I love Russell, I think he's the best player ever, and I want him to win the game. However, I think he just got really

ing lucky this week.
Coach, Courtney, Jerri vote for Parvati.
Tyson, Sandra, Rob vote for Russell.
Russell, Parvati, Danielle vote for Tyson.
That's 3-3-3, so no matter what happened, it would tie between 2 people and they could vote either Russell or Parvati out. But, Russell told Tyson that he was going to switch to voting for Parvati, and this seems to be the genius move everyone seems to be crediting Russell with. It seems like it was more Tyson's idiocy than Russell's smarts. Russell changing his vote to Parvati wouldn't influence Tyson's vote at all. If we assume, as Tyson did, that Russel switches his vote to Parvati, it would be:
Parvati 4, Russell 3, Tyson 2.
If no idol is used, Parvati goes home. If Parvati uses the idol, Russell goes home. If Russell uses the idol, Parvati goes home. When Tyson changed his vote, it would have become (assuming, as Tyson did, that Russell was being honest):
Parvati 5, Russell 2, Tyson 2
If no idol is used, Parvati goes home (like before). If Russell uses the idol, Parvati goes home (like before). But, if Parvati uses the idol, it creates a tie, whereas before Tyson's vote switched, Russell would have gone home.
So, really, there was absolutely no benefit to Tyson switching his vote, it only hurt himself. It was just a really boneheaded move, and I think it was more luck than skill on Russell's part.
