Swapping Identical Items for a Return

If I were to buy something at a B&M store like Best Buy, then later find the same item online for cheaper, could I return the online item to Best Buy for a refund once I receive it? This is probably a stupid question, but I feel compelled to ask. Thanks!

I've done it, as long as:
items are exactly the same (UPC etc)
I have the original receipt
replacement item unopened
within return period.

Except for items that have the serial # listed on the reciept. Which would be all of the consoles and handhelds, as well as some other bigger ticket items.

Just remove the sticker they put on there if it's store specific. You'd look pretty shady taking a game with a big yellow Best Buy sticker on it to Wal-Mart.

yup, I do it all the time. Mainly when I order something for cheap online and want to play/watch it right away.

Though I see this more than you would think. Recently I spotted some items with Sam's Club stickers on them for sale at Target.
