Great flick. They sure dont make them like that anymore, which is a shame
Yup. Go watch Sweet Smell of Success for another superb film.

Sex Drive- A lot funnier than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed it.

My Name Is Bruce- Wasn't expecting much, but it was pretty funny and Bruce Campbell is the man.

Yes, yes he is. I got to see him during his tour of the movie. He would do a Q&A session following the movie. I was luckily in the front row,so he was extremely close. He's as hilarious in real life as in his movies.

I'm so jealous!

Transporter 3

eh, no good chase sequences or fight sequences. Definitly the weakest of the three movies. You would be hard pressed to even notice that Corey Yuen did the fight choreography.

Incident On Blood Pass

Final Yojimbo film and though Mifune plays him reserved and though its not the most action packed film Mifune has ever done, its still top notch. Katsu is great as usual. Never seen this tilll this after noon and wish I didn't wait this long to finally finish the Yojimbo series

I keep looking for the original on TV but it's never on. Only ever saw the remake with Jack Lemon. That was still pretty damn good.

Sex Drive

You know, even though it doesn't do anything original, its still a lot better than it has any right to be. Also, Amanda Crew is quite nice on the eyes
Hudson Hawk off of Netflix instawatch.
I found it funny that they used music to time their robberies. I had been using songs in lieu of a clock for a few years b4 I saw the flick. It was weird to see someone else doing it.

Anyway, my flick is Sydney White. I cannot really say the movie was good per se. But I caught it at the very beginning as I was folding laundry today and I couldnt turn away from it. I had no idea what the movie was about, hell I'd never heard of it before today. But it could best be described as the bastard love child of Revenge of the Nerds and Mean Girls. I enjoyed both of those flicks and this one as well.

The only downside is I felt bad seeing Amanda Bynes as a "sexy" character. I know she's technically legal now, but I kept thinking of the 90's when she was on the Nick show "Figure it Out". Then I felt a bit creepy. :cold: *shivers*

Twilight (2008)

Oh god, this was totally cheesy, with some terrible acting. Kristen Stewart annoys the crap out of me, and I have never even seen Robert Pattinson is anything before this movie, but that guy is god awful horrible. I didn't like this movie for what it was intended for, but I did like laughing at how lame it was. Which my wife didn't appreciate, as she loved it, so I guess I'll end up seeing the TWO sequels they already have in production.

Surveillance (2008)

Directed by David Lynch's daughter, Jennifer Lynch, who directed her first film 15 years ago, with Boxing Helena. Odd little movie about two FBI agents, (Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond), who arrive at a police station to investigate a series of murders. They have three eyewitnesses to interrogate, a police officer, a meth-addict, and an eight-year-old girl. All three have wildly different stories to tell. It takes a while to really get going, and it's very predictable, (I guessed the "twist" pretty early), but for some reason I liked it. It has a Lynchian feel, but only slightly.

Role Models - Was alright.

Taken - Great for a B movie, if you need to satisfy your action movie itch, this is a great choice.

Futurama: The Wild Green Yonder - Great, my second favorite slightly behind the 1st movie and in front of the third movie followed last by the second movie.

Appaloosa.

Just so-so. Harris and Mortenson were pretty good and had good rapport, but the plot was thin and Zellweger's character was annoying.

Saw Watchmen again - such a great movie. Can't believe people HATE it. . . oh well, I'm just happy I enjoy it. It's MY transformers (which I hated, yet a lot of people loved).

Dog Soldiers - Yet another Sci-Fi original movie. The story is pretty good which doesn't make it dreadfully boring like other sci-fi channel films(Showdown at Area 51). The ending is actually enjoyable and has a few good payoffs. Its just an average movie, 3/5 but seeing as its an interesting made-for-tv-movie its probably worth checking out if you are bored and want to see some dog/werewolf things 'nom nom nom' UK soliders.

Was very impressed how Watchmen was. It was (for the most part) frame for frame and word for word, exactly the same as the comic. I re-read the entire series the day before the woman and I went to see it. I was nervous how it would turn out, alot of lil side stories to fit into a 2 hr. movie. But they pulled it off and stayed as true as they could to the comic.

Wasn't sure why they changed this scene:
Where the child killer is chained to the furnace. Splitting his head open with the axe was more brutal than what was in the comic. I believe if they kept it the way it was in the comic, people would say they stole the idea from Saw 1. Even though the comic was written over 20 years ago and in reality Saw stole the idea from them.

Let the Right One In- I hated this movie. So boring and the pacing was terrible.
It could be a 20 min short story.
It should have been directed by Michael Bay.

that wasn't a Sci-Fi original movie, it's Neil Marshall's (director of The Descent and Doomsday) first full length film.

