SW:KOTOR2 $25.00 @ TRU (YMMV)

So, i walk into TRU looking for some PSone screens, when i see KOTOR2 sitting on the shelf with a $19.95 price tag. The $19.95 sticker was meant for the original KOTOR. i take it up to the register and it rings up $49.95 (like it should), but after i pointed out to the cashier that the sticker said $19.95, she called the manager for the price change.

Now the manager looked like that stereotypical teenage worker from the Simpons with a crackly voice and pimples. I knew he had to of been a SW geek and would shut me down. He looked at the game and said, "this is for the first one." and then i just looked away. He then messed around with the computer and told me that he would give it to me for $24.95 because the computer wouldn't take off that much. I told him that $24.95 was acceptable, and i walked out with KOTOR2 for $24.95, (along with a couple PSone LCD screens).

So the moral is get your ass to TRU and try and find the game. it is probably a HUGE YMMV, but it could be worth.

I also got Mafia for the xbox for $3.48, so you might want to look out for that too.
 
Mafia is on clearance as mentioned in the TRU thread.. You got lucky, I doubt anyone else's TRU misplaced the game.. and even if they did, I doubt they'd honor the sticker price for the wrong game.

There is no chance is hell this will happen again. The chances of this happening are just as good as ANY other new release game+TONS of luck. This is a CLD (Completely lucky deal).

I was at TRU again this morning and told a kid about what i did. He took it to the register and got the same deal. so, there is a chance in hell that it will happen again.

There's not a chance in hell it'd work for me. The manager here is some emotionless woman. I'm not stereotyping or saying it wouldn't work for me because she's female - her emotionless nature just chills to the core.

Sweet! And that is hilarious that another guy got the same deal on a mispriced KOTOR2 the next day. What a dumbass manager to not immediately check all their KOTOR2 stock to make sure no other copies were mislabeled.

Was the $20 sticker on the actual game or on the shelf sign?

Personally I think they should have given it to you for what it was marked ($19.95) but were I in your shoes I probably would have cut and run with the $25 offer as well. I may have said something like "I'll take it for $25, but you have it marked as $20, don't you think you should honor the price you have marked?"

the sticker was on the game wrap which was inside of a case. The manager was going to give it to me for $19.95, but he said the the computer would only allow a discount from $49.95 to $24.95. I thought this deal was still pretty hot, so i took it and ran.
 
Honestly though the chances of this happening are the same with any sequel type of game, like Mercenaries or Burnout 3. This is completely random and the chances of it happening again AT A DIFFERENT STORE, are next to 0.

Deal and Shopping Discussions & Bragging rights notPost your own Cheap Ass Video Game Deals. Maybe they should change it to Bragging rights & Shopping Discussions . Last time I checked " & " includes both . People must be jealous , it's crazy .
