Syphon Filter (PS2) $10 + $20 GV at EBGames

Just got done with ordering my copy, I hadn't noticed the re-pricing until I clicked the link for Syphon Filter... needless to say , I jumped right on this deal, and threw in a cheapie preplayed game to get free shipping

Thanks again CAG!!!
you can use the UPC code from the security sticker right?
good question, anyone try this? I'd love to pick up the game to trade at FYE for $15 AND get the $20 from EB, but I then I couldn't cut out the UPC. Thoughts?

When they had the same deal with Max Payne 2 last fall, all I did was scan the back of the game case using a flatbed scanner, printed it out in black and white and used that UPC code and I still got the voucher.
we still have to pay for shipping and tax though, right?
Yes... but you can add a cheap preowned game to your cart, the use the CAG15 and SAVER codes to get free shipping and 15% off the used game

Cant do anything about avoiding the tax

If you look at the Phantom Dust deal several people were able to make a high quality photo copy.

I would jump on this deal right now because when the have XIII for $5 with a $10 rebate, that deal was pulled very quickly.

I'm so tempted to do this just for the voucher, but I hate having a game sitting around that I'll probably never play. It says it cannot be combined with other deals/offers, so would I be able to use a $10 gift voucher on this?

Damn, I couldn't pass this one up and had to put in my 3rd order of the day.

So far today, I picked up 10 games (6 new + 4 pre-played) + the $20 gift Voucher for $48.82 shipped. Not too bad!

As always, thanks for the deals CAG!!

so instead of blemishing your Syphon Filter or Hot Shots box, you can scan or copy the UPC instead? i really don't want to mess up the game. damn collector inside me demands perfection.

Hey, does anyone know if I can call Eb and have them combine my three orders from today and knock off a couple of the pre-played games, while keeping one or two of the PP games on the order, and still get the saver shipping?

Damn the voucher deal doesn't even end until the first of May so there is a whole nother week to jump on this deal.

This deal gets even better for the fact that you have to use the voucher on ebgames.com.

I'm pretty sure that's okay. For the XIII for $5 + $10GV deal, I called EB and the rep said sending a photocopy was fine, even though the form said original UPC only. I did that and eventually did get my gift voucher sent to me.

Why don't you just cancel the orders then replace the order with the games you want.
Shawn why don't you just cancel the orders and then just replace the order with your new one.
I wish I could, but just about all the new games I ordered today have already disappeared. They were rolling in in increments, so I ended up doing 3 different orders.

ahh, I just tried calling them and they said my first two orders are already packaged up, so I guess I'll be stuck with that All-Star Baseball 2003 and Johny Moseley: Mad Trix I used for free shipping on two of the orders. Oh well!

thanks for the deal cheapyd!

it's worth a shot b/c if you don't like the game, you'll probably get $8 (plus $5 bonus) for trading it in at gamerush hehe.

Does it show on the packing slip if you used any vouchers or coupons? I can't find any of my EB packing slips, and I totally can't remember.

Nope. The price of the games is reduced though. I've got one here that shows an NFL 2K3 as being $0.33 (used one of those reservation rewards $10 vouchers).

Well I was thinking if I should grab it or not. Then I came to my senses. Anyway I ordered the game with value shipping $12.57 total then I went over to www.gamerecyclery.com and grabbed an extra cover insert for the game. $1.50 + .79 for shipping. Total $2.29

So my total out of pocket expense was $14.86 but now I can just take that insert cut it up and send it in...I don't even have to open the game to get the rebate. I would have gone the photocopy route but I don't have any glossy paper on hand and I don't want to buy a pack of it just for this. Plus this is fullproof. So basically EB paid me $5 to take this game! Sweet Deal!

Well, I just ordered this using my $10 gift voucher from the XIII deal. The EB rep said there shouldn't be any problems with getting a new voucher because of that. I even ordered the original for free shipping :) yay for combining deals.

I called EB today, and they said a photocopy of the UPC is accepatable. I am not going to use any special paper.

Thanks good to know for the future.

Got in on this. It's good to know that I can use a photocopy because I was avoiding this and the HSG4 deal because I didn't want to cut the UPC off. Glad I waited now, since this got down to 10 bucks. Thanks Cheapy.

For the REAL cheapasses out there, go ahead an order this for $9.99 with the $20 voucher; send in a photo copy of the voucher, and then trade in the game for $15 at FYE: total pocket expense of a little over $10, but you wind up with $35 in credit/rebates :)

I was able to order this on the early morning of the 15th at $9.99 before it shot up to $20 at the morning update that day. Now I just have to hope I get vouchers for both this AND Hot Shots.

Ha ha ^^ So did I. I actually ordered at 9:15 PM the 14th, but since EB is east coast and I am West Coast, it shows 12:15 AM the 15th on my invoice. :applause:

Good thing I got in a few hours earlier!!!!:bouncy:

Just out of curiosity; where on the voucher does it say you have to send in the UPC? I read mine several times over and unless I'm missing something it only mentions the original sales reciept. Is there another form (online?) that says something else to the contrary?

I'm surprised more people didn't catch on to do the same thing.

Anyway, I ordered around 6 AM Eastern on the 15th and it was delivered on the 19th (yesterday/Tuesday).

just below the box where you fill in your address, just above the address you ship your rebate to:

Mail the completed form along with the original EBgames.com packing list (dated 4-15-05 to 5-01-05) and the original proof of purchase (UPC code) from the boxes to:

Another note -- last time around that I did these (Alias & Max Payne 2), think I just sent in a photocopy of the UPC's along with the original UPC label sticker from the top of the package.
