I'm looking for a fairly cheap SS/HT system. It's a birthday gift so I'm not going to expensive, my limit is $200. It really doesn't have to be anything special, as who I'm getting it for doesn't have a system at all.
Requirements:
1.) Cheap
2.) At least 2 Optical Audio (TOSlink) input connections. [or HDMI -- But I for one haven't seen anything but HDMI passthrough on >$200 systems.] Most of his stuff plugs into his HDTV, so just need the digital audio for surround sound.
3.) A name brand [No RCA... I've been down that road and will never venture there again. I'd just as soon buy him a truck-load of bubblegum.]
4.) Sounds decent with decent wattage
So far I was able to find an Onkyo that was a perfect fit for my requirements, but I can't find it in any stores near me. It's an HT-SR600 that has a nice deal on it if you are lucky enough to be able to find one near you. The web shows none within 100 miles of me however.
