Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo compatibility

I just picked up a PS2 Slim model 90001. I was looking at picking up Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo for the PS1 to play on it, but the PS2 website says it is not compatible with the PS2 Slim 75001. Anyone have this game and a PS2 90001 that could tell me if they fixed the compatibility issue?

I'm sure the game would be able to play. I have the old PS1 disc lying around here somewhere and it never even crossed my mind that it wouldn't work on my Slim. But yeah, if it doesn't work.. I'm sorry to here.. but if you have PS3 lying around, you can pick up the improved version for like $10 on PSN. Split it with some friends and it'll bring it down to like $2!
