I was at the Best Buy in Deerfield, IL today, and noticed some interesting markdowns.
There were several games on the shelves with prices (with little yellow price tags) marked below the ones posted on the title dividers. Here's a few that I noticed:
Suikoden IV $19.99
SRS $9.99
Neo Contra $15.99
Metal Arms $7.99
THUG $9.99

And those are just PS2. As I approached the check-out, I saw a giant rack o' games (on all platforms) marked down in the same manner.

These prices DO NOT WORK with the McDonald's coupon. My attempt to score a $3 Metal Arms was foiled when the computer reduced the ORIGINAL $10 price. I'm sure you could haggle your way through this if you desire.

Happy hunting!

Suikoden IV is still showing up as $29.99 on the BB site.

If it's really $19.99, I may pick up a copy. I'm halfway through Suikoden 3 right now and loving it!

IV sucks compared to the first 3. If you're a fan of the series get it at $20.

Please don't buy IV if you never played a Suikoden. It is nothing in quality compared to the other 3.

its not THAT bad, and its alot better than most of the crap out there these days. Id say its on par with 1 but not as good as 3 or 2

Suikoden 3 SUCKED ASS. If anything, Suikoden I had the best of everything except for a few minor things. I Suikoden I made it possible for a person to be equipped with 3 runes and made traveling around easier, ie. walking faster, it would be the best Suikoden of all. Suikoden 3 is gay with its 3 main character plot. Suikoden II was also a great game, now the story line could have used a bit of work, but there were nifty little features added that made it really fun. If they ever make a Suikoden 5, I just hope it'll turn out to be a combination of Suiko I & II. Sprites are the best!

I just wish they would mark down their last copy of Ys for the ps2. They still have it for $40. I wonder if Otogi 2 would also be marked down?

I already have it but yeah definitely pick it up for $15. They deserve it for giving us free coins and soundtracks (and wallscrolls for some of us).

It's been a long time since I played them but I liked 1 and 2 more than 3. I haven't even played 4 yet even though I preordered it so long ago...

Did you give Suikoden 3 a chance?

I didn't like it much for the first few hours but I really like it now... it basically retains all the great elements of the past games but the trinity system makes it harder to get into in the beginning.... Suikoden 2 is still my personal favorite though.

Although one gripe I have about the entire Suikoden series in the limited inventory space. I wonder if this is fixed about in IV (I know Konami took out the memory card transfer feature).

Well it would make no sense for them to do the Memory card transfer considering this takes place 150 years before the first game. It is going to be reimplimented with Rhapsodia (Suikoden Tactics). you will be able to send your IV data to it

I realize that but it would have been nice if Konami could have implemented a memory card transfer feature somehow to unlock something or just as a nod to their fans who have stuck with the series for the past decade.

Is Rhapsodia (Suikoden Tactics) even going to be released in the US?

$29.99 @ Midland, MI Best Buy. I had her scan it first to check. I was running in there anyway to get Katamari Damacy new ($20 - $5 McD coupon - $5 replay certificate).

I really hope so but it has a few things going against it. The poor sales of 4, the end of the PS2 lifecycle, and the fact that the other Suikoden spinoffs have never made it here, doesnt help out matters.
What other Suikoden spinoff's Kuma? I happen to remember NONE coming here.
That's what Kuma wrote: "...the fact that the other Suikoden spinoffs have never made it here...".
