcom. megaman, sf, resident evil and so on. I have several signed posters and games from ono and infaune. great series and amazing developers, yet their marketing team and their strategic division are really what has been the downfall of what could be, the best eastern gaming division.

So, you've hated Capcom since the 90's and haven't purchased from them since?

I'm thinking back to the 500 versions of Street Fighter 2. To me, they are the BEST at fighting games...even if they are like APPLE and their iPhone/iPod drone minion followers(ANDROIDDD is BEST, to me!):)
So, you've hated Capcom since the 90's and haven't purchased from them since?
He'll wind up buying it just like every other Capcom hater.
So, you've hated Capcom since the 90's and haven't purchased from them since?
why would you say that? I did mention ono right? I stopped right after ssfiv. I felt that, around the time of sfiv itself, is when the company started to fly wrong with me. It is the ps3 and xbox having that dlc option. It is their inability to unify motives within the different branches in the us, uk and japan. Their sleazy and apparent ways they hurt the people who buy their products; the same way ubisoft does. They just don't have a direct voice or enough reason to warrant their ideas.
I remember when AngryJoeShow, on YouTube, interviewed some guy from Capcom. To me, the guy seemed a bit paranoid, lmfao. I don't know why the guy agreed. He knew he was going to be put on the spot.

yah seth killian. I've spoken with him. He has a true passion for the game, but he is an employee. He obviously is aware of the issues, but what can he do about it. He can only attempt to defend what makes no sense.
