Well, I have a fun story. First, I went to my closest CC to buy COD 4 & COD 3 yesterday around noon and the clerks told me that they couldn't sell the game until 2 p.m. so I don't fuss I just leave but I see that they only have 3 copies of COD 3 which 1 was a Gold Edition and the other 2 were regular editions not paying attention because of being frustrated after having a lovly conversation about how the ad stated that it should be there by 2 p.m. I leave quitely.

Now, later on in the day after 2 p.m. I go to the second closest CC because of being in another part of town later in the day I go to buy COD 4 and don't have COD 3 at all so I ask could I get a rain check and they told me no because the ad states it's while supplies last but at least they have the poster. So, I buy COD 4 just to have the game.

Finally, I go back to the closest store to me with the receipt to see if I could get COD 3 and they put a comment on my transaction that states when they get some more COD 3 that I should be able to get it for free. So, if you have nice enough employees at your local store you may be able to get them to do the same thing they did for me.

I got my call of duty 4 and 3 from circuit city for 60 dollars there was only two left and I got it but I got charged a penny for call of duty 3. Anywhere I can return or exchange call of duty 3 since I would rather have something else???

^ You can take your unopened COD3 to a store that accepts exchanges without receipts, say it was a gift, get something else and pay the difference. Simple as that.

I'm definitely going to try it.

I ended up ordering CoD 4 online from CC and got CoD 3 free, shipped free. Then went with my coworkers to a Mall (on business trip to NY for the week) and the local CC had one copy of the regular CoD4 instock and one regular copy of CoD3 instock. The sales lady had no clue of the sale, adn even when i showed her the ad, she was like, i dont know. She couldnt get the promo to apply corrected, so she just charged me $30 (full price) for CoD3 and lowered the price of CoD 4 to $30 (no promo code or anything applied). I am so gonna return CoD3, get me $30 back, and end up paying $30 for CoD4 :)

you got lucky
^ You can take your unopened COD3 to a store that accepts exchanges without receipts, say it was a gift, get something else and pay the difference. A "no receipt" return policy is for people that bought something at that store to return it, who legitimately lost their receipt, not to scam them out of money/credit for something they didn't sell.
I'm definitely going to try it.
Enjoy committing fraud.

I don't think its that serious but thats my opinion like that one is yours.

a-f'ing-men

(on topic) WalMart price matched this for me today, so.. yeah.

Fraud is fraud is fraud no matter how much mustard you put on it. Or your opinion for that matter. In the end you are still committing fraud. And that's all that matters.
I don't think its that serious but thats my opinion like that one is yours.
I didn't think you'd think it was serious.

Returning something to a place you didn't buy it from is fraud. Pure and simple. The return policy for stores that allow for "no receipt" returns are for their customers that bought something from them and misplaced/lost their receipt. Not for creatures like you that plan to scam them by returning something you bought somewhere else for $0.01 for a full price return for store credit or cash.

Go crawl back under a rock, you piece of trash.
I don't think its that serious but thats my opinion like that one is yours.
Um, that's not an opinion. It's the truth.

I never understand when people do this. There are a lot of people who want this deal but can't find it(me included). But instead of leaving it for someone else who wants it. you buy a game you don't even want, then later on say your going to try and commit merchandise fraud. Why not leave it for someone else who you know actually wants the game.

If you don't want CoD3, trade it, or sell it. Don't try to commit return fraud.

Wow - I didn't know there were so many Saints on their high horses among all us sinners.

You Fraud Police need to relax. Do you live your lives morally perfect? I doubt it.

At least the store is getting another piece of merchandise for their inventory that they can sell.

It's not like starting a fire to collect the insurance money.

And I know, fraud is fraud is fraud. Okay, so it's fraud. Who gives a f***? Stop harping on it already. We know you don't condone it. Awesome for you.

I plan on keeping and playing my COD 3, and as far as the return scam, I've done it. Haven't in a while, but I've done it. I know it's not right, but I'm an adult and I can live with it. So get off your self-proclaimed podium. We heard you the first time. We f***ing get it. Okay? You're against it.

Fraud police.

IMO, the fraud situation should be dealt with like this:

1. Cheapyd should decide whether or not it's okay to discuss fraud on the boards.

2. If it is okay, then everybody that complains about frauders needs to shut-up and it's open season on fraud.

3. If it's not okay, then Cheapy needs to make a comment on this, give a week's notice, and then have the mods ban anyone who discusses it for a period of time.

Quite simple, really.

Actually, it's exactly the same. I don't get why people feel the need to constantly post about fraud here. There are virtually unlimited ways to rip-off stores. Would you think it was ok if I told you how to pull off an armed robbery of a Best Buy? I would hope not. The last thing this board needs is posts about criminal activity especially with all the scrutiny coming from CC and other retailers.

Is it really? You really believe that returning something to a store for $30 of credit and the store getting merchandise to sell to make up that credit is the same thing as starting a fire for insurance money?

If that's the case then it's on the same level as killing someone for a life insurance policy?

Really? You believe that?

