In addition to hundreds of items through out Toys R Us being clearanced down 50% (indicated by green pricing lables), Sword of Mana-GBA price is one of those rare finds even though not among the sale! Had to jump on this especially since I didn't get a chance when it debut. (MSRP was $35) I feel asleep.

Its been available several times at several places for $9.99, so that's not really the best deal for it. Anyway, its a stinking piece-of-crap game that's not worth $4.99. The interface is absolute garbage, the gameplay is painfully repetative, there are several issues that are either bugs or completely insane design (the way arrows work, for instance), your companion's AI is virtually non-existant, and the game has quite a bit of slowdown and screen tearing during big action scenes.

Sorry I hijacked the thread. Its just such a bad game I had to get it out :)

god, I just bought the game from another CAGer and I read this, thanks for pooping on the game for me. I loved FFA btw.

I'm assuming DFD is DDF.. anyhow, his negative mini-review isn't anything close to DDF's asinine trolling comments. He explains why he hated the game, and what was lacking in the gameplay. Had he said "Sword fo Mana is stupid, you are stpud for liking it".. then he'd be a relative of DDF.
got it for free and lot of GB advance game..... you know what I mean rigth ?
Yes, we call that being an asshat. Don't discuss it here.

this is a lie.

it's nowhere near as bad as the stupids make it out to be. picked it up a couple weeks ago for $8 at the toysaurus and have put over 35 hours in.

I would, but I'm afraid I might be banned for excessive use of profanity :p

And for the record, I loved both Sword of Mana and Final Fantasy Adventure. It just happens that Sword of Mana is a stinking pile of crud.

Edit: that should be: I loved both SECRET of Mana and...

it's probably cheaper. mine had it labelled $10 and it rung up 8

and dums still are stupid for saying this is unplayable.

Arrows work the same way in SD2. Which I think is what6 that dum was trying to say

I personally thought the original was far superior in gameplay. It's one of the very few original GB games I'm holding onto. Sword of Mana was just a disappointment. They took out the difficulty and dumbed down any puzzles so it plays about as easy as a child's Sesame Street game. I did like their effort in the story, though, but it was rather poorly presented.
In lieu of doing the logical thing and supporting TWO PLAYER games, they give you the option of playing with a computer-controlled copy of your friend's character. Oh sweet, this is so much better then actually playing with a real person. Hey look, Tom, your character is running into a wall and not doing anything! This is just like playing the game with you!

i still dig this game.

Wow, I'm kind of glad I traded mine off for a profit without even playing it now that I read this thread and the other thred with the review.
