I'm looking for Tactics Ogre for playstation.

I would guess that the cheapest way to get it would be to use the 25% off at EBgames.com. However, actually finding it seems very problematic. I saw it at a local Gamestop today, disc-only, for $35. Is that a decent price? Where should I look?

[quote name='Jack']If it's in good shape, I don't think $35 is so bad. You can order a replacement manual and insert directy from Atlus for $5.00 shipped.

That's the ticket. $40 total for a complete copy of Tactics Ogre is a good deal.

Then again there's the case. If it's like most Atlus PSX games, it's a double case with the game in the second half, and the first half does not have a disc holder but a PSX logo. If you've got one of those hanging around, then yeah, $40 for a complete copy ain't too shabby.

A Gamestop about 30 miles away has a copy... about a 45 minute drive.

After the 10% card, it should be roughly 30 dollars. I passed on the game once, about 2 years ago for the same price... I've always regretted it. Trying to see if it'll be worth the drive (after a phone call, of course).

You should check your local Gamecrazy, if you have one, because they have a huge sale going on right now, and if you could find it there, it would be $5 if you bought two other older generation games. I know, it's a bit of a long shot now, but still worth a shot if you have one close to you.

I've already checked the only Gamecrazy in town. While I did manage to get a decent haul (Front Mission 3, Paper Mario, Vagrant Story & a handful of others) they didn't have anything that awesome.

The clerk told me that one guy did come in first thing in the morning on the first day of the sale and bought around $75 worth of games, including a complete Lunar Silver Star Story. So whatever they had was already picked over by the time I got off work.

Figured - if you didn't go what it seems to sound like at opening, you got the leftovers. But hey, you could always ask them to special order it, and if they get it in before the 29th of the month, you can get it in the $5 sale. I did that with a games I have been wanting. I know, it sounds like a long shot, but people keeping getting the games I want at other GCs around the country, so hey. They ask for $6 as a shipping deposit for each game, but it's refundable if they can't get the game, so.

Just another idea if you have yet to consider it. ^_^ I have been weighting my opitions when it comes to getting a copy of Persona 1 & 2, so I know what you have been going through hehe.

About 5 years ago one of my friends found a local rental store that was going out of business and having a fire sale on all their movies and games. He managed to find Final Fantasy II and Persona and he gave them to me for my birthday. I still have Final Fantasy II (I even have a beat up-manual and the original box as cut up to fit in the cover of the plastic rental case), but I thought the other game looked kinda stupid and I traded in Persona.

I guess I don't feel too terrible about it, since the disc was thoroughly scuffed up and I couldn't progress past the opening cinema (the game would hang up when the the guy in the suit started to speak), but in hindsight I wish that I had kept it instead of getting four or five dollars towards Final Fantasy IX.

Thanks a ton Jack.

A Gamestop a good distance away had a cd only copy for 32 after my 10% discount, and I've already sent the check to Atlus for the inserts and the manual.

37 dollars for a complete copy is golden, thanks a ton, I never would have realized Atlus sold this stuff themselves.

Thanks Jack! I had forgotten about the Atlus store.

After trading in some games and using the 10% card I effectively got Tactics Ogre for $22. Another $5 for the manual and inserts, cannibalize the double jewel case from Mellon Collie and the Infiinite Sadness...

Viola! I got a complete Tactics Ogre for less than $30.
...As soon as the inserts arrive.

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

I too followed this plan, as you can see above.

This is definately the best plan. If I knew about the Atlus store sooner (I never thought to check!) I would have snagged a cheap disc only copy from Ebay a long time ago.

To anyone else: It's worth running a quick check of all the Gamestop's in your area. I went to one 40 miles away, but decided to take my gf to the zoo that was real close to there so it wasn't a trip solely for a game. I emailed Atlus a few days ago, and the inserts / manual generally come within a week, is what the rep told me.

I've ordered manuals and inserts for Ogre Battle Limited Edition and Tactics Ogre (both PS) and both times I got them in just about a week. I wish more devs sold these on their websites.
