I think I'm going to go ahead and give it a shot - I don't have much to lose - my debit card account only has a balance of about 20$ and it doesnt look like a scam to steal identity + they send their game first. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
EDIT:
Ordered - traded a copy of Need For Speed Underground (Xbox)
getting Killzone for $20
ohh yea if u read deep intp the term of service, they send DISC and manuel and inserts ONLY, unless the item u are recieving is sealed
But you are only sendin gthem, manul, inserts, disc, so you just swap out your case.
You don't even have to read deep into the TOS; they state on the site that you just have to send them the game disc, booklet, and case-flap, and they'll do the same, so that they can keep shipping prices low.
I don't know, but this sounds pretty cool.
Shadow is implying that if we don't want to risk it ourselves, one of us could post it on gamefaqs, and someone there is sure to jump at the opportunity to try it, thus being our guinea pig.
Bear in mind that few jokes are funny if one doesn't understand them without an explanation, so you can assume it was funnier than it now is to you.
Does seem like an awesome idea. Is it brand new or something? Surprised no one on here seems to have used it before.
EDIT - Just did some playing around and you always pay them at least $5 even if you are sending them a game worth more (according to their values) than what they are sending you. Just means it takes a little more work to find a 'good' deal I guess.
For example I could send them X-Men Legends + $5 and get Fable. That one isn't bad. But I'd have to send them Fable + $5 to get Galleon.
Maybe they'll enhance the service to allow 1-many to 1-many swaps each way at some point.
I emailed them last night about new releases like Mech Assault 2 and Ghost Recon 2 that aren't on their sight yet, and got a reply back that the sight would be going through a major update fairly soon. Hopefully, that will include the option to trade in multiple games.
Interesting... those trade-in values are unreal. They're giving more for Madden '05 on Xbox than it's worth at retail now...
Some of the PS2 values are so-so, but when you look at the Xbox and GC values for crap games (ie: the stuff you got at CC and BB for $5 a few months ago), you've got some decent deals.
If they were to implement a multiple-for-multiple trading system, I'd be unloading my extra games pretty quickly.
edit: LMFAO, they've got promotional items for sale here
Well, I've been a lurker without a single post here for awhile, so you'll all probably take my comments with a large grain of salt but...
I've traded with them 4 times and everything has gone flawlessly. I've always received my game within 5 days (but I live only 1 state away from them) and then turned around and sent my trade in with no hassles.
Metriod Prime toward Crimson Tears
Fatal Frame 2 toward Shadow Hearts: Covenant
P. Colloseum toward Bard's Tale
a game which escapes me at the moment for Otogi 2
Note that trades are 1-for-1. You can't trade in multiple games toward 1 game.
2 of the games i received were brand new (Covenant and Otogi 2) 2 were used. The two used games were in practically flawless condition, and all the manuals were included. Crimson Tears had a small scratch which didn't affect gameplay.
Be sure that your trade-in discs are in good condition with no more than a few scratches, as SYG.com reserves the right to charge your credit card for the price of the sent game if you send them a poorly cared for disc. (They then send your old game back to you) Also be sure that you have the manuals before trying to trade anything in.
After discovering them through a different forum (Console Gold?) I've never traded again at EB. I just hope that the site is successful. There are a couple ways that people can take advantage of the owners due to their lack of closely following the dropping prices at retail.

Yes, but they sometimes charge more than somthings actually worth as well, so its a double edged sword.

Thanks for the input - I feel a little less anxious now (still waiting on my game - but its only been 2 days)
No problem. I was very skeptical the first time also. In fact I've VERY carefully watched my credit card to see if any unauthorized or inflated charges were added over the course of the three months I've used them. (I've had to pay on every trade) No problems.
2 days is a very short period of time, unless you live in Iowa. I live in Illinois and I've usually gotten everything by day 4. One game took 5 days. The longest I have seen is my friend in Pennsylvania who took 8 days to recive his game.
I emailed their site back in October about the possibiltiy of swapping multiple games at once, and this is the reply I got:
"At this time, it is only possible to swap one game for one game. We will be adding the option of swapping multiple games in the near future, and we will let you know via the mailing list when that option is available."
Hopefully that will happen soon.
P.S. The site used to only charge a $1 minimum (instead of $5). If you look on the Gamecube page, you'll still see the old amount.
UPDATE: The charge hit my credit card and it's been 4 days since I ordered. Still waiting on Killzone..
I'l post a new thread w/ pics if everything works out.
well i traded, is been 2 weeks and...nothing...
their site is down right now too, "upgrading" they say...
I guess people are abusing their system and senting them all craps...
God i hope this is not a scam...
Ah, I forgot about this and didn't get any pictures - but I did recieve Killzone in perfect condition and mailed them back my copy (minus case) of Need for Speed Underground (PH) with no troubles. I was all set up to do a few more trades, but apparently they've been down for about 2 weeks now.
