yeah, but his is much further ahead in time than speedy's as well. give him some practice and he may be able to clean it up a bit too. i think a week ahead of time is just fine myself, but still...he has it a week and a half ahead of time already, impressive to me.

Just keep in mind if you want to try to replace Speedy you will have to be:

1. Way more organized
2. Consistent
3. Willing to help and respond to people's questions about the ads

I wouldn't bother doing this if you can't do all 3.

Thx OP for the early posted ad info. I disagree with the above though. Any info any CAG can share on cheap games and accessories is always welcomed by me.

I do concur about working with speedy on this content to avoid redundancy and he does seem to have it down to a science. Maybe you two can coordinate if you get the info on a regular basis as well.

Keep the cheap ass deals coming!!!

Post the DVD/CD deals as well and maybe you'll have something. Otherwise, Speedy has it down to exact science, and we only have to wait a couple extra days.
 
Great post. Thanks for the info. It really is a shame the number of assholes on cag that criticize people who are trying to help. Granted this post is no better, but why even waste the time to just slam the guy.

Hardly anyone reads the STICKIED OFFICIAL THREAD at the top anyways. This will just lead to more confusion, more posts, increased server load...I could go on and on.

I agree, who cares about a few extra days if the posts look like the first one. Speedy does a great job and the redundancy is uneeded as this forum is already clogged with it most days. You still get the ads early people, and a week is plenty of time if you want to grab something before it goes on sale. Close this por favor.
 
I say we put the OP and speedy in a pit and have them fight to the death. The weapon of choice? Ads strewn about the pit floor. First person to bleed out due to papercuts wins the distinction of CAG's resident ad guy.

No, discussion is not over. Two people are giving their time to provide the members of CAG a valuable service. If the OP were to structure his content in a way that would help Speedy so that he would not have to type so much (or vice versa) how is this a bad thing?? I'm up for anything that helps save time for the people who provide us with this valuable resource.

Speedy doesn't need any help, and if he did, there are people who have already volunteered their time to help him. We do not need a pissing match for ads, they aren't needed.

People are trying too hard on this board to come up with a deal or to help out. While the thought is nice, it's more of a burden than a help. If a system is working good, you don't need to help it. This isn't capitalism, we don't need the competition.
 
The only thing turning this into a pissing match are the people coming in to complain about what the OP posted.

I'm saying if there is a better way to include ads that Speedy doesn't post (such as TRU, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Fryes, whatever), or even help Speedy out, then we shouldn't automatically dismiss it.
 
I think I speak for the non-retarded members of this board when I say:

A) Dear OP - thank you for the effort
B) Speedy's ads are awesome
C) Speedy's ads + whatever this guy has to contribute that Speedy does not have would be even more awesome
D) The OP should probably go ahead and PM Speedy and work something out, so the whole community will benefit.

There's nothing else to be said.

i hope these people who are getting these ads early are not getting them from newspapers. Many papers have cracked down and will fire anyone on the spot if they leak any info.
 
I like how when I jokingly posted a Best Buy ad I found from 1989 the thread got deleted almost immediately even though some found it funny, however people are calling for this thread to be closed, and yet here it still sits.

And for the record I was not tryin to stael Speedys shine thats where I got the idea but I don't have all the time in the world to make this nice and pretty for everyone. Besides all of that I will always get the ads before anyone except the guy that prints them.

It dosen't take really long to format things so it's at least readable. The amount of time it took to write this last post of yours is really all it takes to make a post readable.
