Target Clearance Thread XXIV

I got a comfy pair of Sketchers walking shoes for $11.98 a few months back and I’ve worn them pretty much everyday since then with no issues. They’ve even got that fancy memory foam insert that makes you feel like you’re walking on air!

I like the fila's at kohls.  Cheap at usually around 23$ though the last pair I got on sale for 14.50.  Very comfortable.  As are the socks which I get through biglots for like 3-5$ for 6-13 pairs.

Spotted at my nearby store.

Lego marvel super heroes
Doom
Plants vs zombies garden warfare
Lego worlds
Star wars battlefront

All Xbox one
$9.98 each

Nothing too crazy. Just putting it out there

I did get a good pair of slip on boots from Walmart once for $20. A very long time ago. They claimed to be anti-slip. And, that you could walk on an oil spill or a frozen lake, and not fall over. (Not sure how true that was) But, I used them as my Zombie shoes when I was a Zombie at Six Flags, and they lasted me ten years. Only now are they starting to deteriorate into nothingness.

Picked up Doom PS4 for $5.98.

At checkout the cashier had to input my birthdate. She asked "is this X rated?".
Nice!

I hope they get back on track with clearance. Since the floor team does clearance since late last year, they haven't been very good at keeping up. Especially since Covid and cleaning was a priority. I'm waiting so patiently for a 3DS game clearance. They know they're not getting anymore 3DS/2DS systems. They have to start getting rid of them eventually... eventually.

Great list!

People are reporting on Slickdeals that they have received targeted offers on their Cartwheel accounts.  Some are $10 off of a $40 purchase and some are $5 off of a $25 purchase.  I don't have one in my Cartwheel at this point, but it's only for certain accounts.

I got one, but you have to do store pickup, and my local store stopped doing store pickup because of Covid 19. I don't think it's worth driving over 25 miles just to save $10, considering that I'd be spending that money in gas. I just wish that it was a flat $10 off, or a $10 gift card.

Uh you mean circle? not cartwheel which was discontinued a while ago.
According to their application, it is now called 'Target Circle.'

Sometimes they will use their Target logo in place of the word Target.

While my above information is true, I believe it has been colloquially known as Circle, as you've mentioned, when the conversation is already about Target (the store).

Please see the below informative screenshots taken from within the official Target application on Android.

Where is this located? Under "for you"? Looks like I didn't get anything.

What happens if you cancel a pre-ordered item from Target's buy two get one sales? Do they authorize you for the unpaid difference on the items that have already shipped?

The $10 off $50 Circle offer doesn't work with preorders because you can't preorder for pickup, only for shipping. Since Fairy Tail comes out on the 31st and the offer expires on the 1st. I hope I can use it the day it comes out to get it 10 dollars cheaper.

Apparently next week the toy clearance will hit 70-90% off for anything that is left in stores.

I finally see Fallout dropped at a store by me now says Limited./// Ugh... What area are you in again I always think for some reason you are in the SE WI area
I'm not in Wisconsin. But my local store only had one copy of each game left before I bought them, so you might just have to go into the store. Don't ever call!

Fallout 4 (PS4) and Lego Worlds (Xbox One) finally dropped to $5.98, so I grabbed them both this morning.
Thanks for the heads up! Both said limited at my local store, but they had 5+ copies of Lego so I grabbed one. They didn't have any Fallout that I saw, so I wasn't able to grab that.

There were almost no PS4 games out for display though. Very weird, as there were 100+ XB1 titles scattered around and even 40 or so switch games, but they only had about 20 PS4 and most of them were the same game.

Target really hasn't been replenishing titles in store since the pandemic started. And there is a post by CAG member trchavez416 further up the page with all of the current clearance titles on it.

Non-clearance related, but Target related post incoming:

Had an unpleasant experience at Target earlier. I decided to return Iron Man VR I got a couple of weeks ago, because I decided to just wait on the game until it hits sub-$30. I get to the CS counter and the girl looks at the game and then said "I have to get a manager". I looked at her confused and she was like "We've had issues with game returns lately and they need to be approved by a manager first." Okay. So, I waited for a manager and one comes over and she thoroughly inspects the game. I mean, she checked EVERY corner and side to try and find the slightest imperfection on the wrapping. She finally approves the return.

Fast forward about 5 minutes when I'm looking in the games for any possible clearance deals (zero) and the manager comes up to me with the Iron Man VR game opened and she goes "just to let you know, from now on we will be unable to do any video game returns. We've had people coming in with fake copies to return. If you get a fake copy, you will have to contact Microsoft or Sony from here on out. We've been in contact with prosecutors over this." She shows me the disc and it looks normal to me and she explains the inner ring on the games are blank, which this one was clearly not blank.

