Stupid Crap, Just Stupid Crap

CAGiversary!
I'm sitting here watching the re-run of On the Record with Fox's resident Scientologist and they have on the most ridiculous item.

We've apparently sent 3 F-16's with FLIR sensors to Aruba to look for our missing blonde twit now. These F-16's are flying 3 times a day looking for this chick.

You know, she's been gone since the end of May. People that have assumed room temperature will not show up on FLIR. I refuse to believe this bimbo is surviving on mangoes, bananas, coconuts and spring water and just hasn't been found. She's dead already.

This is so beyond stupid I don't have words to describe how stupid it is.

Stupid yes, but also much cheaper than the Iraq war.

She's dead (or possibly sold to some Saudi Prince) but when cases like this hit the national news (and are kept alive by a certain Fox News journalist) you blow a few million to make it seem like your country cares.

Spare me zo.

Callous? Realistic. She's dead. You don't put up $130 million worth of high performance military aircraft and targeting hardware to look for a body that isn't going to be found. You take a boat out a mile off Aruba, sink a body and you'll never spot it or recover it.

Stupid? Why? What have I said that isn't reality? This isn't going to help and is just a massive waste of resources.

Who authorized this waste? Frankly, I can't believe this - I won't unless I see some more sources.

I can only hope that the birds were going to be in that area anyway so they decided to look for her cause they had nothing else to do because I can't believe the US government would authorize military action to find some girls-gone-wild teen, who was dumb enough to hang with the wrong people, when we've been needing military action authorized on our borders for years now with no result.

I saw this too, really dumb, but that's the world for you. I mean look at all the dumbasses that voted for Bush... oh wait....

I actually have to agree with PAD on this...

Granted, I don't really know who the hell he's talking about, but if shes been gone for more than a month...

You know, I was wrong about them being our planes. The F-16's sent to Aruba for this search are Dutch.

Warplanes to search for missing teen
Family 'graciously pleading' with the FBI to do more

Beth Holloway Twitty stands with her daughter, Natalee, on her graduation day in May.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Holland will send three F-16 warplanes rigged with search equipment to find Natalee Holloway, Aruban authorities said Saturday, as U.S. lawmakers increased pressure on the Aruban government to do more to find the Alabama teenager nearly five weeks since she disappeared.

The three planes, equipped with infrared and sonar-scanning capacity, were expected to arrive Sunday afternoon, said Aruban government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg.

Trapenberg said the planes were being sent after Aruban Justice Minister Rudy Croes requested more help from Holland, the Caribbean island's former colonizer.

"Both the justice minister and the prime minister feel that Holland can help us reach a resolution with this," said Trapenberg.

This week both Sen. Richard Shelby, a Republican from Alabama, and Alabama Gov. Bob Riley, wrote letters to Aruban Prime Minister Nelson Oduber urging the government to do more and let the FBI play a larger role in the investigation.

"With every passing day, I become increasingly concerned that the current investigation has reached a dead end," Shelby wrote in a letter dated July 1. "It's unfathomable that the Aruban government would not take advantage of the full spectrum of resources, personnel and expertise of the FBI."

Seven FBI agents have had an observatory role on the island since a few days after Holloway disappeared on May 30, but have repeatedly said they don't have jurisdiction to direct the searches or investigation.

Trapenberg said calls for an increased FBI presence don't make sense. "It's fine to have the FBI here, but if you send in more agents are you saying the ones here are not any good?" he said.

The teen's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, said the U.S. pressure showed that family members aren't alone in their frustration with the pace of the investigation.

"It has become increasingly difficult to simply wait and see what happens," Holloway Twitty, a 44-year-old speech pathologist, said in an interview Saturday with The Associated Press.

The mother said the family was "graciously pleading" with the FBI and Holland to do more to find her daughter.

"It would be comforting for us if they were more active in this investigation," said Holloway Twitty. "We must demand and expect that Natalee be returned to her country."

Holloway, 18, from Mountain Brook, Alabama, disappeared on the last of a five-day graduation trip with 124 classmates.

Island-wide searches -- which have included Aruban police, the FBI, Dutch Marines, a rescue group from Texas and thousands of volunteers -- have produced nothing.

Three young men have been detained in connection with the disappearance: Dutch teenager Joran van der Sloot and his friends, Surinamese brothers Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and Satish Kalpoe, 18.

They were the last ones seen with Holloway the night she disappeared.

The three suspects were arrested June 9 and on Monday were expected to go before a judge who would decide whether to extend their detention an additional 60 days.

Under Dutch law that governs Aruba, a protectorate of the Netherlands, detainees can be held 116 days before being charged by a judge or released.

Seems like a waste of money for sure. Go media! Thanks for latching onto yet another case and blowing it up for everyone to waste time and money on.

Yeah, I can't really see justifying millions of dollars worth of searching to find a dead body. Especially when we could be using the money to rescue patriotic soldiers and relief workers in Iraq.

Absolutely insane. #$$@!%#&^! media.

Sharkbait won't show up on the IR. It's just a PR move

Still, the environmentallists should be up in arms for all the wasted jet fuel to search for a body that's probably been consumed by the sea. Or maybe the lefties should be complaining about the Gulag they have in Aruba where they can incarcerate people for 116 days without being charged.

Personally, I think they should just start bitchslapping those 3 punks they have in custody until they admit to doing Satan's work. Dangling them over a shark tank might work too...
