the big skeleton guy from the intro. hes in the tunnels under the trail, what level should i be at to beat that guy?
i looked at a walkthrough but it doesnt mention him.
They're called demon arms iirc (or were those the weapons in the locked chests?). He's pretty tough, but you cant go back to him after a certain point, and if you kill all 3 of them you get a good sword for Lloyd. As far as a level, I can't remember at all.
Just BTW, you realllly don't need a walkthrough for Tales.. its quite easy without one.
Not to mention the fact that RPG's are much more enjoyable if you do it all yourself.
Heh, not if you want to get all the unlockables in that game.

I think I was like level 20 or something. If Raine has Photon is will be a lot easier. I am not sure if Colette has angel feathers are that point have her only using that if you do. Also make sure you have the combo guage filled before fighting. I haven't played this game in so long. I really think I want to play through it again over this winter break.
yea i went back and completely owned that guy, i dont think i had to even heal.
im 20 sum hours into it and its ruled my life over the past few days (my wifes so happy)
xmas is really gonna cut into my tales time, stupid xmas.
i think this is my favorite games since prime.
I should warn you, if you wait too long to fight the second one, he'll be gone and you wont get to fight him. And if you don't beat the second one, the third one wont show up, and you wont get the good sword.

The main story in Tales is easy to beat without a FAQ, but you will miss SO much stuff. There's so many sidequests and extras that you'd never find them without a FAQ.
I'm like 55 hours in after getting the game on launch day in July 2004. I've just had so many distractions. The game is my favorite RPG ever, and ranks right up with Ocarina of Time as favorite overall.
I need to finish the last little bit of this game, see the ending, and then purchase Tales of Legendia when it is released in 2 weeks!
Damn... I was going crazy because I could find every game I own BUT ToS. I searched through my entire room, and just now found it, only after pretty much fully cleaning my room for the first time in the 4 months I've lived here.
ToS= Motivation. But now I may not have time toplay it tonight before going out, which was my original intent.
i played the game for like 20 hours without the walkthrough, and found out i took the wrong path through the game (instead of crossing the ocean using the port, i instead crossed the land bridge and beat the enemies to the north instead of the southeast. was kinda weird, i KNEW the enemies there werea little toooo tough.
Those are the weapons in the chests. The weapon you get from the Sword Dancer (skeleton guy) is the Kusanagi Blade for Lloyd, which is his most powerful weapon.
I want to try this game out because I haven't played many RPGs in the past but man, I hate the Anime style that this game and a whole lot of other RPGs have. The only RPG I have both beaten and enjoyed was Paper Mario 2.

Try it. I share your general dislike of anime-style animation, but this is an amazing RPG. 200 hours of my time invested in that, and more to come if I ever beat the rest of my games and have time to replay some.

Wow, that good huh? Maybe I'll try it out when I find a used copy on the cheap. I really like the idea of realtime battles instead of that tedious turn-based stuff.
From what I hear on the import side of things, Legendia's battle system isn't as fluid or well executed as ToS's. This kind of has me worried, as I've played every stateside [and Phantasia's rom] Tales game so far, and Symphonia had by far the best battle system.

i will definately go back and finish up the few sidequests i didnt do.
