CAGiversary!

On Monday I will have an employee discount of 25% on games, so I'm thinking now is the time to stock up on DS/GBA games before I quit and move out of town at the end of the year. Their selection isn't the best but there's still a few I'm considering.

I know I'm definitely picking up FF5 Advance. I'm still on the fence with Children of Mana and Magical Starsign. Someone here on CAG says Children of Mana reminds him of Secret of Mana, and I love that game, but I haven't really read any reviews on Children of Mana.

After reading another mediocre review last night, I'm thinking I'll pass on Magical Starsign, but I can be swayed easily. I have a friend who highly recommends Tetris DS, so I'm thinking of getting that as well. I'm not too interested in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and I haven't read anything on Pokemon Ranger. There is a copy or two of Pokemon Trozei, is it worth the trouble of $5 more than the others? I could use at least one puzzle game for the DS. Additionally, there is one copy left each of Brain Age and Big Brain Academy.

Other games available include Starfox Command, Mario Hoops, Mario vs. DK 2, the next batch of Nintendogs, Clubhouse Games, and Elite Beat Agents. None of these really appeal to me, although I'm sure each is fun in its own way, I just have to be selective with want I think I want to play.

And of course, plenty of other crap games but I know I won't want any of them so I won't bother mentioning any of them.

So, in summary:

Definitely:

FFV Advance

Probably:

Tetris DS
Children of Mana

Maybe:

Pokemon Trozei
Magical Starsign

Any suggestions for me? Thanks! ^_^

...The saddest thing about this topic is I don't even have a DS yet, so playing any of these immediately obviously isn't my concern. Oh well!

Tetris is always a solid choice. If you don't have a DS already, then New Super Mario Bros. and (especially) Mario Kart are must-haves.

If you ever played Speed or Gin Rummy or any number of obscure card games, and you want to play them again, Clubhouse Games is excellent. It is easy to overlook, I know I did.

Tetris DS seemed to me to have a LOT of "gets old fast" Nintendo music remixes, and, to me, Tetris without Tetris music (Or even the Tetris Plus music) is not Tetris at all, especially if it gets old fast.

Starfox Command, Hoops, and MvDK2 can probably all stay on the shelf.

Clubhouse Games, definitely! Besides the card games, there's all kinds of other stuff like Darts, Bowling, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Connect the Dots, Othello, etc. It sounds simple, but there's a reason these games have survived hundreds of years! Add Wi-fi over the internet and you've seriously got a good deal here.

Elite Beat Agents is insanely fun. I, like most of the people on here, highly recommend it if you have any interest at all in music games.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. ^_^

...And wouldn't you know it, when I could get FFIII for $30, it's released the day after my last discount day. -___-

I believe the games that I had the most fun and spent the most hours would probably be Tetris and Mario Kart, their Wifi modes can get you hooked. Don't be bummed too much about FF3, you can beat the game just by pressing A nonstop. Pokemon Trozei... never heard much about it, I would rather get Meteos, which should be much better and is a way better value than the full MSRP of Trozei.

With EBA [this is coming from my opinion on Ouendan] it will be super fun, but I believe it's much like other rhythm games like DDR, but just in stylus form. Once you get past all difficulties, you most likely wont go back to it, especially with the short and decent tracklist. But you don't have to listen to me, this is just my outlook.
