Studio Ghibli sale on Amazon

Wait, the movies are all that good, or the sale prices? Because if it's the former, I believe we need to have words, sir. ;)

Laputa, Nausicca and Whisper are all amazing. Arietty is very good, well worth picking up as well. Ponyo is the only one of those that I thought was subpar - I was very disappointed in that movie.

Thanks for posting! Yeah those deals are pretty pathetic but saving a few dollars is better than nothing.

Those prices aren't that good.. If anyone really wants all of these for a good price then I suggest they sign up for the Disney Movie club. You can get them all for less than $10 each that way, though you would have to supplement them with some other Disney titles you're interested in.

-go here: https://disneymovieclub.go.com
-enter promotion code (top right corner): 17674B
-Choose 7 movies - they have Ponyo, Nausicaa, and Arrietty on the list (Whisper, and Castle in the Sky used to be there too, but were removed for some reason)
-buy an additional 2 after, and you're done.

Thats a good deal but you have to buy 2 movies within the next 2 years at $30 keep in mind. Once Disney releases a couple more Gibli I might sign up again.

I'm fairly certain that he meant the prices aren't that good, since he made a topic about Studio Ghibli specifically and is presumably a fan. ;)

I was lucky enough to get most of the DVDs for free on Amazon several years ago through a promotion. All I need are Arrietty, The Yamadas, and Ponyo, and my Ghibli collection is complete. If they were around $15, I'd pick them up. These prices are a little too high for me.

fuck I just bought a movie off Amazon, didn't know about this club I'm going to return to Amazon and go this route. Buying two at full price for the next 2 years is no big deal. Thanks for the heads up on this.

They were all pretty much better prices when they first came out this summer if I recall. Can't wait for a Kiki's Delivery Service Bluray in the future.
