The following is all jacked from jimijumper's "The Bona-Fide Target Clearance Thread XX IS NOW CLOSED!!!" thread linked below

Previous thread:

Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!

For example:

$4.98
123-45-6789 Random Game Name #12345678

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself.

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

New link to search for items using Target's online item #:

Find In Store

You can also take the DPCI # and search on Target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there.

(HUGE PROPS TO mitch079 FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL INFO!!!)

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:

Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to BigDirty for that^

I am starting off this new thread going back toOctober 1st, 2012 February 2013.

Question for you, I just called my target that has that Rebel T3 in stock and over the phone he said that it's still $449. Is that just the list price and the real discount comes at time of checkout? Or do they see actual sales price when they are given the DPCI number? Not sure, as he told me he just sold the other 2 he had in stock today... hmm.
Im curious about this well. One had it instock and I had the guy check the price and it came up 449.

May have been an old DCPI that was clearanced and DCPI was reactivated without the clearance designation removed? 70% seems pretty steep for a newer camera, especially when the last round of camera clearance was just a month or so ago.

Pretty recently mine has been moving tons of stuff around and now clearance seems to just be scattered around the whole electronic/move/music/gaming sections. Yeah some small stuff could always be found strewn about with regular stuff but now there these packets of clearance all over.

Endcaps in the movie/music section now have clearance again. There's a little bit (was more) of games on the bottom shelf of the value section (which at my store is located way away from the games and past the movies). Along the back wall they now have clearance again and it's mostly cases for tablets and phones, wires, and some slightly bigger stuff like all those Roku competitors. Then on the endcaps of the videogames and camera stuff there's a few gaming related stuff but it's mostly mixed in with regular merchandise too.

Why they didn't just keep it like before and put most it of in one section I don't know...was so much easier on everybody when it was relegated to a couple of the endcaps back by the games and printers and stuff.

Actually, Target has the right to limit anything they sell including clearance. They don't have to allow a customer to buy up an entire inventory just because it's on clearance. They have to ensure that other customers have a chance to buy something also. The Target I work for does it all the time. They know resellers try to buy up inventory to obviously resell.
I was thinking the same thing. I mean 3 isn't too bad but where does that end? If they had 5 would you have tried to buy 5? 6? 10? I think we lose perspective sometime as CAGs, I mean what if you were in somebody else's shoes? What if you were behind a guy buying the last five with a big smirk on his face?

If you give them the dpci and they look up the price in the system, that's what it is going to be when you checkout....

Has anyone used the Sol Republic Master Tracks?  They were $100 yesterday and I passed on them but now I'm starting to think about going back and grabbing them.

Is my Target the only one with a clearance area that consist of only one game, Defiance, and everything else being related to phone cases?

well I believe he had sold 2 earlier in stock because dick wads over at SlickDealz are buying them for full price and going to a target that has the camera on clearance for $134 / $225 and returning the $449 price and repurchasing for the clearanced price.

Yeah it's shady but has anyone ever tried buying a game at one Target for full price and returning/rebuying at another Target that has it on clearance? I haven't tried and don't think I want to but has anyone else?

they have rules about this specific thing in place (return and rebuy wrt clearance). you can do the 'different credit card' method, but it'll be pretty obvious what you're doing so make sure it's worth it if you're going to look shady to a target cs rep. I go to target waaaay too much to burn those bridges, but I get the allure, especially on the big ticket stuff.

There's a guy on the Lego thread that posted about this all the time, til I called him out on it.

It's done by many folks, but it is YMMV as the return desk will not price adjust and theoretically they are not allowed to let you return / rebuy. The standard working method is to tell them you want the charge on a different credit card. Dont use a receipt, just give them the original credit card.

I picked up a pretty decent camera bag for $20.98

Los Angeles, 7th and Fig

I don't own a camera but does make for a decent day bag/man purse.

Mostly iPhone/iPad accessories and several copies of Defiance at my store in Birmingham, MI.

Did see a copy or two of Dance, Dance Revolution and that other dance game with a Disney theme for $14?

I did pick up a Monster Xbox 360-branded 8 ft HDMI cable for $12. Great price for that length.

Also grabbed a monitor cleaning kit for $5.99 (was $20).

They did still have a few copies of the digital download version of CoD !

Nothing at any of the downtown Targets. The Madison/State store only had the Harry Potter and Chipmunk DS games with movie. The Roosevelt/Clark store had a lot of iPhone 5 cases, Defiance(360) for $13.XX and some 360 Dance games.

I don't even want to look at my Target. It used to be a gold mine, but that was long ago. Now it is overpriced 3rd party iPhone chargers, iPad cases, cameras and HDMI cables. Although I'm sure there are copies of Defiance as well.

I got the The Bigs 2 on 360 and PSP years ago for $5 each but gave them away as gifts. WORST DECISION EVER. It's still $20 used at all the Gamestops around here and good luck finding it anywhere else.

PS- Did the same thing with a $10 copy of the Telltale Jurassic Park game. Now it's ~$40, and the Family Video down the road has the case for it but never has the actual game lol. Someone never returned it I guess.

My kids pointed out that you can easily make more than minimum wage buying/selling target clearance. So why not, seems better than flipping burgers if you have no other alternative.

Day One Xbox One at Cumming, GA Super Target off Market Place Blvd. Store associate said it had been sitting in the back since the pre-order wasn't picked up.

I know it's last year's edition but my local Target clearanced MLB 13: The Show (Vita) for $5.56. Between Cartwheel 10% off and a $5 Target GC got it for free. Hold me over till MLB 14 comes out on PS4.
