Stuck in Metroid Prime 2

Quick MP2 question. I just used most of my light ammo trying to kill a mini-boss. After killing the boss I went through some white doors. I used my last bit of white ammo to get in this room, but now I realize there are white doors on both sides of the room. So I'm stuck with no light ammo. It's been like an hour and a half since my last save and it'll really suck to load from all the way back there. Is there any way out, or am I basically fucked?

Oh and the only enemies in the room are these stupid tentacle things coming out of the wall that I can't seem to kill. I know you get light ammo if you kill enemies with the dark beam. But I can't seem to kill these guys, and I have barely any dark ammo left anyway. This is gonna piss me off so much, I was on my way to a save room to and then I get this crap.
 
Though it may be too late now, just charge your empty light beam and it works the same as one regular blast, enough to open a door at least.
 
lol... actually I just went out to eat. I'm sitting there eating a taco and then it hit me. I remembered the thing that comes up when you get the light beam, and what it says about charging up for a single shot, once you're out of ammo. Hit me like a ton of bricks. First I laughed at myself for getting so pissed... then I though of the replies I would get here for my foolish ignorance.

But you were kind enough... thanks for the tip anyway! Thankfully, I paused the game before I went out (I was like THIS close to shutting off the 'cube too). I'm gonna bust outta that room now!
 
I did the exact same thing, except I was dumb enough to turn off my Cube. :(

Oh well, I learned my lesson and I didn't have much to catch up on.
 
I played this game a little, friend had same problem but figured it out, makes me want to get the game more! But my gamecube is kind of acting up so I dunno.
