System of a downs new CD in 13 days, horray!

I more or less lost interest in system about 4 years ago, maybe 5. Near the end of high school, I was losing interest in most rock. However, I did dig them around 98 and 99.

I've lost my interest in SOAD awhile ago. One good album and then the rest has been overrated crap. Oh well, I guess one is better than none.

Who cares how much it's hyped? It's music.

Same with bands like Green Day. No one listens because everyone likes it, therefore it is poser music and they've gone mainstream (although they went mainstream with Dookie, so I don't know what everyone's babbling about).

Jack, CC and BB are in another city (granted it's a very short drive- maybe 15 minutes) but they're also by the mall, which contains EB and Gs> I don't wanna go by there on 360 day. Target's right around the corner from my house, so that'll be fine.

Green Day sucks and i dont have to have a reason why. I think ill eventually pick up the new SOAD album. The thing i hate about them is that they are too political.

How do you go "mainstream"? I've just never understood how people can say: "This band sucks...too mainstream." The band makes the music they want to. If it becomes popular, what the hell are they supposed to do about it? Quit making music?

Depends. If the musician/band is only out to make money, they will probably make music that has the most appeal, not the music that they totally want to.

Got the CD earlier today. I must say I'm somewhat disappointed in this one. IMO, it's the weakest of their CD's...but there's still some good stuff on here.

I got it w/ shirt today, that's pretty much my same synopsis. I enjoyed Disturbed's new cd a bit more(I don't buy much).

Got it now, and it's pretty good.

Didn't have the Duel Disc at Target, but I bought the regular CD anyway.

While I miss their old stuff, their new style isn't that bad. I like it!

Oh, and to those of you with both Mezmerize and Hypnotize albums, they fit together to make a collective piece (Look in the insert-area of Hypnotize for a piece of paper showing you how, though it's rather obvious).

Picked it up after work. Not my favorite, but ok.
Thing that pisses me off is the protection, cant seem to make a copy, or even get my computer to read it.(even with the "hold ctrl" thing). Any suggestions?

To explain myself, i make one to listen to in my truck, and keep the original in the house.

Umm...I'm not trying to defend the guy, but nowhere in his/her post did they mention anything about the new SOAD album being hyped. They merely said that they didn't care for it. And to tell you the truth, neither do I. They've steadily gotten worse (or at least nowhere near as good as their first) and I've cared less and less for them since. Mesmorize was alright earlier this year. Had a few tracks that I loved, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and I like Green Day, so don't think it's because I'm biased or mainstream or whatever. I simply just haven't been liking them all that much anymore.

I didn't think it was hold ctrl, but rather hold shift just when you put it into your computer and wait for at least 45 seconds if not more (recommended a minute). Or you could always disable autoload like I did. Works wonders. Oh and make sure to use CDex (the absolute best and it's free!)

Really? I was able to copy the tracks to Windows Media Player no problem. I'll most likely make a copy of it to keep in my CD case thing that's in the car as well.
Personally, I'm getting tired of Daron's vocals.
Yeah, that's my major complaint. Serj needs to step up a bit more, but from what I understand Daron is the main writer of the lyrics etc.
