For me, top 3 of each..

Dislike: Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Dick Morris

Like: Bob Schieffer; Bill O'Reily; Dennis Miller; John Stossel

Dislike: Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann

^ c'mon, you're picking such obvious choices to dislike from the GREAT LIBERAL MSM!?!?!?!?!

the world's your oyster, hombre. Pick anyone you like. Anyone. Just claim they're liberal. We'll believe you.

Soledad O'Brien. Flaming Liberal. Won't stop gushing about Obama. Hate her.

I can definitely understand Rachel Maddow, she's smug in a very lame way. After she makes a biting remark or lame pun she always perks up and looks extraordinarily proud of herself.. I don't think there's ever been a 2-minute period in which I didn't feel the need to slap her.

0:12 is a perfect example, try to tell me you don't want to smack her..

dislike
larry king..why does he have a show?

I can't really say I like any of them, but I dislike Ann Coulter and I really hate Keith Olbermann and Bill Maher.

edit: actually, Colbert is great.

i like michael savage, i dont agree with him most of the time, but hes fun to listen to. maher can be great, but he makes me roll my eyes just as much, i cant stand olberman. oh, and i like john stewart a lot more than stephen colbert. but my favorite are my local radio guys (armstrong & getty), but i dont think they count even though most of their show is political.

Oh yeah, I miss listening to Michael Savage on the way back form work, but my AM band is busted now. He's extremely witty and funny, if not slightly offensive sometimes.

Savage is the most transparent of hosts in terms of "saying shocking things to get viewership." He's the pro wrestling heel of the radio world. And, hey, it works for him.

I'd have severe disdain for him if I took him seriously.

He is, but I find his show is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes he says something hilarious then follows it up with this incoherent rambling joke or skit that kills the mood.

I like your comparison to a pro wrestler, that's exactly what he is in the talk world.

I think the only people that take him seriously live in a few trailer parks in the deep south.

What's the matter with Cavuto? Where else on TV will you see Hooters waitresses and Toby Keith treated as financial and political experts?

EDIT: Right, thrust. He's a perfect analogue to a pro wrestler; he says things that are deliberately hateful and confrontational to raise people's ire and gain viewership, he lives his life according to his "character" (or at least stayed in character during a NYT profile of him a few years back), so he's convincing at "keeping kayfabe," and he harshly talks own and mocks anyone who doesn't agree with him. Plus his euphemisms are corny-dreadful, and not just silly but workable. "Feminazi" is awful, but usable. "Red diaper doper babies" is just fuckin' dumb, and fits with the "HURRRR!"-thinking intellectuals. ;)

I don't really care for any of them. Don't give enough of a crap about random people's opinions on things to sit and watch talking head shows.

If I was forced to watch one, I'd probably go with Olbermann. As the other poster noted at least he has some interesting interviews and doesn't always inject himself into the interviews.

Don't forget my favorite, San Fran-sicko

I can't say I really like any of them. I particularly dislike Shepard Smith, Keith Olbermann, Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy, to name a few.

Why don't like you like Shep? He's definitely the most even-handed journalist on Fox. He doesn't take bullshit, no matter which side of the aisle it's coming from.

I agree. I like Shep a lot. You really get the feeling, watching him, that he cares more than most journalists. I remember being very impressed with him during Katrina. He was the man on the ground and he was expressing livid disgust at how things were being handled. He was bordering on getting emotional. Ever since then, I like to watch him.

My favorite thing about Shepard is when Fox forces him to cover non-news he just mocks the hell out of it.

But when there are actual issues to tackle, he grabs 'em by the balls. He called Drew Petterson ou directly, asking harder questions than anyone else (so hard Peterson walked off).. he argued with Hannity after Obama pwned McCain.. he even refuted Fox's favorite talking point, stating flat out the media is not liberal it simply reflects America's current ideals and goals. He's conservative and will disagree with liberal guests, but at the same time he'll hold his guests' balls to the fire if they try to fall back on Rove talking points. He's awesome.
