WGASIA3 $3 off - this one should work
WGASIA5 $5 off - this one wasn't cooperative.
ISYA247 $5 off - I got this one to work, brought it down to $28.

coupons don't stack, you can only use one.

I heard the HK was the same as the UK import. You can get this close to what the domestic would cost. The extras will play on any BD player since they are HD. The non HD extras should play on a PS3, don't know about stand alones.

HK and US are the same region. And most Warner titles are region free. It will play in all BD players.

All standalone Blu-ray players are also backwards compatible with DVD, so standard definition content will still play.

So this BD isn't region locked?

Normally UK standard def is 576i.
No. HD is 1080p everywhere.
Many HD-DVD releases were 720p/1080i, but in NTSC regions the video standard begins at 480p. I was pretty sure PAL regions use 576p as we use 480p.

What HD-DVDs have the main feature(s) in anything other than 1080p? I can't think of anything off hand.

Porn, some of those nature HD-DVDs and some BBC TV shows.

That's about it.

From my HD FAQ

Q: But aren't these (imports) in the PAL format?
A: No, PAL/NTSC formats are a thing of the past with HD. Most movies are encoded in 1080p24 with the signal (50 Hz or 60 Hz) determined by the player.

Which I'm assuming is not an huge number by any means even for HD-DVD.

I'm not really debating the 1080p thing, though. I'm talking about the res starting at 480p for NTSC and 576p for PAL (since special features lack higher res on many releases). I'm trying to verify if 576p would still display appropriately on an NTSC setup, as it's not listed as a supported resolution on my PS3.

In other words, what res are the special features presented in?

It won't. But Sweeney Todd and all the extras are 1080. So no worries.
whats so special about the import?
It is only available through import, it has not been released domestically. Since it is a Warner release, I will go out on a limb and say that this was supposed to be a HD-DVD exclusive, but never came out due to it failing as a format.

Sweeney Todd did come out on HD-DVD in the states. It was the last new release I saw (although I am aware of others).

No. Paramount scrapped all HD-DVD releases after Warner went BD exclusive.
