Sudeki has an average score of 76% over at www.gamerankings.com and that has prevented me from picking up my pre-order copy of the game.

I was wondering if any of you picked it up. If so what are your thoughts on the game?

btw, I played the demo and enjoyed it, but it really only got into the combat system (which was praised in most reviews). Im thinking about just picking up Tales of Symphonia instead.

I haven't played Sudeki yet, but I can already recommend Tales of Symphonia over it. It is a more traditional RPG that has totally sucked me in. I've only got 8 hours of game time in right now but I'm lovin the game. It also has a unique combat system. And, it's only 39.99 this week at CompUSA!

Since when was 76% average?

I'm not saying Sudeki is a great game, because I've never played it, but 76% is certainly a bit above "average".

Keep in mind that 1Up's reviews, much like GameSpy, suck ass, and they gave it a 5.5 out of 10, which is really hurting the average. A more accurate assesment generally comes from the reader score, which is currently at an 8.3.

Yeah reader reviews for Gunvalkyrie, Unlimited Saga and many others stand in in the 9.0's....Seem like a better assessment....Except no. Sudeki is a very average RPG. Almost mediocre.

Well, combat in Sudeki kicks ass. Lots o' fun. But yeah, a lot of other stuff is by-the-numbers, so to speak. I give it about an 8/10, which is only about .5 higher than the average on GameRankings.

From what I hear, Sudeki is about 20 hours, but Tales of Symphonia should be around 80. So you're going to get a lot more out of TOS. Personally, right now I would go for TOS now and wait until Sudeki goes down. Judging by Microsoft's pattern in the past year with Crimson Skies and PGR2, it's gonna be $29.99 shortly after Christmas.

this is a double post first off and i won't repeat what i said completely but sudeki is good, but if you don't count that lame ass review by 1up.com (which is a lame ass web page) the average so far is 86.6% put that in your pipe and smoke it

Since the OP stated he may get TOS instead of Sudeki, he's obviously the owner of both systems. If you don't own both systems, then the comment wouldn't apply to you.

personally, i am in no rush to pick up sudeki (and this from an rpg-starved gamer with only an xbox and gc) mostly because i just got ToS to hit the fix. but also because I feel this title will drop in price fairly quickly due to the lukewarm reviews and the unmet expectations people might have had. Especially when you figure any game released now has a brief window before the larger hits come barrelling in for the xmas buying season.

I got Sudeki yesterday and don't let the reviews scare you. It is a great action RPG. I am a huge RPG fan and i have enjoyed this game already as much as most other action RPG's i've played even moreso than some who got better reviews. The graphics are some of the best we've seen on the system. Tales of Symphonia is also a great choice, but is more traditional. Sudeki is more like an Action/Adventure game with heavy RPG elements i.e. Leveling up, inventory system ,armor, weapons. etc. Please if you are an RPG gamer don't miss this game. it is much better than the reviews that we've seen so far. The only two good reviews have been MAXIM 5 out of 5 and Gamepro 4.5 out of 5. These scoes are much mor accurate that 1up, IGN, or EGM. (FYI) I usuall agree with PLAY's review over anyone else. They have not reviewed it yet, but after playing it I expect an A- or a B+. If you are still questioning, give it a rent for the weekend, hopefully you won't be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with my purchase. It was wort all $50.00 i spent already, and i'm about 4-6 hours in.

The only thing im worried about is that Sudeki is supposedly only 20 hours long according to some people. For an rpg thats really short. So im waiting til it gets a price drop. I also have ToS, its a great game im lovin the art , graphics style and the game battle system.