There are levels of right and wrong, there's a gray area to everything, and if you think these stores and companies are so moral and free of wrong-doing then you (in general) are ignorant beyond belief. They don't care about you and yet you feel such concern and adoration that you guys find it necessary to defend them and their return policies.

I don't condone it, or condemn it, but I've done it. It's a free country and if people feel squirrel-y enough to take the risk, and suffer the consequences like an adult, then why does anyone care?

And it's not EXACTLY like starting a fire to collect insurance money.

Of course it is. Fraud is a crime. By returning an item to a store that you know you didn't buy it from and asking them to give you money, you are committing a misdemeanor in most states. Do you not understand that you are stealing money from a store? There is no difference between doing what you are doing and going in there with a gun and having the cashier give you $30 from the register. It's not a "free country". If you commit a crime, you can be arrested and sentenced to jail time. The fact that you are continuing to justify an illegal act leads me to believe that you are a person that lacks all morals. It's very sad.
The guy told me it was for both, then when the confirmation email came, it only had COD4 on it. I had to cancel the order... ugh
My email said the same thing, but when I called they confirmed both were in the box. so now I wait and see what happens when I open the box.

if you call them back, say you made a mistake in canceling it
I'm unclear, do you have to add BOTH COD4 AND COD3 to your cart if you order online? If you look at the product page for COD4, it says "Free: COD3 with purchase". It would seem to be that it would come with just adding the one item. I don't really want to take a chance though.

And, as stated, COD3 is OOS by itself.
just search CC .com for "call of duty 4"

select the regular version. It says bundle but only lists COD4 in your order, but is is the bundle.

You can allways call the 800 for an online order or info.
Has anyone seen CC get restocked with COD4/3 or are you basically SOL if you didn't get it on Tuesday?
Used to work at CC, weekly restock for new releases was highly unlikely. It was something that "could" happen, but all most never did. I'm pretty sure those who missed out on this deal at there local CC won't be able to get it.:whistle2:?
Has anyone seen CC get restocked with COD4/3 or are you basically SOL if you didn't get it on Tuesday?
My CC was "out" Tuesday but had several "Gold Edition" copies of CoD3 on yesterday. Of course, when I asked about getting that free, they said it was regular edition only and that they were still out of stock.
I didn't bother arguing, just returned CoD4 (had bought it there on Tues) and bought it at Best Buy instead.
Folks on other forums have been told the deal is good for 30 days, but that's probably ymmv.

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW

BB was nice enough to price match the COD4 + COD3 for me today, I got the limited edition.. cuz it looked cool :)

But THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO. The only reason they did was because I called ahead and said the name of the guy I talked to said they would for me.

But they arent supposed to! But oh well, I got it, now I just have a sealed copy of cod3 lying around..
Has anyone seen CC get restocked with COD4/3 or are you basically SOL if you didn't get it on Tuesday?
Mine just restocked today with COD 4. They told me they get shipments at least twice a week, so you might have a chance again.

If I can remember too, I might try to check my 3 Circuit Citys again. At least one of them had COD4 but no COD3. Of course that seems to be most everyone's story :(
well my slim chances just got slimmer along with the other 98% of people on here. Oh well.
just get in online before they run out again

I'm only interested because of the instore glitch. They both look like good games, especially 4, but don't need to shell out 60 bucks for them at this point.

Cod3 is terrible, I don't understand how this is even a deal as cod3 is worthless.

You can match this deal at any place that sells cod4 by buying cod4 and grabbing something out of the trash can on your way out.

that link might be oos but i just ordered cod4 for 360 online just fine and it does mention under special offer that cod3 is free with purchase.

The problem with that as far as we can see is that you need to purchase the bundle, not the individual item. They will not automatically add it, unless they actually care to hold the order until they restock. Only time will tell if they will.

Surprisingly, I still got in on this deal tonight. I went to the CC in Pearland, TX tonight and found the last copy of COD3, but no COD4. I asked a clerk and he searched the system which said they had 4 copies, but he couldn't find one on the shelf or in back. He checked the shelves, back stock, and front desk with no luck, but after searching out the manager, he finally came out with a copy. When I brought them up to the front, the COD3 did not ring up free and they had to get the manager to override. In the end, I got the deal....so it was all good!

well in case they don't send me cod3 when it arrives, i got to print out the webpage that says clearly it's free with purchase and of course the ad that proves it as well ;)

Son of a.....CC had CoD4 and CoD3 in stock early in the AM (EST) right after I went to sleep. I just read through my emails and had an "in-stock" notification sent to me 8 hours ago, right before I went to sleep.

Sure enough its back out of stock on the website.

When I put in a request for e-mail notification specifically on the COD4/3 page, it kept telling me that COD4 alone was back in stock, but not the two-game deal.

I set up a notification for cod3 and never got an email, so dont feel bad. I'm sure they didn't get any in. Kinda bummed about not getting this deal, but I guess you can't win em all. Although, I do think that customer service has hit an all time low. I've dealt with CC and BB majorly messing over the customer lately. Maybe it's time to invest more money at fry's...