It felt like I was being accused with the way she found me in the store and even opened the game despite it still being sealed. However, it makes zero sense to stand there to inspect the game to see if it's been open and resealed, only to turn around and open the game anyways. Now the game is unsellable despite the fact it was still brand new when I returned it. So, they are going to prevent people from returning games? What if grandma buys the wrong game for Lil' Jimmy's birthday, she can't return it and is stuck with the game?

This has to be specific to your store only because I returned a game yesterday morning with no issue.

Report her to corporate. I worked at Target for 6 years and that's absolutely ridiculous she tracked you down and confronted you while shopping. Who does that?

When I tried to buy a game years ago and price match it to best buy or somewhere at the time (I don't have a best buy close to where I live) they told me they do not price match at all :/ I think it was tales of xillia 2. Ended up just ordering off of amazon or walmart since they price matched it online.

Something similar, happened to me when Target was clearancing out PlayStation TVs. I bought one and decided I needed the money more.

Brought the still sealed PlayStation TV to customer service. The old white lady, gutted the thing right in front of me.

Acted like I was a criminal returning stolen merchandise with a counterfeit receipt or something. I figured it out that people have been returning fake stuff, but dang Target.

Didn't have such a jerk about it, Target! Needless to say, I haven't really done much shopping at Target except for sales and clearance items.

My horrible experience was several years before the pandemic. I'm not even going to try to return something to Target during these time, unless it really is defective.

If they had simply done their diligence to ensure you weren't returning a carefully opened box (understandable given the price and circumstances of item), no big deal. Pretty common to need a manager for a higher priced return. This might be a little annoying at the time but it is understandable and easily ignored. Go on about your day right? Hell, if said manager had run into you while on the floor and "apologized" for the seemingly excessive review of your return as they've been having a problem lately that wouldn't have been a big deal. Everyone's stressed right now so you give people a little more benefit of the doubt than usual.

Tracking you down in store and seemingly accusing you of returning a fake item though, and telling you they won't take any more returns, is way beyond what is acceptable and I agree with others in the thread, a complaint to corporate is warranted. If I were corporate I'd want to know about a manager like that in my store, if nothing else so I can correct their behavior before it becomes a real problem. I don't know your race but if a Target employee approached a person of color with that "you must be committing a crime" attitude right now...

All of these discussions are ridiculous and indications of overzealous employees.

Target, Walmart and many more use Scan Based Trading - which basically means they don't own the items in their store until they pass through a register. All of the risk in stores like this is on the manufacturer or distributor.

For the individual who posted above about Iron Man - I'd of had her ring me out another new copy - opened it up in front of her - and then immediately demand a refund on it since the disk was obviously fake due to the inner ring issue that she, in her expert opinion, had already identified.

My Target store stopped accepting returns in March. The one upside to this, is that when I tried to return something online. Not only did they let me keep the product that I was trying to return, but they also gave me all of my money back.

That is DEFINITELY not something a retail employee or even a manager should ever do. Completely unacceptable. I have been noticing Target getting more strict with their returns. Went to a Target a bit aways from me and went to CS to buy a game because the electronics employee said if it's not there then they don't have it because they don't have copies in the back. I told CS the same thing and they confirmed with their Zebra that they did in fact have copies in the back. CS guy had went to have a talk with the electronics rep and came back telling me the same guy would help me. I walk back to electronics and the guy is just chatting away with a vendor and completely ignored me. Another sales rep asked me if I needed help and went to grab a copy from the back and rang me up. Well the point is that while I was in CS, an asian dude was trying to return something that he says he had bought the day before and they just wouldn't let him return the item at all claiming that it was a decision made by their AP. They even called up AP on a walkie to for them to come and talk to the guy. Definitely not something they normally do.

I had similar experience, but was doing a price adjustment back in June. Matching price with Amazon and they said they would give the partial refund, but then said they would give a full refund. Very bizarre, but no complaints here.

My local Target has stopped accepting returns during the first month or so of the pandemic (late March - early/mid April, I want to say), but ever since then they’ve not only been accepting returns again, but extended the return window of most products by at least 30 days, electronics included. And this isn’t some rich, well-off area...it ain’t Beverly Hills, but it isn’t Compton, either. Sees like the service of each Target, much like their clearance deals, is much more YMMV than one would expect.

If you spend $40 on Target's website in the next 21 days, and you have a Target Circle Account, they will send you a $10 Target Circle credit for a future purchase.

Wonder if it stacks with the spend $40 get $10 off circle offer with order pickup.
I'm wondering that too, it sounds like it could be a regional thing though, I posted a thread about the deal, and so far I seem to be the only person on here that has that specific deal. I also believe that this week there is a deal that if you buy $40 worth of something, you get a $10 Target gift card. So, if you did order pickup, not only could you potentially get a $10 gift card, but $10 back, and another $10. Meaning $40 of stuff for $10. I doubt that they all stack though. That would be way too amazing. Most Circle deals are one or the other, and since the $10 back is technically a Circle deal, along with the $10 off being another circle deal with order pickup. It's hard to say.
