Yes, you read that right. As some of you know, I work at a Gamestop, and there's this retard who knows nothing about videogames, yet enjoys making fun of me and thinking I'm the idiot. He's also ~40 with gray hair and works in a part time position; how much of a loser can you be? My assistant manager told me that the game said on the disc "IN SPANISH ONLY" and the rating on it was messed up. How retarded can you be?

In other news, some lady came in looking to return a used N64 that, when opened from the shrinkwrap, smelled like cat piss. And boy did it smell like cat piss. I wonder who accepted that in trade-in?

Oh don't worry, I already PMed him the whole thing.

YES!!!!! My story has been thusly validated! I'm telling you guys; that's the standard Gamestop sets for it's customer's intelligence. The official motto is, of course, "DON'T BE TOO PICKY"(It's posted in the bathrooms), even if that means your games are covered in excrement.....or worse.

i bet the game was south of the border, ride the worm, are you sure that ccat excretion wasnt white, or perhaps your coworker fuck already licked it off the cartridge
Why is this guy still employed at your Gamestop?
Because he is in with the manager.

And there was some clear piss visible, but it wasn't white or anything. But we sure did wash our hands after that one.

And it was a Nintendo 64, not a game. I am unsure what the pirated game was, I might ask my assistant manager tomorrow.

And the only open games we sell our display copies, not shit that comes in as used.

Even if he was in with the manager, you'd think the manager would be smart enough to get rid of that kind of employee.

Well he is good at harassing people to get subscriptions to Lame Informer and reserves, and that's all that upper management cares about.

Yeah its a pain when the guy in front of me in line decides to get a subscription to Game Informer and there is only one person working there. Then I'm in line for another 5 minutes...

Um.. what disc?

Uh... the pirated game? It said for that on the sticker label. Can you not read?

Game Informer is actually my favorite Video Game Magazine :(

Reality's Fringe]I think this boils down to who has the shittiest company between EB and GS said:
This might just be me, but the GameStop near me is awesome. The Eb's aren't as good. Also remember, you only buy used games from GS and EB. :D
Game Informer is actually my favorite Video Game Magazine :(
Which isn't as nearly as surprising as it should be since all videogame magazines today suck. Recently EGM has gone completely down the crapper, and of course ODCM magazine was ended once the discontinue accouncement from Sega was made.

Also, is anyone else's GS used sections totally cluttered recently? So many people have been trading in used shit that there is absolutely no room for it. If you're gonna push trading in shit so much, remember that there has to be room for it.... Or have another B2G1 sale.
Also remember, you only buy used games from GS and EB. :D
Not for me, when I want to buy used games, I try to buy from people here. The games are usually in wAY better condition, and they're usually at a sizeable discount.
And Dead, before I left, there was NO room left in the PS2 section of our drawers. And in the back? sTACKS AND STACKS of "overstock" games such as GTA3, Madden 2001-2004, Nba Live 2001-2004 etc. Half of the games we take in we can't sell because they're so shitty. I mean, when you take in a trade-in that's covered in.....what I would HOPE to be chocolate, you can't expect someone to keep it after examining it more closely. Ugh. CAG is the best used game store.
I must be missing something here... where's the sweet revenge part of the story?
I probably should have clarified. One day, ON A DAY OFF, I come in to check out the schedule to see my hours while I am waiting to meet up with a friend at the store. While there, the guy harasses me to death and makes fun of me for having less hours than him. Him getting bitched out for this is more than fair revenge.

On a related note, ESPN NHL 2k5 released today. So some poor sap comes into the store and asks how much it is. Of course, the retard says "$52.49 ($50 game+tax)" since he knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about games, much less a higher-profile game such as NHL2k5. PLUS, since he wasn't sure of the price, he EASILY could have looked it up on the computer since it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. So I overhear this stupidity, and I say, "Um, excuse me, but NHL 2k5 is 20 dollars, not 50." And he's like, "Oh." One of the harassing things he said to me that day described in the previous paragraph is that if I swore twice in the store and if he was the manager, he would have fired me. If I was the store manager and such complete and utter stupidity occurred EVERY DAY, I would have fired him.

i wont argue that some gamestops suck, but the one i work at is really cool. i mean we have our "one guy" but even he wouldnt take a piss covered 64. everyone there is intelligent and nice (except to 10 year olds who come play the demos for hours!) also you dont have to worry about being in a long line at my store, we dont pressure you to buy a game informer (were always ranks at the bottom of our district) anyway, the point it, sure some of them suck, but not all of them do!

My question is this: your elderly friend doesn't seem to be a gamer (judging by his lack of gaming knowledge).

I don't know if people work at game stores for pay (does *anybody* in retail earn a decent wage?) or for upward mobility (maybe you are led by the misguided belief that you will be in control of the Barnes and Noble empire); most people work for cheap games, easy access to games (especially choice used titles as they come in, and for the discount - essentially, the poor wage you earn is made up for in money you save buying games). There may be some sort of "acts of gord" customer-depracating (sp?) satisfaction, but I digress.

(Finally arriving at my question): Why does dude work at GS? Why doesn't he try to find another job?

myke.
...NHL 2K5 came out today? sweet.

When I would make pawn shop runs I would find roaches and roach poop once in awhile, they love n64's. Pawnshops are pretty crappy at times, its no surpise. Whats nice is I was at a GS the other day and a lady was complaining that there was Roach poop in the system she bought.

Reality's Fringe]
Also remember said:
Yeah, I basically meant that I only buy used games from there and not new. My GS actually has used games in decent condition.

Ive never had a problem with any of my gamestops or ebgames, but I do agree with the overstock of the crappy used games, most of mines have this problem

Probably because no one else would hire such a goddamn retard. My manager is too nice.

And it came out today, yes, at least at our store. I dunno about other locations.
