Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

Nightwatch with Ewan McGregor and Nick Nolte. Im watching it now and it is good but looks like the end will be disturbing.

Halloween the remake - I like rob zombie but this had to be one of the worst movies I've seen so far this year.

Superbad (Amusing, but completely over-hyped. Could've waited for DVD.)

Also got The Ex and Big Nothing from Netflix. Both were surprisingly weak, especially given the talent present.

Love this movie. Definitely one of my faves this year. I hope more people get to see it.
When Stand-Up Stood Out - 4/10

The Simpsons Movie (2nd viewing) - 7.5/10

Rocket Science - 8/10
I thought we were supposed to post the last movie we saw that DIDNT suck... a 4/10 sounds like it sucks

Bourne Ultimatum

I didn't think it would suck really but I had no idea it was going to be the best movie of the series.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Whether the events depicted were real or imagined, Chuck Baris is one disturbed individual.

Premonition - Probably the best Sandra Bullock movie I've seen, which isn't saying much

Wild Hogs - Surprisingly did not suck.
And how was that?
Sherrybaby? I really liked it. It's definitely a showcase for Maggie Gyllenhaal's acting talents (and, well, her boobs. She gets naked A LOT in this movie). It could've been a Lifetime movie of the week but it's very nuanced and emotional without being exploitative.

As an added bonus, Danny Trejo is in it!

But wait, Lifetime movie of the week? How many women get beaten or raped, then?

I'm curious to see how people are going to look at Shoot 'Em Up. I tend to think I will like it, but then again I am pretty much the exact audience that it was made for in the first place.

Might catch Stardust and do a double feature though. What was the general consensus on that one?

I'm seeing it tonight. I like the fact that action movies are throwing out plots in favor of just being stupidly fun action movies (see: Crank)

My parents saw a sneak of "King of Kong" last night and could not stop talking about how much they loved it. My wife and I are going to try and see it this weekend. It's getting mad love on metacritic. Anyone here seen it yet?

Saw I'm Reed Fish and it was ok. If it were just the movie it would have been pretty decent, but they had to do some weird crap which just drew me out of the experience.
Half way in you find out you are watching a movie, in which the characters are watching a movie.

It's worth seeing for a Schuyler Fisk performance of her new song.

My only problem with Shoot 'Em Up is it was too short, it seemed to jump to the end too quickly. And it just a bit corny at times... I mean...
one death by carrot... funny... two deaths by carrot...? And while we're on the subject, carrots? Oh well, at least the Bugs Bunny joke was a good wink at the crowd about it.

But you know, it was purposely being stupid, which I loved. It's nice to see an action movie that doesn't worry about thinks like plausibility, and just shows 86 minutes of Clive Owen killing people.

Also, the Hitman trailer before it was fucking AMAZING looking.

Crank kicked much ass.

And to add a movie to this post, I just saw The Last Dragon for the 5000th time. One of the greatest movies ever! Sho'nuff! I think I might put that entire quote into my sig. Everyone should have a copy of it in their collection.

Inland Empire.

amazing movie, but in a way it's like 3 hours of David Lynch fan service. All others will probably have the sense to turn it off halfway through

In the Mood for Love - Incrediable Chinese love story, wonderfuly shot. 9/10
Last Hurah for Chivilry - Sweet kung fu movie directed by John Woo. 8/10
Female Yakuza Tale - 70's Japanese explotation movie, awesome...just awesome. 7/10

saw War last weekend with my gf and her kids. I liked the stuntwork that was done and I thought it moved at a pretty good clip.