Yes, you are right. They didn't do it because of Saw. Shame...

not a made for tv movie.

Miracle at St. Anna. Not terrible, but not great either. And very dissappointing for a Spike Lee film.

Overly long, cheesy at times and the characters were mostly cliches.

High School High off of Netflix Instawatch. Not perfect, but strangely enjoyable, sort of like Hudson Hawk. I did enjoy the spoofs of various coming of age/inner high school retribution stories/idealistic teacher films. Jon Lovitz is an underrated comic that never got his due in movies like Sandler/Spade, and to a lesser extent, Farley.

Taking Chance - Surprisingly moving. Our former president should be strapped to a chair and forced to watch this on repeat.

Are you sure you didn't wander into a screening of Twilight by mistake?

It should have been directed by Michael Bay.

Hell is waiting for you.

Rail of the Star - a story in the same vein as Grave of the Fireflies/Barefoot Gen, just not as brutal and a little bit more wonderful in its story telling. I watched it for my anime/war class. Anyone know where I can find this online to watch again/DL before I do my paper?

good to hear. good book by an awesome author.....read his book "Rant" if you wanna read some fucked up shit.

ah you are correct. I just looked at this list and saw Dog Soldiers on there. I didn't click through to see it was a different movie. I am sorta underwhelmed by Dog Soliders since its not a made-for-tv-movie.

Perfect Blue off of Netflix Instawatch. Pretty solid, though the voice acting can get grating on the nerves. Regardless, this is classic Satoshi Kon (probably my favorite anime director), and as such, fantastic. The ending is very strange and doesn't tie the overall film too well, and the credit music/tacked on ending sort of diminishes/cheapens part of the overall effect of the film. I'm sure that's why Kon has rectified thsi issue in his later psychological animes.

Killshot (2008)

This was so fucking awesome and cool. Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Thomas Jane, Diane Lane, and Rosario Dawson star as the main cast. It's all Rourke and Levitt as two badass motherfuckers. Rourke was great, and I actually liked this more than The Wrestler, (I'm not saying this is a better film, I just liked it more than The Wrestler). But the most entertaining character to me, was Joseph Gordon-Levitt's, as "Richie Nix". I love Gordon-Levitt, he's always so good.

Punisher: War Zone - 7/10

Hmm... wow, surprised. Thought it was going to be bad like Hitman or Max Payne. Instead it was a lot of senseless violence and gore mixed with a lot of rapid gunfire. GREAT STUFF!

Just watched Bolt. Bawled my eyes out. The quality of the Disney and Pixar animated movies just astounds me.

And before that watched Zack and Miri Make A Porno. The best Seth Rogan flick IMO. Histerical, and Katie Morgan is in it :).

I have to say for the most part Punisher War Zone was really good. It was better then what I thought it was going to be and was better then the last one. If it was not for the bad acting of Dominic West(well about half the time it was good the other times it was so bad the good wasn't even enough to balace it out) Doug Hutchison, and at times Larry Day(however he was the better of the three). Infact I could have done without the characters of Billy Russoti / Jigsaw and Loony Bin Jim. They just made the movie go down hill in quality. This could have been the best Punisher movie made but with them two dumb fucking the screen they put it above the last one, thanks to the rest of the characters actually being writen better and the actors playing the rest of the characters 100 times better, and some where around the first one.

The special effects could have been done better and in some cases not at all. Some times it was just over the top and it just didn't work. Other times it would have worked but it just felt like they put more money into other things and not enough into the special effects.

I would love for them to make another Punisher movie or start over from the start and pretend the last 3 never happend and have Christopher Nolan work on it. As long as he makes it a real world Punisher like he did with Batman then I think it would work much better. Atleast he wont let the special effects and blood go over the top like they did with this one. Atleast I hope he wouldn't.

If I wouldhave to rate it I would have to give it a 7, the last one would be around a 5.5 to 6 and the first one would have to be a 7.5 to an 8.

If the effects were done better, Dominic West and Doug Hutchison were not in it or the characters they played were writen better then this movie could have been a 8.5. Hell could have been a 9 if the start of it was better. I didn't like the dinner scene where he was spinning around upside down on the chandelier.

I fell asleep during that and ended up leaving the movie early.

As far as last movie I saw: Duplicity. It was pretty good.

LMAO! It's like Superbad without the FAIL.

Amanda Crew is pretty cute too.
I enjoyed Superbad :). Seth Rogen and Bill Hader made that movie IMO.

But yeh, Amanda Crew is rather cute!
