Suncoast Miyazaki DVDs $15.99 and B3G1 used DVDs

greysector

CAGiversary!
I was in Suncoast (Cary, NC) today and found they had Miyazaki DVDs for $15.99. I picked up Porco Rosso and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

They also have a buy three get one free used DVD sale. I picked up The Hobbit, Love Actually, Shallow Grave, and Far and Away for $6.74 each.

great price fro the Miyazaki DVDs...! I think on top of that, there's a BUY 3, GET 1 FREE offer (I saw a sticker on the front of the box).

You still have to pay $1.99 for shipping/handling but you get to choose from Castle or Kiki for FREE!

Don't you have to send in a Proof-Of-Purchase for that? And if not, do you have a link to the coupon?

Yes if memory serves, but there's an outer slip case with the UPC on it as well...

I'm not really sure since my friend was telling me about it (I don't actually own them at this point, although I'm tempted to buy them to take advantage of the deal).

I believe the fine print says you have to send the original UPC in (I know, that sucks). The coupon (I think) is attached to the outside of the box.

The B3G1 manufactuter's deal ends of August (i think).
Is this YMMV or is this at all Suncoasts, ie, has anyone else confirmed the Miyazaki deal at their Suncoast?
I took a look at my Suncoast, in Minnetonka, MN. They didn't actually have too many Miyazaki films, just The Cat Returns and Spirited Away. But both of those were marked as on sale for $15.99.

Okay now I'm even more confused... The Cat Returns isn't a Miyazaki film. This sounds like a sale for all Disney distributed anime.

Oops, you're right. I guess I thought it was Studio Ghibli film, so I mentioned it. To be more complete, it looked like my Suncoast was putting out sale stickers on a very large number of items: about a fourth of the DVDs in the store had either an "Everyday Low Price" or a "Sale" sticker on them. In the Anime section, there were a few other titles that were stickered, including some marked at $7.99, but they did not look very interesting at all.

My Suncoast didn't have all that many Disney anime films, basically just the two I mentioned, so I couldn't really vouch for either a specific sale on Miyazaki or Disney Anime. I may stop in tomorrow to look at some other stuff though, since some of the sale prices are actually not bad. If I do, I'll ask them about the sale.

I believe Miyazaki is credited as "Creative Producer" or something along that lines. Personally, I was pissed off when they replaced My Neighbor Totoro (especially since it was a last minute decision) with The Cat Returns in Miyazaki collection vol.2.
