The CPU, mobo, and RAM are a combo for $550 on newegg right now. Although I'm not too sure how good the RAM is. This is 70% gaming, and 30% processing video into different formats with handbrake or ripping blu-rays for my HTPC.

Out of curiosity why do you want to go SLI? Do you plan on running multiple monitors at really high resolutions or do you just want it for better gaming.
