Tales of the Abyss finally announced for the US

I just didnt like the story in ToS, and the fact that no characters really appealed to me when I saw them, I like RPGs more when I find the characters look cool...Im sure Abyss has a different story too...Ive read it and it sounds much better to me. Yep the Battle system in ToS rocked, just the story really. So this should be good I think...
Ya I gotta agree ToS recieved a great review and I didnt enjoy it at all...and FFX-2 must have got way too high from what Ive heard. Sounds similar to Nintendo Power and how they give all their games a 10
Actually, they've been giving some pretty low scores recently. They have the lowest score out there for the Nintendo-published Clubhouse Games (on the DS), for example.

Anyway, I picked up Abyss tonight and had to remind the clerk about the preorder bonus, which is very underwhelming anyway :D. Now I just need to finish the last 2 character quests in Legendia. I stopped due to my complusive need to COMPLETE everything - get all the recipes, items, etc. I did the same thing with Symphonia and quit right before the end. I'm going to FORCE myself to finish Legendia without worrying about the extras .

Just curious, was anyone able to get in on the $30 Walmart/Target preorders for this game? (It is $39.99 on target.com now, but still listed at $29.82 at Walmart).
Anyone know why the guide is shipping two weeks after the game? I don't really have the patience these days to play through an RPG without a guide I can consult in case I get stuck.

Shit, though, in two weeks, I'll probably have finished the game.
Interestingly, this happened with Tales of Destiny 2 (Eternia) on PSone. I had already nearly finished the game when the guide came out.

Picked this up yesterday, but I won't be playing it for a couple weeks, I'd wager. I still need to finish Atelier Iris 2 and I have shit for school that I need to do.

Is the multiplayer like ToS? I never used that...it was too lame. But whatever I dont care about multi anyway.

Better than Lenddia, right?

GS scored it lower but I've been hearing it is much better than Legendia, and one of the best tales games to date.

Once I finnish FFXII I will be picking this game up. I love these Tales games and my last was TOE on PSP. Its been a while and I am ready now.

I've got a little under 9 hours into the game so far, and I have to say I am really loving this one. The script is very well done, there is a lot of voice acting, and none of the chars even come close to bothering me. I have to say I am glad I didn't want to pick this one up.

So I got Abyss..

It's great! The first couple of hours are a bit rough and boring, I'll admit, but it slowly starts to pick up around the fifth hour. It gets incredibly awesome by the ten hour mark too.

The battle system is no dissapointment, either. Free Run kind of breaks it, but its not like you're forced to use it. My only problems with the battle system is that each character starts off dumb. I'm not talking about AI here- which is actually pretty good- but the characters cannot use items on other characters in battle until they learn an AD Skill from the Capacity Core. It's pretty annoying, but I can tolerate it.

Also, the characters are just plain awesome. My favourites are Guy and Jade.
